10/6/14 – day six of 31 days of horror!

This delightful 80s slasher is masterfully directed and staged by Argento protege Michelle Soavi and features an owl-headed slasher named Irving Wallace. Today’s pick is “Stage Fright”, aka “Deliria”! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092576/?ref_=fn_al_tt_3

10/5/14 – day five of 31 days of horror!

Warning: Not for the pregnant or squeamish! My favorite of the French New wave of horror, this grisly shocker features some of the tensest, most visceral scenes ever filmed and an awesomely terrifying performance by a blood-soaked Beatrice “Betty Blue” Dalle. Today’s pick: Inside!

10/4/14 – day four of 31 days of horror!

Classic time. As a kid, I was always way more into Frankenstein, Dracula, the Wolf Man and the Creature from the Black Lagoon, but when I finally got around to giving this guy a chance, I was blown away. Great effects for the time, atmospherically directed by James Whale and a truly dizzying and sadistic performance from Claude Rains as…The Invisible Man!

10/2/14 – day two of 31 days of horror!

Who doesn’t love a murderous hand with a mind of its own? Jeff Fahey doesn’t in this under appreciated body horror film from 1991 directed by real life road rage killer Eric Red! Today’s recommendation: “Body Parts”

10/1/14 – day one of 31 days of horror!

People ask me for a lot of horror movie recommendations this time of year, so I decided that this year I would simply recommend one horror movie for every day of October. These are not reviews, just films I enjoy and they will range from the obscure to the well known. Anyway, I start the month off with 1981’s Satanic computer classic, “Evilspeak”.
