446 - Judge of Arkans on Earth

"Then…" He said slowly.  "Why?"  I fought not to go on my knees again.  Perhaps I should. He was Son of the Sun, Ultimate Judge of Arkans on earth.

"I keep telling you I'm evil," I said to the darkness behind my closed eyes. "I keep trying to warn you about me.  I'm not lying." I could feel the tears force themselves out along the edges of my eyelids and I tried to call them back, to forbid

445 - Jumble, Rubble and Ruin

I managed to keep myself stone until I got into the Marble Palace and found Kallijas already on the roof, doing that weird Yeoli exercise that looked like a dance and was sung with prayers.  I knelt there, watching, trying to let that peace sink into me but the claws in my guts wouldn't quit.

When he stopped, face raised to the growing light as the sunlight slowly filled the sky, I had to

444 - I Am a Monster

I didn't sleep at all the night before election day.  Farasha was down with her people and Gannara had started out the evening with her and come up to be with me.  I lay and listen to him breathing in the night, staring into darkness.  It was almost the dark of the moon and her face was too low to shine past the rim, so there was only faint starlight. After today, it will be done.  Chevenga's

443 - You Lost

AN:  Graphic Warning.  A description of Hayel. This is gross, even for me.

442 - A Madhouse and Getting Wilder

Excerpt from Pages of Arko, Anae 24, 51st to last Year of the Present Age – "Election plot foiled: Yeolis working for Itzan charged!"By Roras Jaenenem  --"I've been steeped in Yeoli politics since I learned to speak," Shefenkas said. "And part of my education was the history of it, right back to our founding. If anything like this ever happened, history does not know it. I was always taught,

441 - Trying to Steal

"Serin?" This was getting uncomfortable very quickly.  I had just closed the door of the garderobe behind me. Thank goodness no one would follow me into that private little room…"Yes?""A message from the Marble Palace, Serin."I took it and nodded.  "Thank you."It was from Kall, saying that Chevenga wanted to see us both as soon as possible.  I donned my skates and glided out to Atzana and

AN

Sorry, I cannot finish my post tonight.  I am so tired and still cannot see a computer screen well.

My apologies all around.  I'll have something for you tomorrow.

We're getting really close to this election....

440 - The Unrelenting Tide Continues

There once was a man named Kin
Who committed an equine sin.
"Don't call me an ass,"
"Because my lovers eat grass,"
"This activity keeps me quite thin!"

**

There once was a perverted Arkan
whose lovers were more than just barkin'
his neighbors said 'no way'
his true love says 'neigh'
and horrid puns'r forever remarkin'?"

Boom, patta patta patta. Boom, patta, patta, patta, Boom!
You see

439 - It Makes Life Weird

My mother looked different somehow.  I wasn't sure what it was.  There was no sign of the mother stone but I did not expect it.  She might never wear it, for all that she had accepted it. She was, as always, dressed in her Mahid black and greys, but Grandfather had decreed that other colours were mandatory for the new Mahid.  So she wore a fichu of a rich burgundy with a tiny bright thread in

438 - A Tell-All Book Deal

I am dancing with a flame.  I catch the strand of sunfire in my arms and we are dancing a falisas. I am worried that I cannot dance well enough and it stiffens me, and I stumble and trip right over into the fire.It washes around me and vanishes and I tumble into darkness.  I fall and and fall and fall and I cry out but there is no air.  A silver disk grows in my sight, the Goddess's Eye but it
