THE FIERY EAGLE'S NEST OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE PATOMSKIY CRATER
Before I get into the blog post I would like to let everyone know that my novel "Wormwood" is on sale for the next couple of days for 99¢ so if you don't have it now is the time to grab an ebook. I also have released my second novel "The Third Gender" so that is also available.Today I would like to talk about another unexplained mystery...
In 1949 a man named Vadim Kolpakov set out to explore the uncharted depths of Siberia. The local Yakut people told Vadim about an area called "The Fire Eagle's Nest" and told him that he shouldn't go there because it was evil. The warnings told of a place where people would disappear at worst and feel "unwell" at best. Being the man of Science (Geologist) that Vadim was he didn't believe the warnings and struck out for that area. Soon after arriving he discovered an enormous crater. The crater was the size of a "25-story building" and was surrounded by enormous trees, but nothing would grow on the crater itself.
The crater itself is made almost entirely of limestone. The mystery is that no known reason for the crater to exist has been found. Originally it was thought to have been caused by a meteorite, but there is no evidence to support that theory and no other meteorite site resembles this crater.Around the crater the trees seem to grow at a hyper-natural rate which is similar to how the trees grew after the Chernobyl disaster. Could this be caused by radiation? Others have a more creative theory... That a UFO may be buried below the crater. The crater appears to be between 250 to 500 years old, but some others theorize that it was the test site or a crash site of a nuclear missile. The Russians now and in the past have often covered up information about Cold War history, but it seems like scientists would be able to identify a nuclear created crater pretty easily.
This is from the Daily Mail newspaper in the UK:
"Scientists now think that there is something with a high iron content and ferromagnetic materials buried between 100 and 150 metres underneath the crater. They believe it could be a meteorite or another incredibly dense object, but they are not certain. The fact that the crater is ‘alive’ as its shape changes constantly - by rising and falling - and that the trees nearby the site are reported to grow abnormally fast, adds to the mystery."
So what do you guys think? What caused this giant crater and could it be that a UFO is buried there or that it was the landing site for extraterrestrials 250+ years ago?It appears that something is buried there, what do you think it could be?

THE HATMAN AND SHADOW PEOPLE: A SECOND LOOK
So back in June I posted a blog about The Hat Man and previously I have posted about Shadow People in general.CLICK HERE TO CHECK OUT THAT POST
Since posting that blog I have received an incredible amount of emails on the subject and there's been some people willing to share their stories in the comment section below the June post. The emails I've received were all stories from you guys; most have been personal experiences and tales of blog readers waking up to see shadow people, especially "The Hat Man." I was sent stories of shadow people appearing both during the day and at night. I even heard a story about one coming out of the ceiling.
So just to rehash the previous post a little for people seeing this for the first time. Shadow People are paranormal entities of some kind. They are often associated with sleep paralysis; which is a condition where a person wakes up and feels like they can't move. Often in cases of sleep paralysis the sufferer feels as though they are being held down, feel a weight on their chest, have to struggle to breathe or all of the above. Shadow people are most commonly seen during this period of paralysis. Sometimes it is multiple shadow people or a group standing over the terrified victim. These reports have come from all over the world and a lot of them are eerily similar.
Shadow People appear just as their name implies. They are shadows in human form, that aren't associated with an actual person. They move and act on their own and often come with what appears to be sinister intentions. Shadow people are also associated with future or past tragic events, death or bad fortune. In fact many of the stories that I have read and some of the emails sent to me stated that the Shadow Person had visited just before the death of a loved one. That brings us to "The Hat Man." The Hat Man is one particular shadow person who seems to consistently appear to people. He is described as being tall and thin, wearing what looks to be a black trench-coat and a nineteen twenties style fedora. Many eye-witnesses seem to describe him in a near identical appearance with few, if any inconsistencies. Again reports of the Hat Man come from all over the globe. The Hat Man usually is seen alone, but in some reports he is with other Shadow People or Shadow Minions.
