#PNWA Autograph Party and promos

Hello all,

Tonight I am at the PNWA Autograph party.  If you’re in the SeaTac Area, please stop by and say “HI”.  I’ll be with a lot of other Northwest authors and it should be a fun evening.

Also, if you’ve been interested in my Space Tripping book, you can find a free preview here.  (I’m under Humor.)  Plus there are a ton of other great books.

Happy Reading!

Poetry posts and Review of Events

Women bullying other women at work impacts women's advancement and ...

This morning my post is up on the Writer’s Cooperative of the Pacific Northwest.  It’s a song lyric from my first Shredded Orphans novel “Space Tripping with the Shredded Orphans”.  Check it out here:

In other news, I had two great events in the past few weeks.  At the end of April I had a delightful time with 14 other authors at a book signing at the University Bookstore in Mill Creek.  It was a fun evening filled with books and food.

The other was my very first book reading at the Neverending Bookshop in Bothell.  It was  so nice to see everyone who turned out for it and the owner, Annie, did a great job of setting up for the event and making me feel welcome and comfortable.  I read the first chapter of “Space Tripping with the Shredded Orphans“, part of “The Shredded Orphans and the Space Pirates” and a smattering of poems from “Requite Me: Poems of Love Jealousy and Angst“.  The two hours just flew by.  Also, there were brownies and banana muffins.  What more could you want?

#BookSignings and #RecordStoreDay Make Me Smile!

Saturday April 22 is Record Store Day!  I know, you’ve been waiting all year for this.

Click the record above to go to their website, where you can view or download a list of the limited edition vinyl that will be available.  Personally, I’m interested in the David Bowie and the Ramones records.  I was quite surprised by the Corey Feldman release and check out the great “Prince before he was Prince” album cover.  Super cute!

What TIme Is It?

I know many of you aren’t into vinyl and don’t own a record player (gasp!), but I encourage you to run down to your favorite record store (or if that’s no more, then any near you) and show them some music love tomorrow!

Book Signings or Author Sightings

I’m doing two (yes you read that right!), two book signing events in the next five weeks.  I’ll be at the UW Mill Creek University Book Store on April 27th from 4-7pm with fourteen fabulous local authors from the Writers Cooperative of the Pacific Northwest.  We’ll have refreshments, tell you a little about our books and do a little Q&A.  Come and join the Book Release Party!  I’d love to see you there!

Also, I’m at The Neverending Bookshop in Bothell on May 20th from noon to 2pm.  This is a fabulous little new and used bookstore that opened almost two years ago.  I love the idea of supporting this independent bookstore and having her be able to have me in to speak about my book.  It’s such a great opportunity.  I hope you’ll stop by and give her some book love!  (I’ll probably even bake you some brownies!)

Happy Little Poetry Month and National Library Week #PoetryMonth #NationalLibraryWeek

I hope you are all enjoying April, its showers and poetry month.  Here is a link to three years ago my first post where I had a full month of poems to celebrate.  They were great and I had a lot of fun doing it.  If you’re looking for some of my poetry, you can find traces in both my Shredded Orphans novels or a complete book of it in Requite Me: Poems of Love, Jealousy and Angst.   Click the picture below

This week is also National Library Week, so celebrate by heading to your local library and availing yourself of their many resources.  Here’s an article about how libraries are good at fighting fake news and the current state of the library.

It’s so important these days to have information, knowledge, available to the people, so we can make our own informed decisions, which is why this news story saddens me.  Click the link and scroll down to the post about Mexican newspapers closing due to the assassinations of journalists in order to suppress news.  I grew up in the 70’s and somehow I feel the world has gotten worse, more violent.  Maybe it’s just that the 80’s were so much fun?

And what could be more fun than Cyndi Lauper?

Happy Poetry Month and Have Fun!

NaNoWriMo and The Simpsons

With the National Novel Writing Month on at the same time as FXX’s 600-episode Simpsons marathon, I figure now was a good time to writing down the “Simpsons Writing Theory” that I’ve been thinking …

GoodReads Giveaway winners of Space Tripping with the Shredded Orphans!

bookcoverfinalized_1

Thanks to all 544 people who entered the GoodReads giveaway for Space Tripping with the Shredded Orphans.   I wish I could send you all a copy of the book.  The two lucky giveaway winners are Melissa and Sheri.

Shredded Orphans and the Space Pirates_200

I’m so thrilled with the response to this giveaway.  It’s the first GoodReads giveaway that I’ve done in celebration of the release of The Shredded Orphans and the Space Pirates, book two in the series.  I’ll definitely think about doing another giveaway for book two at some point in the future.

Thanks again to all who entered.  I really appreciate your interest in my books!

Happy Reading!
