EXCITING Red Hot news & Comp Winners Announced!!

I got some VERY EXCITING news from my editor on Thursday... And it comes in two stages.

Firstly, I submitted a proposal earlier this year for the new Cosmo Red Hot Reads line which is a digital first collaboration between Cosmopolitan Magazine in the US and Harlequin... These are going to be digital only books, a little shorter than series books but with lots and lots of sass and steam! With New York Times Bestseller Sylvia Day and RITA winner Sarah Morgan already signed up to write for this extremely HOT new imprint I really really wanted to be a part of it... Anyway after much nailbiting and panic over my partial, which had to go through a rather more rigorous acquisitions process than I'm used to (eventually being okay'd by Cosmo's main man in NYC) - I got the word from my ed last week that they want to buy the book I was proposing... The working title at the moment is  10 Ways to Handle the Best Man... (We're talking Four Weddings Meets 50 Shades - by way of a pushy Maid of Honor forced to handle the Best Man from Hell).. If you want a few more tantalising hints as to what happens next, check out my Pinterest board.

http://pinterest.com/hlric/10-ways-to...

Secondly, I also got the go-ahead to write a Hopeless Romantic's Guide to A Great Movie Night In for the new digital first Harlequin Pop line... Once again can't wait to write this, and wear both my film journalist and my romance-landia hats at the same time!! How cool is that?

Anyway, watch this blog for more news on both projects... Now all I've got to do is calm down enough to write them!!

I would also like to say a big thank you to all those who entered my blog comp last week to win a copy of my new Harlequin KISS novel Too Close for Comfort...

So, with no more ado, the lucky winners of a signed copy of the book are:

Desere Steenberg

Sharon Collins

For those who didn't win, don't forget to have a crack at my Goodreads Giveaway below:

Win a Copy of Too Close for Comfort, my 1st Harlequin KISS novel

The lovely UPS man delivered a big ole box of books today of my first ever Harlequin KISS novel!! So how excited am I??

Too Close for Comfort is due out on May 21st in North America and features drop-dead delicious Mexican-American PI Zane Montoya - who appeared briefly in my last Harlequin Presents Extra One Night So Pregnant  and got everyone hyperventilating - well, me anyway!

So I just had to write Zane's story. But I wanted to find him a heroine who would really challenge him and get behind that sexy, devil may care charm to the tortured and tender soul beneath. Step up Iona MacCabe, a feisty Scottish wildlife artist who's in California to track down the deadbeat who conned her father out of his life savings... Unfortunately said deadbeat is also on Zane's hit-list, and the last thing Zane needs after staking out the guy's motel room in Morro Bay for most of the night is some reckless kid breaking into the room and screwing up a six-month operation...

Uh-oh, I see trouble ahead... And moonlight and dancing and lust and... well you get the picture!

You can read a sneak peek from the first chapter of Too Close on my website here:

Psst.. This copy of the book also features a seriously smexy free novella by Aimee Carson called The Wedding Dress Diaries: the stunning intro to our wonderful Harlequin KISS continuity The Wedding Season by Aimee C, Amy Andrews, Yours Truly and Kimberly Lang...Which I guarantee you will not want to miss... I'm still fanning myself after reading it a couple of months ago!

So if you'd like to win a free copy of Too Close for Comfort (with Aimee's bonus novella), you can either enter the Goodreads Giveaway listed on the sidebar of this blog (which will be approved shortly and runs until 15th May!).

Or Enter the Rafflecopter below (PS, if you need help with the answer to the question, check out my website page for the book above!).

A Sneak Peek of Too Close for Comfort...

Yay! Thanks to the hard work of my wonderful web lady Heather I now have a sneak peek of my next book – Too Close for Comfort – up on my website.

This is the story of dropdead gorgeous Mexican-American PI Zane Montoya who appeared as the hero's half-brother in One Night, So Pregnant!  And reckless Scottish wildlife artist Iona McCabe...  if you want to find out how they meet in the opening chapter check it out here.

The book is out in June as a Harlequin KISS in the US and as a Mills and Boon Modern in the UK...  And hopefully all those people who asked for Zane's story won't be disappointed.

A Glittering Night at the RoNas, Cover Joy & Some Spanish Giveaways!

Wow,  what an action packed couple of weeks I've just had.

First  off their was a glittering night last week at the RNA's RoNa awards. Unfortunately I didn't win the Rose award - that honour went to the lovely (and disgustingly talented!) Sarah Mallory. But I still had a fantastic time with fellow authors Sarah, Carol Townend, Fiona Harper, Scarlet Wilson and Abby Green and India Grey. It was a great night and now I've just got to make sure I get nominated next year so I can have that much fun again. (No pressure, then!!!)

Scarlet, Carol, Sarah, Fiona and Moi looking fabulous on the night!