So what exactly are shadow people? What are they seeking? Many of the paranormal researchers who have looked into the subject seemed convinced that Shadow People aren't necessarily ghosts. The most common explanation I have heard is that they are inter-dimensional beings that exist in a dimension very close to our own. At times these beings can cross into our dimension, but they only appear here as shadows. Could they be here to observe us, are they studying our world or are they here for a more diabolical reason?
Others state that they are in fact ghosts that have taken on the Shadow Form because of their dark nature. The scientific community of course believes that Shadow People are figments of the viewers imagination, dreams or actual random shadows that happen to resemble a human silhouette.
When it comes to the Hat Man the theories seem to be very inconsistent. I have read that he could be the leader of these particular entities or simply very strong and able to cross into our dimension more often than others. Another theory is that he is some type of Demon. I have even read a theory that states that he could be extraterrestrial and he is desperately trying to take on human form, trying to blend in right down to the hat.
What do you guys think? Also keep your personal experiences coming in through the comments section or contact me through this site. I am currently finishing up a short story about Shadow People and the Hat Man, so all of your experiences are really helping with research and inspiration.

POST APOCALYPTIC MOVIES ON NETFLIX
Being a writer of Post-Apocalyptic and Apocalyptic fiction I also love movies about the subject. From time to time on this blog I have done reviews of Post Apocalyptic movies on Netflix, because I think it's especially hard to sift through the dreck that Netflix typically provides. Before I get to the movie reviews I wanted to let everyone know that my new Apocalyptic, Sci-Fi novel "The Third Gender" is available on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00QMZRAAKYou can also get my novel "Wormwood" which is about a full scale nuclear war on Amazon too.
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KN7WEW2
I was sitting home a couple of days ago and wanted to search out some post apocalyptic movies on Netflix and I came across three that actually were pretty high quality. Now I know that a lot of movies in this genre are "Indie" or B-type films.
The first movie I watched was a foreign film called "The Last Days." I thought the main theme for this movie was a pretty cool idea. Its set in Spain and basically the whole world comes down with a strange sickness that gives you intense agoraphobia (fear to go outside), but the fear is so intense that it causes seizures, brain hemorrhage and death. It's kind of an action/love story where two men have to journey through underground subway tunnels to attempt to get to their loved ones. They go through holy hell with all kinds of chaos along their way. The movie is really well done for the budget and other than one scene (that involves a bear) I think it was really believable. Some of the shots and scenery was pretty creative and often beautiful. I don't want to give away too much, but I really recommend this film.
On a scale of one to five stars I would give it a 3 and 1/2 stars...
The next movie I watched was an American film that was kind of a B-movie with some star level actors who have fallen out of favor with the mainstream. The movie is called "The Colony" and is about a world in which the whether has gone into "Ice Age" mode. The whole place is frozen over and covered with ice and snow. It stars Laurence Fishburne and Bill Paxton. A group of survivors is living in an underground bunker that was set-up to sustain long term life. They lose contact with another similar settlement and a small group must go find out what happened to the other colony. Once they get there they find that the other colony has been eaten by "Feral People." In fact the actor who plays "The Feral Leader" Dru Viergever was interviewed on the podcast that I co-host. You can hear it here: TheMegapods.com Dru talks about what it was like to work on this movie along with his work in many other movies.Anyway, I think this movie again is really well done for its meager budget. The acting is solid, but I do have some problems with the plotline. It starts out really promising with great shots of the desolate frozen earth. Soon though it turns into a cliche zombie type film.
On a scale of one to five stars I would rate "The Colony" a solid 3 stars.
The last movie that I watched was probably my favorite. It was a real gem. The movie is called "Snowpiercer" and stars Chris Evans from "Captain America" fame. Again the world is in the middle of another "Ice Age" except this time the only survivors are on a train that circumnavigates the globe. The train is divided into sections with the low class passengers in the rear and the upper echelon passengers in the front. It's a futuristic re-telling of the French Revolution in which the poor passengers revolt against the rich only they have to advance along the train car by car. This is where the fun begins, each car is a new set of obstacles.
