Do you use Wattpad? You will want to join this.

Depositphotos_53875597_originalWattpad can be a great way to encourage people to read your work. I found some of my first and most active readers for Summoned via Wattpad.

That said, it can be difficult to find followers, gather votes, etc. Especially when you first start out.

This new, but growing, Facebook group can help. Not only will it help increase your visibility on Wattpad, but the members are also readers and authors who are interested in reading new books and making connections.

Get follow-for-follows, ask for re...

Fun With Memes

So, what has occurred in between the amazing wonder that is Effexor withdrawal and chasing after a puppy who thinks pieces of wire are delicious? (Where, exactly, does she even find this wire? I need to have a discussion with the house gnomes.)

I’ve made enchiladas. A lot of enchiladas. I’m not much of a cook, but I can occasionally surprise myself in the kitchen—and not just in a way that causes this face:

gross

This one is tried and true. But before I go any further, let me say a few things....

2015 Blog Stats, So Far

Primarily due to health issues, I have not blogged as much this year as I normally have. I thought, instead of waiting until the end of the year to tally up stats, I would take a cringe-worthy peek at to see how the blog is going so far.

Here’s some of the stats I found interesting:

The first quarter Winner Takes All giveaway had a total of almost 13,250 views on this blog alone. That is not counting the views for participating bloggers who reposted. It resulted in 8,876 entries on the givea...

Do you use Thunderclap? If you do, you will want to join this. #Thunderclap #amwriting #bookmarketing

fantasy wide angle background

If you haven’t used Thunderclap, you probably should check it out. It’s a great way to spread the word about new releases, book sales, etc.

In short, you create a (free) Thunderclap campaign and ask your friends and followers to support it.

All they do is click the link and sign into their social network account (Twitter, Facebook, or Tumblr). No fee for them, either.

If the Thunderclap reaches goal (minimum 100 supporters), it will go out on the date you specified so that everyone who sup...

All The Things!

I used to do this thing where I would post once a day or once a week a sort of “status update” on the nonsense that is my existence. It was oddly popular—oddly because I mostly just write or edit books—but I stopped doing it a while ago. Here’s my lame attempt at starting at it again. I can’t promise the frequency, but I’ll try for daily or every other day or at least once a week (see how I am?) as long as I can come up with something to say besides, “Words…so many words…”

In the last, well,...

Your Post About Cecil the Lion Makes You Look Ignorant

Sunset against acacia tree on african plains

For those who missed any of this, Cecil is a tagged lion that was killed in Zimbabwe, and Kevin Carter is a photographer who took a picture of a Sudanese child dying of starvation—literally. I’m not picking (yet). I often go under my rock and emerge only to say things like, “Is that a picture of Simba’s dad?” before I catch up on the news. Social media users have taken quite a liking to posting the Carter photo with a caption that reads along the lines of, Stop worrying about a dumb lion and...