Then this week I took a two-day trip to Dublin's Fair City to do a wonderful workshop with my good mate Abby Green on how to write a Mills and Boon. I think we made a pretty good double act myself and it was great chatting with the Eblana writer's group who hosted the event.

And then I got back this afternoon to discover not one but two great covers for my June release Too Close for Comfort in my inbox. This is Zane and Iona's story and is going out in the US as my first Harlequin KISS novel and in the UK in the Mills and Boon Modern series -  while Riva remains on hiatus.  Both covers are completely gorgeous but I'd say the KISS cover might just have the edge thanks to all those bright vibrant colours and my fabulous heroine - who looks exactly as I pictured her with all that gorgeous red hair. That said, Zane my drop-dead delicious Mexican-American PI is pretty cute too.  For more details about the book watch this space as I will be doing a sneak peek on my website very soon.

I may also have more exciting news for UK readers shortly about some reprints and also the release of our fabulous KISS continuity The Wedding Season in the UK.

Lastly, for any Spanish-speaking readers out there I am doing a couple of Goodreads Giveways of my Spanish translations:

Mas Que Una Noche (aka The Good the Bad and the Wild)

Los Asuntos Del Duque (Unfinished Business with the Duke)

The KISS Continuity Is Ready for Takeoff!

So excited to announce that my 14th book has now been accepted!

Maid Of Dishonour is currently slated for a September release in North America and will be the third book in the KISS continuity which I've been doing with fabulous fellow authors Amy Andrews, Aimee Carlson and Kimberly Lang. Called The Wedding Season, the continuity follows the story of four former college roomies who each end up on the rocky road to love during one eventful summer.

My story involves flirty British social media strategist living in New York Gina Carrington and hot Southern CEO Carter Price (who's the big brother of Kimberly Lang's heroine). They have a wild one-night stand in their past that had a devastating impact on both their lives and gives them lots of juicy baggage to work through when they meet again ten years later.

Having now read all the other books in the continuity I can safely say that it's  going to be an absolute stunner. It should be kicking off in July with Aimee Carson's book The Uninvited Wedding Guest which is a suitably steamy tale of love regained when Park Avenue Princess Reese Michaels has a surprise visit from surly ex-husband and former US Marine, Mason Hicks, on the eve of her big society wedding to Mr Perfect, Dylan Brookes......

Hope that whets everyone's appetite!

I'll be sticking up a sneak peek on my website of Maid Of Dishonour as soon as I have cover art, but until that time you might want to check out my Pinterest page featuring my pictorial inspiration for the story accompanied by some cheeky little snippets of the text!

Also today, I'm talking about the fabulousness that is the Silver Linings Playbook over at The Pink   Heart Society  so come on over and check it out.

The Good, the Bad and the Wild shortlisted for The RoNa Rose Award... It's Official!

All's fab in Heidi-land today with the announcement of the RoNa Rose Award shortlist.

I'm chuffed to bits (and slightly gobsmacked) to say that The Good, the Bad and the Wild has been shortlisted this year. Shouting out to Scarlet Wilson, Fiona Harper, Sarah Mallory and Carol Townend to send them congratulations too on their nominations. I'm honoured to be on the list with such brilliant fellow authors. And I'm also pretty excited about having a great excuse to buy a new frock!

Here's the full list (with the Wonderful Ms Wilson listed twice!) of the nominated books.

Read it and weep – I certainly am! Who'd have thought that my bad boy Nick - who refused to talk to me for most of the time I was writing this book - would end up getting me onto a list like this. Nice one Nick, all is forgiven.

Happy New Year... Five Go Wild in Connemara!

Happy New Year everyone... Let's hope 2013 is a stunner.

I certainly started the year off right, am just back from a wonderful writer's retreat at Delphi Lodge in Connemara with fabulous fellow authors Chantelle Shaw, Caitlyn Crews, Abby Green and Fiona Harper. I have a whole album of photos on my Facebook page, but frankly you can't take a bad picture in that staggeringly beautiful landscape.

And the Lodge itself is the perfect place to relax, indulge and feed the body and the soul with some great craic beside a roaring fire or over a three-course meal. Each evening after a day of wandering, soaking up the mystery and magic of Ireland's dramatic Atlantic Coast, we would retire to the Lodge to solve plotting problems, discuss the genesis of the alpha hero and generally laugh ourselves silly over the trials and tribulations of being a romance writer. Ah, it's a tough life....

To celebrate the dawn of 2013 - which I hope will be a great year for my writing - I'm giving away a Quiet Man Calendar which I picked up in the gift shop in the grounds of the majestic Kylemore Abbey and a copy of my Brody Brothers Special Release, PS I'm Pregnant - featuring two gorgeous Irish heroes.

Just check out the Rafflecopter below to enter. a Rafflecopter giveaway