I really liked this movie, especially because I wasn't expecting much. It had great direction and camera work and it also had some really high quality acting by Tilda Swinton, John Hurt and Ed Harris. Again I'm trying to do this without any spoilers, but there are some really great action scenes especially one particular one in the dark.
On a scale of one to five stars I'd give it 4 stars.

POSSESSION AND HAUNTING IN INDIANA: THE AMMONS FAMILY
As most of you can see by the previous blog posts and the banners around the site I have a new novel coming out tomorrow. So I thought before this blog goes into heavy new book promotion mode I thought I'd get to one more creepy, odd, supernatural posting. Like I've mentioned before the best way for anyone to support this blog (other then simply reading) is to sign up for the mailing list or to pick up one of my books/stories on Amazon. At the end of this post I will give the links to some FREE short stories I'm giving away and the link to the new novel which you can get starting at midnight tonight.I have discussed haunting and possession many times on this blog, but I recently came across a case that seems pretty credible. In November of 2011 Latoya Ammons and her three children moved into a rental property in Gary, Indiana. The first sign that anything was amiss was when big black horse flies started swarming the house in the middle of frosty December. The flies were especially attracted to their large screened in porch. The next set of unusual circumstances was when Latoya and her mother Rosa Campbell would hear loud footsteps coming up the basement stairs and the creak of the kitchen door opening. This always seemed to happen around midnight. They heard the footfalls even after they started locking the basement door. Rosa woke up one night and saw a shadowy figure pacing, the figure disapearred, but what was left behind was just as startling -- muddy footprints.
On March 12, 2012 the creepy noises and overall feeling of dread became too much to bare. This is from the Indianapolis Star:
"It was about 2 a.m. Normally, Campbell, Ammons and her children would have been asleep, but they were mourning the death of a loved one with a group of friends. Ammons, who was in Campbell's bedroom, startled everyone by screaming, "Mama! Mama!"
Campbell said she ran into her bedroom, where her then-12-year-old granddaughter and a friend were staying. Ammons and Campbell said the 12-year-old was levitating above the bed, unconscious.
According to their account of events, Ammons and several others surrounded the girl, praying. Campbell said she remembers being terrified.
"I thought, 'What's going on?' " Campbell said. " 'Why is this happening?' "
Eventually, Campbell said, her granddaughter descended onto the bed. The girl woke up with no memory of what happened, Campbell said. Campbell and Ammons said the people who were visiting that night refused to return.
Campbell says she remembers telling her daughter, "We need help. We need to talk to someone who knows how to deal with it."
Campbell and Ammons said they didn't know exactly what "it" was, but they believed it was something supernatural."
Of course the family started calling churches, but most of the churches refused to help. Finally one of the churches gave the Ammons family some advice. They were told to clean the house with bleach and Ammonia and to self-bless the children by making the sign of the cross on them in olive oil. From there things got much much worse. Again this is from the Indianapolis Star:
" Ammons drew a cross with the smoke.
The person she was with read Psalm 91 aloud as they moved through the house:
"You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday."
Ammons said nothing odd happened for three days. Then, things got worse.
The family said demons possessed Ammons and her children, then ages 7, 9 and 12. The kids' eyes bulged, evil smiles crossed their faces, and their voices deepened every time it happened, Campbell and Ammons said."
The possession became so bad that Latoya felt she couldn't deal with it on her own. Many strange and terrifying things were happening. Latoya though thought she was protected as she states she was born with some kind of spiritual protection. The family physician was consulted along with other clairvoyants and finally a priest agreed to help the family. The most compelling evidence in this case to me are the eye-witness accounts by many reputable sources. These sources and witnesses include social workers and even the Gary, Indian Police Captain, Charles Austin.Another excerpt:
The youngest boy, then 7, sat in a closet talking to a boy that no one else could see. The other boy was describing what it felt like to be killed. Campbell said the 7-year-old once flew out of the bathroom as if he'd been thrown, and a headboard once smacked into Ammons' daughter, causing a wound that needed stitches.
The 12-year-old would later tell mental health professionals that she sometimes felt as if she were being choked and held down so she couldn't speak or move. She said she heard a voice say she'd never see her family again and wouldn't live another 20 minutes. Some nights were so bad the family slept at a hotel.
