Who draws better butts than Serpieri?

This gets into theories I have about about Europe/Japan/America comic kings. So in the past it was Herge (Europe) /Tezuka (Japan) /& Kirby (USA) and they were replaced in the 80′s by Moebius/Let’s say Otomo (?) and Miller. – who it is now is harder for me to even say-I’d guess Urasawa for Japan.  but, and I mean butt– applying this to butt drawings.

So say it’s Serpieri for Europe

For Japan I’d say, Masakazu Katsura of Shadowlady and Video Girl Ai fame is a strong contender.

There’s even a series of photos here of him instructing how he draws butts. Dude is serious.

And in America it’s pretty hard to argue against it being Crumb

also from Japan Rockin Jelly bean– but this starts to mess up my whole trifecta theory–maybe it was

Masakazu Katsura in the 80′s or 90′s and it’s RJB now. I’m sure there’s a panel of butt judges who decide these things

Also shout out to Mark Beachum

popgunwar:

#20202020 #dailydrawing 27 of 366 from my @imagecomics graphic novel series, POP GUN WAR.Continuing with the villain theme from yesterday Mr. Grimshaw is the corporate henchman for King Doll who also created one of the “pinochobots” standing next to Grimshaw.i inked the drawing with a Raphael 8404 #3 brush which took me about 20 minutes. I was going to leave it uncolored at first but thought it would be be pretty quick work to add some tone. i should have changed my water before starting as i ran into some trouble and it ended up taking me about 40 minutes to color it. Both volumes of POP GUN WAR are available for purchase and several original pages from the second volume are available for purchase from my art dealer, the beguiling. The sketch for this sat on my @patreon all week and no one claimed it. Subscribe for only $2-$4 a month to get a sneak peak and a chance to claim drawings i am doing for the week all year long plus other behind the scenes stuff.
