What are your thoughts on pen names? I want to use one because my real name is PAINFULLY common, and I have one I kinda like, but I'm worried that other people might not think it's good

Hello there, writerly friend~ ♥︎

I am originally from Mexico, and thus I have not one buttwo last names, which is kind of an eye-sore and proved to be really problematic when designing...

Do you think it'd be necessary to go to a writing school for a person to be a good writer? Did you attend a professional writing school?

Hello there, writerly friend~ ♥︎

I’m actually kind of surprised that I have yet to touch on this subject. So, I would like to thank you for sending in your question c; That being said, the answer to your question is pretty simple.

Short answer:

No.

Long answer:

Neil Gaiman, Maya Angelou, H. G. Wells, Mark Twain,Charles Dickens, J. K. Rowling (who got a B.A in French, of all things xD),Arthur Conan Doyle,Ray Bradbury (which I think it’s the most ironic, seeing as how SO MANY people in high school g...

✐ DAILY WEIRD PROMPT✐

HEROES NEVER RETIRE

Write a story from the point of view of a character as they sacrifice themselves to save the world. The catch? This character opens their eyes, and they find themselves alive. Double catch? They are somewhere far away, in a place in need of ‘heroes,’

“If you simply sing the words or play the notes without feeling the music, no one will experience the song as it’s meant to be. The same can be said for the books you write. If you don’t feel the words while writing, your readers won’t truly connect with your story.”