Finally, in desperation, they went to their family physician, Dr. Geoffrey Onyeukwu, on April 19, 2012. Ammons said she told him what they were going through, hoping he might understand. Onyeukwu told The Star it was "bizarre."
"Twenty years, and I've never heard anything like that in my life," he said. "I was scared myself when I walked into the room." He said he would not speak in more detail unless Ammons had "psychiatric clearance" for the waiver of confidentiality she had signed.
In his medical notes about the visit, Onyeukwu wrote "delusions of ghost in home" and "hallucinations." He also wrote "history of ghost at home" and "delusional." What Ammons and Campbell say happened next also was detailed in a DCS report of a family case manager's interviews with medical staff.
Chaos erupted.
Campbell said Ammons' sons cursed Onyeukwu in demonic voices, raging at him. Medical staff said the youngest boy was "lifted and thrown into the wall with nobody touching him," according to a DCS report. The boys abruptly passed out and wouldn't come to, Campbell added. She cradled one boy in her arms; Ammons held the other.
Someone from the doctor's office called 911. Onyeukwu said seven or eight police officers and multiple ambulances showed up.
"Everybody was ... they couldn't figure out exactly what was happening," he recalled.
Police and emergency personnel took the boys to Methodist Hospital's campus in Gary.
Ammons said hospital personnel laughed at her desire to anoint her sons in olive oil.
"I couldn't talk to them," she said, "so I talked to God."
The boys woke up in the hospital. The older boy, then 9, acted rationally, but the youngest screamed and thrashed, Campbell said. She said it took five men to hold him down.
Meanwhile, someone called DCS and asked the agency to investigate Ammons for possible child abuse or neglect. The caller, who is not named in the DCS report, speculated that Ammons might have a mental illness. The person believed the children were performing for Ammons, and she was encouraging their behavior. DCS family case manager Valerie Washington was asked to handle the initial investigation. She gave the following account to police and in her intake officer's report:
Hospital personnel examined Ammons and her children and found them to be healthy and free of marks or bruises. A hospital psychiatrist evaluated Ammons and determined she was of "sound mind." Washington interviewed the family in the hospital.
While she spoke with Ammons, the 7-year-old boy started growling with his teeth showing. His eyes rolled back in his head. The boy locked his hands around his older brother's throat and refused to let go until adults pried his hands open.
Later that evening, Washington and registered nurse Willie Lee Walker brought the two boys into a small exam room for an interview. Campbell joined them.
The 7-year-old stared into his brother's eyes and began to growl again.
"It's time to die," the boy said in a deep, unnatural voice. "I will kill you."
While the youngest boy spoke, the older brother started head-butting Campbell in the stomach.
Campbell grabbed her grandson's hands and started praying.
What happened next would rattle the witnesses, and to some it would offer not only evidence but proof of paranormal activity.
An exorcism was eventually performed on all three children and the house has been "safe" since then. The children haven't displayed anymore episodes of demonic activity. Here is a short video on the case.
So what do you guys think? Is this a real case of Demonic Possession and a very Haunted House? Or is this a family that found a way to create a very elaborate hoax and capitalize on the attention that the hoax brought on? If this was a hoax they certainly found a way to fool an awful lot of people... Including some pretty official sources.

