Alice”   An Evening with Alice Walker at Trinity College   Article 1997 Reprint: The Only Reason You Want to Go to Heaven is That You Have Been Driven Out of Your Mind by Alice Walker “the only reason you want to go to heaven is that you have been driven out of your mind (off your land and out of your lover’s arms)” Unto the woman God said: I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and t...

Ex Google Officer Finally Speaks Out On The Dangers Of AI Mo Gawdat Podcast 2023

EMERGENCY EPISODE Mo Gawdat Podcast E252 “It is not about how long.” Mo Gawdat Along with other things I didn’t ask for, Tik Tok appeared on my computer.  Often the snippets of American life are sad and depressing; we see we are losing, if we ever had it, a grace that drug use, homelessness, terror, war, insufficient food, violence – sexual and otherwise –  are designed to stamp out.  America and Americans did exhibit a grace.  Perhaps it was the grace of innocence.  Or ignorance. In any case I ...

Sanaaq, the first Inuit novel

Sanaaq, an Inuit Novel by Mitiarjuk Nappaaluk Copyright 2023 by Alice Walker Some things we never expect to see or hear:  how the ancients really looked.  How they sounded.  What they thought about when relaxed. When worried. What of friendship? What was the way of sex?  Of childbirth and having children? Who hunted and fished?  Were women capable of sustaining family life alone?  Were men? Was there “power over” male to female?  How did they manage to stay warm in ice houses? Centuries of Inuit...

Why Do Men In Power Want More Children?

MOLOCH Why Do Men In Power  Want More Children? (After viewing “Baby Farming in Ukraine.” See: Redacted.) ©2023 by Alice Walker  Because children, helpless in a world of nefarious adults, are a resource that can be used, abused, trashed and discarded as is so much of the unprotected planet. They want them for “sex”,(pedophilia), they want them for slaves, they want them for body parts. They want to “harvest” whatever they can of children’s bodies to enhance their own pathetic lives. Organ traffi...

The Tailor

The  Tailor My response to The Tailor, a Turkish series on Netflix, was so strong I’ve spent weeks wondering why. I watched it several times: the characters speaking (of course) Turkish, the dubbing in English, and the subtitles in Spanish, which is one of the ways I attempt to understand more of that beautiful language. It is an extraordinary story and one with depth not often seen on screen.  But what was it that captivated me in the same way I was enthralled by stories read to me when I was a...
