Pre-Order Release Fantasy Isle - Michelle Hughes

Do you ever have those days when you smack yourself in the forehead and wonder what you were thinking?  That just happened to me.  I didn't realize when I put the first book of Fantasy Isle on Pre-Order for Monday September 3rd, that is was Labor Day.  While I was planning for my mother's birthday this weekend, which of course ranks much higher in importance than anything else, it completely slipped my mind that there was a major holiday around the corner.  What's a girl to do?  Go ahead and publish the book on the day it was scheduled to go out, and hope that readers will pre-order and not forget about the release date.  So that's what I'm doing, and why I'm writing an early release post for Fantasy Isle (Forbidden - Book One).  There will be another post on Labor Day announcing the release, so forgive me in advance for double dipping, so to speak.

With all that being said, here is the post that will go out on Labor Day and you're getting a sneak peek in today.  The links will work today since it's available as a pre-order.  Please share if you don't mind, because I'm pretty sure everyone will be out enjoying family, friends, and cookout on the actual release date, I know I will be.  Much love!

Music Review - Journey and Def Leppard 2018 at the BJCC

Journey and Def Leppard rocked down the house in Birmingham last night with a performance that kept the crowd on their feet.  Arnel Pineda, with powerhouse vocals and an unstoppable energy, kicked off the night as Journey’s lead singer.  Neal Schon amazed the crowd with incredible guitar licks and his solo was one of the most impressive of the evening.   Ross Valory, Jonathan Cain and Steve Smith performed like the rock gods they were and the energy in the packed Legacy Arena was charged from beginning.  It was a nonstop two-hour journey into musical nirvana.  The only hiccup came from the sound guys who overdid the bass, but it was so minor it didn’t take away from the show.
After a brief intermission, Def Leppard took the stage to a standing ovation and put on one of the most amazing laser lights shows along with performances that proved they still had the power to hypnotize the crowd with their musical talent.  Joe Elliot, lead singer, was even more dynamic than when I saw him in the 80’s and like a fine wine he’s vocals have aged to perfection.  Rick Allen, drummer, brought the audience to their knees with his stunning drum solo, still a crowd favorite.  Phil Collen’s energy was off the charts, as he ripped notes on his guitar.   Rick Savage on bass guitar was just as amazing and showed that he still has the talent to bring down a house.  Steve Clark and Vivian Campbell were incredible rounding out this powerhouse band that can still pull a crowd to their feet.  The only disconnect was that Steve Clark seemed almost pushed to the back instead of part of the band as they played.
It was a concert worthy of any rock lovers time.  Five stars from Tears of Crimson, and if they come back next year to Birmingham, Alabama I’ll be seeing them again.  On a personal note it was my daughter’s first live concert, and I couldn’t have asked for a better one to show her how a show was supposed to be done.  Rock on folks, and make sure to pick up tickets for this show if you’re looking for a night of entertainment!

It was a great walk in the rain before we made it into the Legacy concert hall at the BJCC in Birmingham, Alabama, and worth every second.  Somehow my daughter managed to look like a supermodel, and I was more of drowned rat, but what can I say?  I raise great kids.  When we first arrived the crowd was building outside to the point where people were waiting around the corner to gain entry.  Those empty seats behind us, didn't stay empty long, and I don't know if the show sold out but it was packed to the point where it seemed like it.  During intermission, it was like being a sardine in a can as you tried to get refreshments, but that was all part of the thrill.  I'd like to say thank you to the BJCC, Journey, and Def Leppard for a night me or my daughter won't soon forget!
