SOMAN’S BLOG: First Peek at Book 5… Movie Update… Las Vegas… and More!
Hey Evs and Nevs,
It’s your resident author here, and things are wildly busy as usual. Luckily it’s a holiday weekend, so I got a couple days of rest for the first time in a very long time — I did a school visit in Naples, Florida… then went to Las Vegas to meet my family (including my nephew and niece, Uma and Kaveen), and just landed in Los Angeles, where I’ll spend a few days working on the movie side of things before heading back to NYC.
First off, look how cute my niece and nephew are. And yes, they’re named Uma and Kaveen… so the fact I have an Uma and Kaveen in the books aren’t a coincidence

JUN’S BLOG (feat. Hort): Survival Challenge Finals + Pre-Match Commentary
It’s that time, Evers and Nevers, the Finals of the Book 5 Survival Challenge have come!!!

After many pitched battles, two champions have emerged, and it’s looking like a battle for the books.
In one corner of the ring, we have AGATHA, Champion of Evers, the Gargoyle Whisper, Freer of the Wish-Fish, and Queen of the Clumps.
Warming up in other corner is SOPHIE, Champion of Nevers, Empress of the Endless Woods, Grand High Witch Ultimate.
Joining us for our pre-match commentary is Hort of Bloodbrook.
Jun: Hort, thanks for joining us.
Hort: My pleasure, Jun.
Jun: First, I just want to say, I’m a fan, and I was sorry to see you go down in Round 2 against Hester.
Hort: Oh, that’s all right, Jun. After all, this whole thing is just a popularity contest, everybody knows I’d win in a real fight.
Jun: Against Hester?
Hort: Of course. She just has a scary pet. Without her demon, she’s nothing.
Jun: I see… Well, Agatha did beat Hester by a large margin in the Semi-Finals. What do you think this says about Agatha’s chances against Sophie?
Hort: Well, Jun, it shows she’s a rallying point for the Evers. But against a real opponent like Sophie, I see her struggling to muster the same support.
Jun: So you think Sophie will win?
Hort: Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want her to win. She’s arrogant, selfish, and impatient… But she’s also beautiful, intelligent, confident, talented, witty, funny, and smells like fresh roses blooming in the summer-time…
Jun: Hort. Hort?
Hort: Yes?
Jun: We lost you for a second there.
Hort: Sorry. My point is, even though Sophie has hurt a lot of people along the way, and I mean, really hurt them, like torn out their heart and stomped on it with high-heels and blasted it with a flame-thrower, I struggle to see how anybody would not vote for Sophie. Because let’s face it Sophie is the coolest, prettiest, most interesting character in The School for Good & Evil series, and how can you not love her?
Jun: Right, I think we’ve covered Sophie pretty well.
Hort: That kind of brings me to an interesting thought though.
Jun: Does it.
Hort: Like, take me. I’ve tried so hard not to love Sophie. To the point I kind of hate her, you know. But I also love to hate her. And I’m in this unhealthy cycle of loving and hating Sophie that I want to break out of, but the fact that I’m not able to get out of makes me think that maybe I want to stay, like, you know, maybe I want this pain, maybe I want this sadness, this deep longing for —

We have a new contest for you guys — the RECAP CHALLENGE. This is a contest where you guys have ONE PAGE to summarize the events of the SGE Books 1 ~ 4, using the Template we provide for you. You can draw, paint, collage, Photoshop on the Template — any method you’d like to create the best Recap of the Story So Far.
Below is an example that I made in honor of the Great Sophie, Empress of the Endless Woods, and True Main Character of the School for Good & Evil Series:
To enter the Contest, simply Right Click on the Template below and Save the image onto your Desktop:
If you want to draw by hand, Print out the Template, draw on it, and then Scan the finished product.
Once you have your Submission, upload it the Reader Gallery, with the heading RECAP CHALLENGE. Make sure that your file is
• Either a JPEG or PNG
• Less than 2 MB
• Features no explicit content
We’ll announce the top 5 Recaps in two weeks on EverNever TV — with one Grand Winner getting a How To Rule the School for Good & Evil poster, like the one below:

SOMAN’S BLOG: Book 5 Coming Fast… New ENTV Looks… Book 5 Tour… Movie News… and More!
Hey Evs and Nevs,
Sorry it’s been a while since my last blog! It’s been SO busy, but luckily Jun’s been around the site to pick up the slack, updating you on everything that’s been going on. It’s a cold day in New York City, and I’m in my writing chair, getting ready to work on Chapter 7 of Book 6 which is wild and crazy, so I’m just ramping up by working on this blog and giving you a little peek into everything that’s going on. Let me number things so I keep my head straight…
First off, what did you think of the Book 5 trailer? INSANE, right? Michael Blank knocked it out of the park and it’s already on its way to being our most viewed trailer ever, with over 200k views on Instagram alone, plus Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, etc. In the end, I’m sure over 1 million people will see it, which is just nutty to think about. What was your favorite moment from the trailer? This one was mine…
2. Next up, let’s talk Book 5 preorders. If you haven’t ordered your copy of Book 5 in advance… what are you waiting for! You have special editions and signed editions to choose from. Remember, there’s the B&N signed exclusive edition, which has a full color pull-out posters, featuring lost tales from the Woods (if I give you any more details, I’ll spoil big Book 5 things). Then there’s the Target exclusive edition, which has a deleted lost chapter from Book 5, which you’ll definitely want. There’s only 1000 copies of the B&N signed edition available and they’re going fast, so definitely preorder soon if you want that one… If it was up to me, I’d get all the editions, since a new SGE book is a rare occurrence… Also, don’t fret if you’re an international customer and want a personalized, signed copy. Just order from Books of Wonder on the homepage and we’ll get that out to you.

3. EverNeverTV is getting a new opening, new logo, and new attitude, courtesy of the amazing @Jun. Stay tuned for the first episode, coming very soon. (Same goes for my Instagram at @somanc, where I post most news first. 4. Movie News — we’re getting our first pass of the budget this week, and from there we’ll get into the nitty gritty of how to make this movie. Goal is to shoot this year, so stay tuned for more. Just made another LA trip to help work on it and I’ll be back in LA next month to do the same. I’m doing everything I can… What can you do? Just keep posting on social media and telling your friends about how much you love SGE. That’s the quickest way to getting the movie done
