PUS JUNKIES: a review

image

Click here to buy PUS JUNKIES by Shane McKenzie

The review:

PUS JUNKIES is nasty. Like nasty-nasty. It is a gross out high school drama bizarro story. But it’s also horror. It’s kind of more horror than bizarro. But it’s gross and it’s Shane Mckenzie so you can kind of assume it’s going to be nasty and drippy and a bit unsettling.

Kip has acne. Terrible acne. The worst acne in the history of puberty. It’s so bad that he’s basically a monster. The kids at school call him The Toad. They hate him....

HUNGRY BUG: a review

Click here to purchase HUNGRY BUG by Carlton Mellick III

the review:

HUNGRY BUG is a novel that is made up of connected short stories. Kind of. Each one can be read on its one and still be enjoyed. But reading them all together, like a book, fits more of the pieces of the crazy puzzle together. The book focuses on magic, and what happens to people when they use it. When they use too much of it. It is also about family and growing up and addiction and friends.

This is a world where magic exists....

THERE'S NO HAPPY ENDING: a review/interview

Click here to buy THERE’S NO HAPPY ENDING by Tiffany Scandal.

The review:

Tiffany Scandal’s entry to the New Bizarro Author Series is the seriously bleak THERE’S NO HAPPY ENDING. This is not an ironic title. The name should give it all away, but that doesn’t mean the ride can’t be enjoyable.

The world is ending (like seriously). It is falling apart and melting and rotting and people are turning into zombies (kind of) and rich people are still assholes (so that’s basically the same – there’...

THE CHEAT CODE FOR GOD MODE: a review/interview

image

Click here to buy THE CHEAT CODE FOR GOD MODE by Andy de Fonseca

The Review:

Andy De Fonseca’s New Bizarro Author Series book, THE CHEAT CODE FOR GOD MODE, is super-geeky, fun and smart. It asks some pretty big questions about the world we live in, and also of the universe as a whole. Questions like who are we? and more importantly, why are we?

Margy Plum and Victor Vance are geeks, like super geeks. They don’t really do anything but play video games. Old games, out dated games, they love them a...

BABES IN GANGLAND: a review/interview

The second book from this year’s New Bizarro Author Series I read was BABES IN GANGLAND by Bix Skahill. Bix is hilarious, maybe even one of the funniest human males I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. We met recently at Bizarro Con and instantly became BEST FRIENDS.

GRAMBO: a review/interview

This will be the first in a six-part series in which I read/review and then interview the authors of this year’s New Bizarro Author Series. (Depending how randy I’m feeling at the end, maybe I’ll do a mock review/interview with myself for the seventh and final book of the series. Who knows.)

The first book I read was GRAMBO by Dustin Reade.

Click here to go to the GRAMBO amazon page, and purchase this bad boy.

and so…
