HMMmmmmmm. I don’t think I’ve ever typed the word “problematic” before in my 39 years of life on this globe.

Here’s a quote I did say from an older Tumbr question asking about “watching porn and objectifying trans women” you can read here

“Ideally I don’t wanna objectify anyone. I’m certainly aware that there can be issues in both the making and viewing of porn, but I think it’s worth respecting the decisions of people who choose to make porn for a living. And without claiming to be the final judge of which is which, I think it’s worth pointing out that sexualization and objectification aren’t the same thing, and somebody can be sexual, or perform sex, without inviting objectification.

I can certainly see an argument for a lot more than just sexual representations of trans women- since that seems to be the vast majority of how they are shown. I don’t really have the same sympathy for sexual images of Richie Rich or Archie or whatever I’ve done recently. (If anything I might even argue that I made Reggie less lame by giving him a tegan and sara haircut. )

Anyyyway. I’m not even sure I can always claim to be a steadfast stone of logic and moral consistency. My ideas on things change with new experiences and new information. I’m interested in having real conversations about this stuff, which I think ideally does more good than just sarcastic anonymous messages.

So I'm re-reading MW and I'm really into the way you juggle the "story within a story" element of nikolai & sex/alexander and the wolf. It seems different to your aproaches in KC or even Prophet. Was that something you had been waiting to try?

Thanks. I’m never quite sure how that reads. I feel like when I’m doing books like KC or Prophet that it’s almost ok for Warheads to flop around directionless a little more. Still sometimes I wish I let it go even more in that direction of no direction. The stuff I’m working on for it now is like a wizard heist comic,  but I am having fun with it sooo I can’t complain.

I really like the way the cartoon Adventure time uses different mini stories to build on the larger world. I hope the 2nd MW trade has some of that feeling in it when it’s done.

What's the reading order of Multiple Warheads? I noticed yesterday that Oni published a story way back when, before Alphabet to Infinity. The comic is selling for some $$$ on ebay, so I;m on the fence on whether to buy it. From my understanding this is all

The First Warheads was the porn short that ran in Sizzle magazine and on Slipshine. then the Elevator short that ran in the Escalator collection.

Next is The fall – the Oni book is the same stuff that I reprinted at Image as “DOWN FALL”  and then Alphabet to infinity –and then Ghost town (the stuff running in ISLAND now)  The $18. Alphabet to infinity trade Image put out has everything Warheads that I did before the stuff in ISLAND. (including the old porn that started it –that you can read here)– 

I think Ghost town will be another chapter and then I’m gonna do some Nura and other character stories to make a decent sized 2nd trade. 

(right now I’m getting the 1st 10 pages of the last chapter done and then I think I’m starting a new 60 page thing that I draw at the same time— for no good reason other than I wanna get some new stuff underway)
