Perhaps that's the reason why I'm rooted in science and fantasy alike. BBC documentaries can lure me into a chemistry lab, another era or universe. A good book can capture me for weeks. I've always been fascinated by language and languages. I speak four foreign languages more or less fluently. But English has always been a favourite.
Since I've spent several months in New Zealand in 1993 and 1995, and sat the Cambridge Proficiency in English, I've lived under the delusion that I'm also able to write in English. Others seem to believe that as well because they published some of my short stories in England. Stories have always been an important part of my life. A day without reading is a wasted one. When I was little, I loved listening to the stories my parents read to me. I could hardly wait to be able to read on my own and to delve into those worlds. So it came naturally to begin to write.
