Nicotine Vaping is NOT the Culprit Behind Recent Lung Issues According To CDC and the FDA
The recent scare tactic to get people to stop vaping has nothing to do with nicotine, and the FDA and CDC have both stated this, why still labeling it vaping. You can read the article presented by the FDA here:

"...many of the samples tested by the states or by the FDA as part of this ongoing investigation have been identified as vaping products containing tetrahydrocannabinol (or THC, a psychoactive component of the marijuana plant)."

Moreover, according to an article in the New York Times, “Public health officials have underscored one fundamental point: that the surge in illnesses is a new phenomenon and not merely a recognition of a syndrome that may have been developing for years.” In other words, these cases of lung illness are unlikely to be a result of long-term use of vapor products–nicotine or THC."
I encourage you to read that above paragraph again and let it be known that NONE OF THE CASES ARE LINKED to legal, commercially available NICOTINE products. That cannot be stressed enough. I'm not here to throw the marijuana (THC) sellers under the bus either, because it appears that this was also from black-market versions being sold on the streets and not legal vendors of said products. While I have never used a THC product, nor have the inclination to do so, it's imperative that the public has information that is truthful and concise, so I've added it here.
Governor of Michigan, Gretchen Whitmer, overstepped her boundaries without having conclusive information or chose to ignore it to further her agenda to destroy vaping in her state. Only she can validate the reason for her failure in protecting public health, so I'll leave those answers to her. She can be contacted via her website at https://www.michigan.gov/whitmer/ and I do encourage you to reach out to her office and ask why she jumped the gun, making such a totalitarian decision. Her decision to create a flavor ban without respecting the rights of her constituents as adults to choose a smoking cessation that works for them is a gross overreach and should be called out. She has also opened the door to other totalitarian governors to follow in her footsteps, which is something we will be watching very carefully over the next few months. This is a huge determent to vape shop owners in Michigan and I encourage those small business owners to work together to put a lawsuit against her overreach of power and violating the rights of adult Americans in her geographic location.
The readers that know me, understand that after a COPD diagnosis in 2015, I turned to vaping as my smoking cessation method when all pharmaceutical options had failed me. I have not stopped vaping, nor will I, and fully support vaping as the number one success method. I have undeniable proof that since switching completely to vaping and not smoking in 2015, my pulmonary function tests have steadily improved and scientifically that evidence gives me all the information I need to make a personal decision for myself.
What my readers may, or may not know is that I worked as a respiratory technician from 2001-2008, until I began a full-time writing career. During those years, I watched many of my patients die or end up on ventilators from cigarette smoking, and even I couldn't stop the horrible addictive nature of smoking. Vaping was the only thing that turned me away from cigarettes. This has been a very positive experience for me, and I have not had bronchitis or pneumonia (Chronic Bronchitis was the reason for my COPD diagnosis) since I began vaping. Those facts speak volumes to me. The facts remain that smoking cigarettes is responsible for over 400,000 deaths in America alone. It is my opinion that until every single pack of cigarettes is removed from the shelves, that banning vaping, either by flavor bans, or anything else, should not even be a consideration for public health.
Don't take my word for that fact in the photo above. The FDA has compiled information stating the horrible effects of smoking on American and have listed facts that are as follows:
Smoking leads to disease and disability and harms nearly every organ of the body.1More than 16 million Americans are living with a disease caused by smoking.For every person who dies because of smoking, at least 30 people live with a serious smoking-related illness.Smoking causes cancer, heart disease, stroke, lung diseases, diabetes, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which includes emphysema and chronic bronchitis.Smoking also increases risk for tuberculosis, certain eye diseases, and problems of the immune system, including rheumatoid arthritis.Smoking is a known cause of erectile dysfunction in males.Smoking is the leading cause of preventable death.Worldwide, tobacco use causes more than 7 million deaths per year.2 If the pattern of smoking all over the globe doesn’t change, more than 8 million people a year will die from diseases related to tobacco use by 2030.3Cigarette smoking is responsible for more than 480,000 deaths per year in the United States, including more than 41,000 deaths resulting from secondhand smoke exposure. Michigan Governor Infringes on Rights of Adult Vapers!
Michigan governor, Gretchen Whitmer (D) declared a public health emergency this week for those who use e-cigarettes and banned flavored vaping products. This gross overreach of power must be stopped immediately, and we are calling for all vaping advocates to stand together and fight this action. This type of power play is an afront to adults all over the United States, making this not a Michigan only issue, but a United States Citizen issue. Infringing on the rights of adults to choose what type of smoking cessation they find works for them and banning flavored products when it’s illegal for minors to obtain them demands recourse!
For non-vaping individuals, this concerns you as well. Prohibition of any kind should be fought against because history has shown us exactly what happens. It is a well-known fact that smoking combustible cigarettes kills over 400,000 people a year in the United States alone. For those of age that remember life before vaping, non-flavored cigarettes were readily consumed, and it stands to reason that underage youth will turn back to that even if all vaping products were removed from consumer use. Tears of Crimson does not condone underage vaping, or consumption of any product meant for adult use only. We do believe since laws already exist against underage vaping that you have no rights to ban a product due to lack of upholding existing laws for law-abiding adults.
As stated earlier, this is a gross overreach of power and Governor Whitmer must be held accountable for her actions. We do not have a communist government and no person has the right to shut down businesses geared toward adults choosing to use flavored nicotine products as an effort to stop smoking combustible cigarettes. Small businesses will be forced to close their doors if flavored e-liquid is banned. We at Tears of Crimson, are demanding an immediate reversal to this so-called health emergency and furthermore demand that Governor Whitmer prove in a court of law that there is a scientific reason for such an emergency to be called for. If she cannot give that proof, we request that she cease and desist immediately and be held in contempt for violating her authority in this manner.
We would be lax to not show that Michigan receives over nine hundred million dollars a year from taxes off combustible cigarettes and if people are vaping and not smoking those tax dollars would significantly decrease. This information can be found here State ofMichigan Revenue. These facts might have something to do with the current ban and should be researched so that you can come to your conclusion about how this might be incorporated.
We must hold our government accountable for their actions, to not do so means that they have the right to remove freedoms from adults on any action they deem worthy. That is not a democracy, it’s nothing more than tyranny. It’s worthwhile to note that according to the 2017 CDC Statistics report for Michigan the leading causes of death were 1. Heart Disease 2. Cancer and 3. Chronic Lower Respiratory Disease. All of which can be associated with combustible cigarette smoking, not vaping. It seems reasonable to believe that if an emergency health action was to be called out it would be cigarettes and not flavored e-liquid. We encourage you to flood Governor Whitmer’s office with calls about her recent decision. Contact information can be found below.