THE RENDLESHAM FOREST INCIDENT: BRITAIN'S ROSWELL
Most of you dedicated readers know that in addition to my books and stories I am also the co-host of the variety podcast "The Megapods." Recently we conducted an interview for our next episode of UFO expert Nick Pope. Nick use to be the British Government's UFO expert for the Ministry of Defense. While Nick spoke to us about a variety of cool topics the one that stuck with me the most was his investigation into the Rendlesham Forest UFO Encounter. I am very curious to know what you guys think of the incident and what your own theories are about what exactly happened on those cold December nights in 1980.Rendlesham forest is in Suffolk, England and the forest borders RAF Woodbridge. RAF Woodbridge is basically an Air force base that was being used by the United States at the time. The Cold War was in full swing and the base housed a significant armament of nuclear weapons. The first event occurred on December 26th at around 3am in the morning, colored lights in the air were reported by a pair of serviceman on their regular patrol. The lights appeared to be descending into the forest. Lieutenant Col. Charles Halt documented the case as he led the investigation. Here is his report of what happened that night from Wiki:
"Strange lights were reported by a security patrol near the East Gate of RAF Woodbridge apparently descending into nearby Rendlesham Forest. Servicemen initially thought it was a downed aircraft but, upon entering the forest to investigate they saw, according to Halt's memo, a strange glowing object, metallic in appearance, with coloured lights. As they approached, it moved through the trees, and "the animals on a nearby farm went into a frenzy" (but see below). The craft left three impressions or depressions in the ground that were visible the next day. One of the servicemen, Sgt. Jim Penniston, later claimed to have encountered a "craft of unknown origin" and to have made detailed notes of its features, touched its "warm" surface, and copied the numerous symbols on its body.[9] The object allegedly flew away after their brief encounter. Penniston also claimed to have seen triangular landing gear on the object. While undergoing regression hypnosis in 1994 Penniston subsequently claimed that the "craft" he encountered had come from our future, and was occupied by time travellers, not extraterrestrials.[10] Sgt. Penniston's report made shortly after the incident contains no mention of physically encountering an unknown craft, nor of interacting with it. This report and associated sketches are neither signed nor dated, nor are they representative of AF Form 1169, Statement of Witness."
Later that night local authorities were called in, but they only reported seeing the light from a nearby lighthouse. The next morning a group of servicemen returned to a small clearing where they had information that the craft had landed. At the location they found three impressions in the ground, the impressions were circular and equidistantly apart in the shape of a triangle. This was speculated to have been made when the landing gear of the craft touched down. There were also burn marks and broken branches reported on overhanging tree limbs. Plaster casts of the imprints were made for later comparison and research.
Radiation detectors were used to scan the are where the impressions in the ground were made. They found traces of radiation in the impressions and on a tree nearby. During this time a flashing light was seen across the field near a farm that was in the direct line of sight. More events took place later that night when bright star like objects were witnessed shining a beam of light down into the forest. So what exactly happened on those frosty December nights? Nick Pope has investigated hundreds if not thousands of sightings, reports and has spoken to countless eye-witnesses over the years while working for the Ministry of Defense. He maintains that this incident was one of the most compelling and that to this day it can't be explained away. You can hear the entire Nick Pope interview at TheMegapods.com when it is released later this week.
In my opinion there are only a couple of possible explanations: Either the Americans were testing a secret spy probe/satellite or the Russians were (it was the height of the cold war) and the evidence was cleaned up quickly and then subsequently covered up. The other explanation is the more sensational... EXTRATERRESTRIALS.
What do you guys think?
By the way - Join the mailing list, Buy an ebook or short story and keep reading! I appreciate each and every one of you.

THE BIZARRE MYSTERY OF THE HALF CAT MUTILATIONS: ALIENS OR SADISTS
Again before I get into the blog post I would like to update everyone on some news considering my novels and short stories. My second novel the highly anticipated Dystopian story "The Third Gender: Book 1" will be released on December 10th. You will be able to purchase it on Amazon. At first the novel will only be released in E-Book format. Eventually I hope to make it available in print. I will have an entire blog post up about the novel with a brief synopsis just before its released. In other news "Wormwood" is still available for only $2.99. I am also providing signed print copies to those who request them. I would appreciate if those of you who have read the story would review it on Amazon. Each review helps so much. I am also about to release another short story. A couple months ago I wrote a very popular blog post about sleep paralysis, the hat man and shadow people. The response was tremendous including many people who sent me their own experiences with shadow people and specifically with the hat man. This inspired me to write a short story based on those experiences titled "Shadow People." The story will be out just after "The Third Gender."
