535 - The Scars Upon Your Soul

It took a little time to get him out of the crowd afterward and geared up for his own aska kraiya speech, and the crowd took some time to settle.
When Chevenga stood up to make his address Kallijas was at his elbow and Che nodded at him and waved him back.
"My People, Whom I love…"  is how he started.  There are multiple accounts written of this famous address, but what I paid most attention to

534 - You have to Breathe Sometime, Chevenga!

He blinked, looking non-plussed.  What did he expect?  Of course, the greater part of the ceremony would be his asa kraiya address, rather than his response to this genteelly despised and reluctantly received award.
He thanked everyone he thought should be thanked and answered the jibes from the crowd when they disavowed their parts.  "I could have done nothing without you." The cheers and

I am afraid I could not manage the continous post today.  I might post the rewrite of the Mahid proposal, if I'm lucky.

533 - Speech, Ch'venga! Speech!

The chorus was unearthly.  I was continually astonished at what the Yeola-e two-voiced singers could do, not only alone, but in chorus and with a chorus of single voiced singers.  Perhaps I would ask Assembly to send some to Arko, if they pleased to perform, or perhaps some korashun would wish to pay their way in hopes of acquiring the stadium revenues. Next to me, Serina Si Rusa was moved to

532 - Is it Always this Cold?

The wind off the mountains might be considered cool and brisk to the Yeolis all around us.  Kallijas, up on the platform didn't seem affected but it seemed much colder to me than I remembered.  Laisa was bundled in a gold fur cloak that Kallijas had insisted she bring, right next to me.
I offered her my elbow and she took it.  Not that she needed support against all the people around us.  She

Comment Space for Hair Fighting Styles

This is the space for commentary on the Hair Fighting styles in Arko.

Personally I believe that some solas know about them, some do not.  The solas themselves do not have long enough hair, at least not till now, to actually fight.

At least one person has commented that prostitutes with false hair clips, wigs and implants might fight like this.  These would be street prostitutes, not Maskers.

531 - An Arts and Graces of Hair Class

The young Serinas down in the atrium of the Silver Night Sun, are a little older'n me and I'm not supposed to be watching them.  But Regent Kallijas and my big brother went off to some ceremony in Yeola-e and I wanted to come.  But they left me and I'm very angry with them.  I'm furious.
I didn't want to do all this boring listening to Ailadas and preparing essays for Gian when he and his

Author's Note

Hi guys!

We made it safe to Tulsa last night and crashed pretty hard.  I admit I laid down on the kitchen floor for a bit when we came in!

I missed a perfect opportunity to create the Road Trip from Hell; how to ruin relationships and make your kids hate you. I'll have to write about how that can be done, to post on Backhouse Rat.

I will post current pictures of Interrobang and her kitten

530 - No Cloaks

I didn't even see Kall or Chevenga at the morning breakfast table, the same wonderful chaos that it had been for dinner, and thought it must be some combination of them wanting time together, or Chevenga needing to do preparations and Kallijas going over what he was going to say for the ceremony.
It was all very quiet that Kallijas was going to be recounting Chevenga's career as a warrior.  It
