what we talk about when we talk about woody allen
This is sort of a stream-of-consciousness ramble, but I keep thinking about this shit, so I thought I’d write something. Unless you’ve been living deep, deep under a rock, you’re probably familiar with the Woody Allen scandal that has reared its ugly head again after a couple of decades of quiet. If you have just emerged from such a rock, here’s the required reading list:
“Mia’s Story”: The 1993 Vanity Fair profile on Mia Farrow that details the allegations that Woody Allen molested their daug...

holden caulfield & a superhero wedgie
My book is finished and it’s time to start on something new. I’m not sure what my next thing is going to be yet. Though I think I have a couple more books in me (and I can’t believe I’m saying that) I need to start working on a TV pilot soon, and I thought it would be kind of fun to refresh the space where I work and get some different energy on the inspiration gallery wall. New year, new look, new Paige. The photo above is the wall above my desk at home. There are a lot of fun prints up ther...

“i’ve got a secret. a good one.”
True story: I cried (CRIED) the day the “Veronica Mars” kickstarter was announced. Tears falling down my face. Later that day I was on the “Awkward” set and I was trying to explain to everyone how much VM meant to me and I think I seriously embarrassed myself. BUT REALLY. I loved the show that much.
I know it sounds so freaking cheesy, but the fact that this film is happening is a victory. For good television, for complicated and damaged and strong teenage heroines (which we are severely lacki...

happy new year
trying to build galaxies out of winks and shivers
that you give me when you call my name
trying to write symphonies with a hand that quivers
in the storm of your elusive rain.
.closer than we are.
Wishing all of you a very happy New Year from 35,000 feet above the Pacific Ocean. Last night I rang in 2014 in Sydney, Australia. They say the way you spend New Year’s Eve is indicative of the way you’ll spend your year (“they” being the wise oracle trashy Aunt Haley from “The O.C.,” obviously). If that...

words and feelings and stuff like that.
My New Year’s resolution is to use this blog more. I know I’ve said that before. But now I’m saying it again.
I started this site because the editors of my book suggested I have a blog to sort of boost and maintain my online profile, but I had already become so used to tweeting my every other thought that it felt weird to get back to longer, personal writing. I’ve written so many things with the intention of posting them here, and then I’ve just ended up putting them in a folder on my computer...

shiny people somewhere else
Hey kids! I am finally in the home stretch of writing my book, so I’m getting back to blogging a little more regularly on this site, since I don’t have to spend every waking moment thinking about characters that only exist in my brain. (Pretty soon they will exist on actual pages of an actual book! How crazy is that?)
Since the new TV season officially starts this week, I figured I’d let you know what my TV schedule will look like this fall. I’ve seen all the new pilots — some more than once —...
