Updates and Stuff!

It's been a criminally long time since I've updated this blog, I know. A shame! But I've been busy writing, which is a good thing. Right now, no pun intended, I'm working on a book under a pen name so I won't be starting A Venus Affair until next month some times. The outline for it however, is finished.

A Venus Affair will be the last  "alien-of-the-week" books in the Mission series. It's tangentially related to the main mytharc and will fill in some details from other characters and plots in the previous books. It may seem a little weird to have Bob go off on a big family vacation to Venus right before the you-know-what hits the fan between aliens and humans but I promise, this story needs to happen inbetween what has already transpired and what will happen later on. By the way, for those of you wondering about how many books are left? There are three books left in the Mission series: A Venus Affair, Phoenix Rising and Future Fantastic.

I'll be going on vacation next week and I'm already on vacation at home this week, getting some much needed relaxation and reading and writing done. I'm mentally planning another scifi series, this time a science fiction detective-noir series. Think Warren Hammond's Kop series with some mysticism and knighthood thrown in for good measure. I love the emotional depths that fantasy brings so yes, my science fiction may have some psuedo fantasy elements in it. That's how I roll. That's just me. I also have some up coming posts about just stuff that interests me, like Diana Gabaldon's wonderful John Gray series that I'm currently enjoying, why I no longer like the BBC's new Sherlock series and why I'll stick with Granada's Jeremey Brett and also Basil Rathbone - my two favorites -  and what I'm looking forward to seeing - The Hollow Crown (The War of the Roses). Anyway, that's all I have to say for now. Hopefully not everyone is irked by my podcast episodes. besides the occasional free book, it's a way for me to give out free content to people who sign up to the mailing list. After all, I don't send emails out that often anyway and there's always the choice to delete the email if you're not interested. It's not that hard, folks!

And now I'm off for water aerobics!

New Other Worlds podcast episode is out! You Drop Stardust, part 1

Here it is, finally and this was  a lot of fun! I especially loved working on this episode because I loved the romantic music so much and I hope you enjoy it too! This is the first part. Look for the next three parts later on.  You Drop Stardust  is a science fiction romance in the vein of  the Griffon and Sabine series. It's meant to be romantic, mysterious and wondrous and mystical.

Download episode here. Or listen below.

Description:  The Dark Energy Project, started by a group of far-thinking engineers, scientists and programmers many years ago has come roaring back like a storm!

Meant to catapult human exploration and civilization out to the farthest reaches of space, it centered around the groundbreaking information on how to build working stargates. Except, the information was stolen and its founders and all other humans attached to the project killed by alien loyalists. Thereafter, it was renamed The Blackguard Project, the linchpin of the entire drama between humans, alien rebels and the alien loyalists. It's a shortcut for the aliens in the approaching Black Fleet who abandoned their dying planet and are heading to the solar system to invade Earth and wipe out humanity.

Bob receives a copy of the Blackguard files by The Boss with a new mission: stop the inaugural activation of the new stargate at the annual Sci-Tech Convention. To most people, this is a momentous year in the history of science and space exploration. However, Bob and his U-net band know that this gate is a Trojan Horse! It must be stopped and the aliens behind this sinister plan exposed, no matter the cost.

Questions From The Mission Series

One question I've gotten from readers about the protagonist in the Mission series is what happened to him at the Hussa facility and how is the alien material injected into him during the experiment working in his body? What is it doing to him? That is a question I plan to answer with some clarity and length in the seventh book, Phoenix Rising.

The gristone sword and Tulos's spiritual journey. he will definitely be making a big comeback along with the crew on mars Rychik and Genevieve in the last book. he will be a new man, so to speak. and a powerful warrior with a new calling. there will be an old enemy who will return in a new and frightening form for the last two books.

As for the sixth book, A Venus Affair. this si another one of those 'alien/monster-of-the-week' books in between the Big Battle coming at he end of the series. However this next book is very much related to the others when it comes to materials for a new weapon that Ellen Vartan is building against the aliens. Anyway, I feel like the series is in a good place now that I've reached the midpoint of the series. So what's coming next? After the Mission series is over I'll be writing a new scifi series. a detective series.

Think The Dresden Files with science fiction. :)