Today's blog post is about a very sinister and mysterious phenomenon that has been happening worldwide for at least the last ten years. Throughout the United States and in many countries cats have been found completely cut in half. The strange thing is that only the front half of the cat is recovered and the portion is completely devoid of blood. Now I'm sure a lot of you have read about Cattle mutilations occurring throughout the midland of the United States and even in parts of Europe. Speculation has ranged from Aliens to sadistic devil worshiping cults. Some people have even blamed cryptids like Sasquatch's, Skin-Walkers and the Chupacabra.
The difference with the cats is that they have been found cut almost symmetrically in half. The cuts were made with some kind of sharp instrument in an almost surgically clean fashion. This couldn't have been the work of a coyote or bobcat that is only using these poor cats as a midnight snack. For one if it was a wild animal that was preying on the cats the carcasses would be torn apart. The predators would not only leave the front half which would contain a great deal of nutrients. There would also be blood and tooth marks or even prints around the cats if the were prey to any host of wild animal.
Here is a link that reports some of these half cats in Vancouver, Canada: http://www.ufobc.com/Supernatural/Ani...
There are also reports from Texas where over two dozen cats have been found in the last four years. The similarities are striking and one of the strangest facts is that the cats seem to be cut with some sort of tool that uses high heat. The heat cauterizes the wound preventing blood flow.
Here are two videos of news clips that talk about the Half Cats:
So who or what could be doing this? Some people are saying that it's the same aliens that mutilated the cows, but what kind of alien would fly half way across the galaxy to take a cats ass? In my opinion this is more likely the work of a group or groups of sadistic people. The question is why do these people display the cats and how are they coordinating their efforts all over the world?
I wonder if its possible that there is some dark web underground forum where these sadistic creeps are meeting up and making a game out of the killing of cats. It seems to me that this is being perpetrated by some sick idiots who get some kind of pleasure out of hurting animals. It is pretty common knowledge that serial killers often practice their art on animals before moving on to humans. The fact is that there are some very sick people out there and the fact that these sickos are making it a part of their daily fun to cut a cat in half is appalling.
The other question is how are these psychopaths doing it and why (other than their own sick pleasure). Is this part of somekind of ritual, are they taking the blood for a ritual or a sacrifice? And how are they cutting the animals so cleanly?

RESURRECTION MARY AND THE ROADSIDE GHOST PHENOMENON
Many states in the U.S. have a famous ghost and many of those ghosts are of the roadside variety. Usually hanging out in front of cemeteries or at scenes of murder, tragedies or horrible car accidents. In Connecticut we have the "White Lady" of Union Cemetery. I wrote about the White Lady is a blog post a couple of months ago. In fact many different areas have their own White Lady's or Brown Lady's or even Green Lady's. These apparitions appear near the road or in a field or cemetery and are often witnessed by passerby's. Sometimes they are seen in the road and even on occasion are hit by cars that pass right through them. One of the most famous ghosts in the United States is Resurrection Mary who hails from the Chicago area. Here is a portion of the story of Mary and how she came to be. This is from the site PrairieGhosts.com :
"Who is Resurrection Mary?
The most accurate version of the story of Resurrection Mary concerns a young girl who was killed while hitchhiking down Archer Avenue in the early 1930’s. Apparently, she had spent the evening dancing with a boyfriend at the O Henry Ballroom. At some point, they got into an argument and Mary (as she has come to be called) stormed out of the place. Even though it was a cold winter’s night, she thought, she would rather face a cold walk home than another minute with her boorish lover. She left the ballroom and started walking up Archer Avenue. She had not gotten very far when she was struck and killed by a passing automobile. The driver fled the scene and Mary was left there to die. Her grieving parents buried her in Resurrection Cemetery, wearing a white dress and her dancing shoes. Since that time, her spirit has been seen along Archer Avenue, perhaps trying to return to her grave after one last night among the living."
