Michigan Voters Ignore the Billionaire's Tea Party

As I write, it appears Michigan voters have voted against Proposal 6, the constitional amendment specifically intended to block a new bridge between Detroit and Windsor, Ontario. Here's what I wrote on the proposal back in October.

Why I'm for Mitt

The next president, be it a reelected Barack Obama or a newly elected Mitt Romney, will face a Republican House and a Democratic Senate. And unless Dean Chambers and his loony bin crew over at UnskewedPolls.com are correct, the odds of the new president being anyone but Barack Obama are fading by the day.

Poland Faces Its Past

The Polish play, Our Class played in Washington this past month. Our Class examines the massacre of the Jewish population of the town of Jedwabne in 1941. The Nazi mass murder had begun, but these 340 or more Polish Jews were killed not by German occupiers, but by their Polish neighbors. It's a disgraceful episode that Poles have only recently begun to accept and discuss. In Warsaw, the play has run for three years. And here in Washington …