Street Drugs in a Vaping Mod IS NOT VAPING!
I wanted to share an email that I received from the wonderful people at CASAA. Please note, I DID NOT write this article, I am simply sharing for those that might not be connected to the vaping world!
As expected, reports of people being hospitalized due to a “mystery lung disease” continue to grow. The non-communicable lung disease that is increasingly being linked to products such as K2/Spice and/or adulterated THC cartridges--sold by underground sellers--is now under investigation in 22 states including CA, CT, FL, IL, IN, IA, MN, MI, NC, NJ, NM, NY, PA, TX, UT, WI, and as of Thursday, Colorado has its first confirmed case.
As of Friday morning, one death in Illinois is being attributed to an unknown substance that people are consuming by way of vaping. CASAA extends our condolences to the family and share in everyone’s disappointment in knowing that this tragic death could have been prevented if more compassionate policies were in place.
In last week’s Heads Up Round Up we briefly highlighted the concern that state and federal drug policy is complicating diagnosis, patient care, and accurate reporting about these clusters of lung disease. But in the wake of these reported illnesses, almost all of the usual anti-tobacco campaigners are using this event to elevate their cries for an all-out ban on nicotine vaping products--especially e-liquids sold in flavors other than tobacco.
Anti-tobacco campaigners are advocating for policies that will do absolutely nothing to prevent events like this in the future. Rather, it is more likely that heavy regulation--even if it isn’t total prohibition--will lead to more instances of people being harmed by fake pot, adulterated THC, or poorly manufactured nicotine products sold on an unregulated, illicit market. According to an article on TechCrunch, the FDA is still uncertain if the products being used even fall under the agency’s regulatory authority.
CASAA is reaffirming our advice to consumers that vapor products (THC and nicotine) should be purchased from reputable sources and not “on the street.” We also note that the terminology used to discuss this issue can benefit from including a clear distinction between nicotine vaping, THC/cannabis vaping, and synthetic cannabinoid vaping (k2/spice). Simply reporting that a mysterious lung disease is generally attributable to “vaping” will have harmful unintended consequences such as sending people back to combustible tobacco or discouraging them from making the switch at all.

Honey Gold, a Browser Add-On That Saves Money

I'm pretty leery when it comes to adding things to my browser, but Honey has been a great addition. I do a lot of shopping online, and Honey looks for coupons that I can use before pushing the buy button. Normally, I wouldn't talk about stuff like this, but since it has helped me, I figured I'd share the love.
On top of getting coupons for stores online, you also get rewarded for some purchases. When I bought my Alienware it gave me 3,000 reward points which I was able to use and get $30 in Amazon gift cards. As my husband likes to say (sarcastically, I might add) saving money. The way I see it if you're going to shop online anyway, why not get a little reward for doing it.

Demonic Hollywood Encouraging Violence Against Republicans - The Hunt

"Did anyone see what our ratf**ker-in-chief just did?" one character asks early in the screenplay for The Hunt, a Universal Pictures thriller set to open Sept. 27. Another responds: "At least The Hunt's coming up. Nothing better than going out to the Manor and slaughtering a dozen deplorables."
As our President is being called to task for inciting violence, I think it's evident from this, and many other instances of Democrat hypocrisy that they are the ones, in fact, inciting violence. I personally think this is a film that should be banned. A boycott, and perhaps a protest at any theater this type of hatred film is aired in would also be a smart idea.
Hollywood, CNN, and MSNBC are the true creators of violence among our youth. It's past time they were called out on it. If this doesn't make you take a step back and open your eyes, I'm not sure what will.