Many eye-witnesses have reported seeing Mary standing by the roadside, some of them have stopped and asked her if she needed a ride. One particular instance involved a man named Jerry Palus, but it was almost in reverse of most reports. Jerry stated that he met Mary one night in 1939 and swore that he spent the evening with her up until his own death in 1992. Here is Jerry's story again from PrarieGhosts.com:
"Palus met the young girl at the Liberty Grove and Hall, a dance hall that was near 47th Street and Mozart. He had apparently seen her there on several occasions and finally asked her to dance one night. He did note in later interviews that he did not recall ever actually seeing the girl come into the dance hall. He looked away and then looked back a few moments later and she just seemed to appear near the wall. Jerry asked the young woman to dance. She accepted and they spent several hours together. Strangely though, she seemed a little distant and Palus also noticed that her skin was very cold, almost icy to the touch. When he later kissed her, he found her lips were also cold and clammy. At the end of the evening, the young woman asked Palus for a ride home and when they got to his automobile, she directed him to drive down Archer Avenue. Palus admitted to being confused. Earlier in the evening, the woman had told him where she lived and he knew that it would be far out of the way for them to travel there via Archer. When he asked her about it, she simply told him again that she wanted to go down Archer Avenue. As they drove down the street, they approached the gates to Resurrection Cemetery and she asked him to pull over. She had to get out here, she told him. Again, Jerry was confused, not being able to understand why she would want to get out at such a spot. He agreed that he would let her out, but only if she allowed him to walk her across the street. She refused to allow this though. The beautiful girl turned in her seat and faced Palus. "This is where I have to get out," she spoke softly, "but where I’m going, you can’t follow." Palus was bewildered by this statement, but before he could respond, the girl got out of the car and ran toward the cemetery gates. She vanished before she reached them - right before Jerry’s eyes! That was the moment when he knew that he had danced with a specter! Determined to find out what was going on, Palus visited the address the girl had given him on the following day. The woman who answered the door told him that he couldn’t have possibly been with her daughter the night before because she had been dead for several years. However, Palus was able to correctly identify the girl from a family portrait in the other room.Needless to say, Palus was stunned by this revelation but apparently, the address and identity of the woman were forgotten over the years. Some time later, when Palus was contacted again about his story (when the passage of time had renewed interest in the elusive ghost) he was unable to remember where he had gone on the day after his encounter. Despite this memory lapse, Palus’ story remains the most credible of all of the Resurrection Mary encounters."
So, what do you guys think? Are these roadside entities real ghosts, or are they urban legends?
In many communities tall tales like this are started to scare teenagers away from certain "hangouts" or to keep them from driving fast on dangerous stretches of road. I'm not sure what this case is, but the consistent number of witnesses is pretty compelling evidence that something resides in that cemetery or on Archer Avenue.

THE HORRIFIC STORY OF 966 LINDLEY STREET
Before I get started with the blog I want to give you guys some news. It's basically the same news as last post with a few exceptions. My second novel "The Third Gender: Book 1 Hope and Prey" is with the editor and has started to be read by my closest Beta readers. So far the feedback has been really positive. I hope to release it on Amazon by late November. I also have a new short story coming out soon called "The Shadow People." I have based it on your stories and feedback from the Shadow People blog thread on this site. Thanks so much for the inspiration. Lastly although the sales on "Wormwood" have slowed just a tiny bit it is still selling consistently. I have dropped the price to $2.99 and I will run a bunch of special promotions this month and next. I am currently hard at work on the second Wormwood book that had the working title The Black Swarm. It is the origin of those sinister bastards and of course also picks up the story with our main characters where the first book left off. Thank you so much to all of the people who have joined my mailing list. If anyone is interested in a limited edition signed copy of Wormwood please contact me and I will tell you how to get it. Keep those Amazon reviews coming! I really appreciate it when you guys post a review.Today I want to talk about one of the most famous and well documented hauntings here in the state of Connecticut. This state has a very rich history of paranormal activity and this house leads the pack. In November of 1974 Lindley Street in Bridgeport, Connecticut went from a quiet little neighborhood to the place where nightmares are made. One house there which was owned by Gerard and Laura Goodin became the target of a reported Poltergeist or at least Poltergeist like activity. The story states that furniture began to move on its own, objects flew through the air or levitated and the house-cat, a perfectly normal kitty began to speak perfect English. Here is an excerpt from the site DamnedCT.com
"As the situation seemingly increased in intensity, police and firefighters were called in, as were news reporters, priests, paranormal investigators and of course, Ed and Lorraine Warren. Thousands gathered in the street to try and glimpse the unexplained phenomena that was supposedly besieging the house, and an international haunting sensation was born.
