Zombie Killing

I love playing computer games. Sadly, I haven't had much time lately. I've been hiding out in the writing cave a little too long. But to celebrate finishing up the sixth book in The Omni Towers Series, I decided to take a little bit of a break. Step 1: Buy a bottle of really expensive celebratory wine. Step 2: Drink said bottle. Step 3: Shoot zombies with a multitude of high-powered assault weapons and throw molotov cocktails, all while cackling like a crazy woman. (Oh, and bring some friends along so they can rescue you when you go charging in like said crazy woman) End result? The zombies almost won. But my trusty companions and I managed to save the day! You're welcome. I think the game, Left for Dead, will always remain one of my favorites. It's been a long time since I've played, but it was good to get online and slaughter some zombies again. Now excuse me while I play another round. The whole post-apocalyptic setting is wonderfully inspirational for finishing up the prequel for The Omni Towers. Sorry. No zombies. Although that might be something interesting to consider for another series. ;)

From the Writing Cave...

So I've been diligently working on a new urban fantasy book featuring none other than... a fairy! This is quite a bit different from The Omni Towers series, but I'm having a lot of fun writing it. It's going to be a standalone book, and I'm hoping to release it early 2019. I can't wait to show you the cover! It's gorgeous! But in the interim, I'm also writing a prequel for The Omni Towers (Ruins of Fate). This will be a standalone book and much smaller than my other ones. I won't tell you too much yet, except that it takes place roughly fifteen years before Beneath the Fallen City. If you've already read the first few books, I think you can get an idea about the cast of characters. Muahahaha! Ruins of Fate is going to available FREE for my newsletter subscribers. So if you haven't signed up yet, you might want to click here to sign up. Otherwise, it will be available for purchase on Amazon. I'll let you know when I know more!

Whiteboards and Post-Its Everywhere!

I'm a whiteboard fanatic. Not only do I have two whiteboards in my writing cave where I scribble all my super-secret notes, but I've also started wallpapering my walls with post-its. (Yes, they're all different colors... and yes, I buy them in bulk.) PSA: Don't turn on the ceiling fan when you have post-its for wallpaper. When I started writing Beneath the Fallen City, I wasn't thinking about turning it into a series. It just sort of happened. The story ended up being something bigger than what could be contained within one book. It's required some... creativity. Especially with staying organized. I use a series bible to keep track of my characters (and their elemental alignment): Yep. That's my digital cheat sheet. Don't zoom in -- SPOILER ALERT! You peeked, didn't you? That's okay. Over the span of six books, I've managed to collect quite a few characters. As I told my editor, in my most recent book, I went a little "Game of Thrones". Sometimes, killing off a few people is the best way to keep the character count down. Well, that and it's a little therapeutic.

Find out what's hidden Beneath the Fallen City...

It's here! September is turning out to be a hot release month! I'm hoping you'll love this series as much as I enjoyed writing it. This is Kayla Rath'Varein's story, a kick-ass heroine who scavenges for artifacts beneath the ruins of the fallen city. It's got a little bit of everything... action, adventure, suspense, and some pretty hot romance! So if you like urban fantasy with a bit of steamy romance... you should probably check it out. Beneath the Fallen City (The Omni Towers Series, Book 1) is now available FREE on Kindle Unlimited. Shadow the Coalition, and the never before released Tremors of the Past are also scheduled to be released in just a few days!

Update on Books 2 & 3

Great news! The first two books in the series, The Two Towers and Shadow of the Coalition, are scheduled to be released in print in the next few months! I don't have an exact date yet, but I'll let you know as soon as I hear from my publisher.  It's crazy, but I'm just flying through Book Three. I just finished Chapter Eleven and I'm estimating that I'm about halfway through the first draft. I sort of compare writing to a drawing or painting. Take a tree, for example. I usually do a rough sketch

Working on Book Three...

I received the ARCs (Advance Reading/Review Copies) for Shadow of the Coalition from my publisher today! I sent out a ton of review copies and I'm excited to hear some of the responses. We have just a little over a month before the book releases. If you haven't already pre-ordered your copy at the discounted price, you should pick it up! After I sent out the ARCs, I had a moment of realization that the book was actually done. I just sat here for a long time completed dumbfounded. Holy cow! Now