What made this case was so compelling and drew so much attention as compared to other "hauntings" was the high number of reputedly reliable witnesses who reported experiencing the unusual activities firsthand. Beyond the Goodins and their friends, more than two dozen firefighters, police officers and other investigators on the scene saw all sorts of bizarre happenings, including couches and chairs spontaneously moving across the floor, tables and a refrigerator levitating, paintings and crucifixes falling off walls and even knives flying through the air. They also recounted hearing a range of audio phenomena, from inexplicable knocks and bangings to disembodied voices; Sam the family cat was alleged to have said a number of things (including "Jingle Bells!" and "Bye bye"), while the decorative swans in the front yard were also accused of making unearthly sounds."
Most of the strange phenomenon was centered around the Goodin's adopted 10-year old daughter Marcia. Although some of the activity happened in front of witnesses when Marcia wasn't home and she had a perfectly stable alibi, she seemed to either be a direct target or a source. Here is another excerpt from DamnedCt.com:"Although events came to a head in 1974, odd things had been happening since the Goodins adopted Marcia in 1968, increasing in frequency and intensity in 1971. A year later was the first time the family officially called authorities, initially to help find the source of rhythmic pounding they had heard in the house at night. After that, more unusual events started happening—doors opening and closing themselves as well as items being found in random places around the house. The family repeatedly called in the police to search for a cause to it all, but despite thorough investigations, nothing definitive was discovered.
Activity reached a peak in November 1974, and by that time a number of investigators—including the Warrens, members of the American Society for Psychichal Research and the Psychical Research Foundation—in addition to the police, had staked out the house. They conducted interviews with family members, including Marcia, and detailed a number of seemingly inexplicable happenings. In addition to the aforementioned activities, TVs were tipping over, dressers were moving around, window shades were rolling up and wall shelves were pulling out of the wall, all without seeming provocation. The Goodins, who claimed to not believe in the paranormal, were increasingly stressed and vexed by what was going on in their home."
As was mentioned above, not only were police and firefighters called in 1974 , but world renown paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren were also called in. You may remember Ed and Lorraine from other blog posts or the movie "The Conjuring." About ten years ago I met Ed and Lorraine on two different occasions. To say that they know their stuff is a mild understatement. Here is an excerpt from the Warrens website EdandLorraineWarren.com :"It is November1974, the Warrens are called in to by the Goodin family to investigate a malevolent force that had been terrorizing the family and home. Furniture was being thrown, family members injured, even the family cat was speaking ethnic slurs. “Things were flying around in the front room when we went in there.” Gerald Goodin told a radio station, describing events of Sunday, November 24, 1974. “Whatever it was, it was acting like a demented person and I felt I had to get my family out of the house.” By November 26th, the police superintendent said the supposed haunting was a hoax by the troubled Marcia, and fed by the parents, eager to cash in on their newfound fame. Whatever it was, it made national headlines, drew crowds of onlookers and went on to become a legend that causes goose-bumps still today.
A Bridgeport patrolman responded to “trouble unknown” called to the Goodin house that November Sunday. “When I went to the door, the lady came to the door, I asked ‘What’s the problem?’” recalled the patrolman now a sergeant. “She was crying and pointed.” The lady was Laura Goodin, she pointed to a living room so disheveled it looked as if someone had thrown the furnishings about. ” I asked if she had been burglarized?” She replied “No this is always going on,” Thinking the dreadful pounding noises that echoed through the home for years and the moving objects might be caused by a “settling” of the house, the police called in the fire department. But fire officials and the city engineer found no structural problems, and ruled out the possibility of renovation work at the nearby St. Vincent’s Medical Center was causing the problem."
The house on Lindley Street still stands to this day. There has been no official explanation for the events that took place there and I believe that you can even take a tour of the house. A book was written about the house and you can see the website and find out information about this horrific place here:
