Happy Holidays!
With the year about to wrap you and a new year upon us, there’s so much I’m excited to share with all of you. This month is a busy month for most, myself included. Between writing, working, SHOPPING and spending time with family, I’m exhausted from the fast pace that’s set for me this month.
As things begin to settle down, the new year will be here and there are SO many wonderful and exciting things happening in 2018. Here’s a rundown of what’s in store for the coming months…

Rumors, Episode #1
Coming soon from Award-Winning Romance Author Rachael Brownell… The Rumors Series!
Six stand-alone novels, all releasing within six months.
So when does book 1 release? Not until March 22, 2018, but here’s a preview of book 1, Ryder and Emerson’s story, as well as what you can expect from the rest of the series…
The series follows a group of men and women that work together at an advertising agency. There are eight main characters. I’m going to break it down for you a little.
Ryder, Hunter and Tyler Dixon… the Dixon Brothers. Each is the CEO of their respective department. Each has their own personal assistant: Emerson (Ryder), Allison (Hunter), and Justine (Tyler). The other two main characters you’ll meet are Angela, Tyler’s girlfriend and Emerson’s best friend, and Megan, Ryder’s wife and Allison’s best friend.
Each book will be a stand-alone novel, however, if you want the full experience and want to see how each relationship progresses (because there are 12 – 20 relationships that will be covered in six books) I recommend reading the series in order. Also, the end of each book will set up the next book, the next relationship, the next rumor…
For more on the series, click HERE to be taken to the series landing page.
Now, as far as book one goes, here’s your sneak peak. I start off giving you Ryder and Emerson’s story.
**unedited**
Out of the corner of my eye, I notice the elevator doors slide open and Helen stands to greet the visitor.
It’s him.
It has to be.
He towers over Helen as he pulls her in for a hug. If Hunter is tall, Ryder is a giant.
Turning toward me, our eyes meet and I confirm that he’s a Dixon brother. Those eyes, light sandy brown in color. His hair is lighter, dark brown instead of black, gelled back in place, and looks long enough to run your fingers, maybe even grip onto, but cut above his ears cleanly.
Standing, I take in the full view.
His suit jacket is neatly folded over his arm, leaving him in only a white, button-down dress shirt with the sleeves rolled almost to his elbows. The shirt is either too small or he’s that defined because I can see the outline of his chest through the fabric as it stretches in an attempt to accommodate him.
I wondered if he would be a mix of his older brothers and now I don’t have to guess. He’s a happy medium, only sexier. Dangerously sexy. One look at him and my pulse is racing, my palms beginning to sweat. No wonder Ian didn’t want me working for him.
Ian.
Shit. I’m ogling my boss, noticeably, and I have a boyfriend. It’s not like I’m going to act on the sexual desires that are building as he walks closer to me, a sly grin on his face, causing a small dimple to appear on his left cheek.
Nope.
Can’t act on those needs.
That would be wrong.
For so many reasons.

Straight Shooter
If you’ve read any of my books you know how much I LOVE my supporting characters, especially the best friend. I put a lot into those characters. I pull from a variety of people I know and love. My personal bestie is always well represented in each character. I mean, she’s the greatest so why wouldn’t I include her in the characters I love so much?
Well, my #nano project this year is no exception. Here’s a little bit from Chloe’s snarky but smart and supportive bestie, Addison.
“You know I hate the unexpected, Addy.”
“I know, but you’re just going to have to roll with the punches this time. Love can’t be scripted. It’s always the unknown variable. Things might turn out great, they might turn out shitty. You can’t control what happens or how he reacts. All you can do is hope for the best and prepare for the worst.”
Nodding, I down my entire glass of wine and head inside to grab another bottle from the cellar. If I can’t control what happens tomorrow, I’m going to at least control what happens tonight. Tonight I drink and force myself to forget about what lies ahead.

Book: “ILS” (title reveal spring 2018)
Release date: June 21, 2018
November 5, 2017
ILS
This year’s #NaNoWriMo project is underway. It’s day 5 and I’m still on target to hit 70K. Yes, I know #NaNo is about hitting 50k in 30 days. I need to finish this project. It’s been speaking to me for months.
ILS is an abbreviation for the title. A title that I’m not sure is going to stick yet so I refuse to announce it. Once the book is finished, I’ll have a better idea if I’m in love with the title or if I plan to scrap it for something else.
Before I get started writing today, I wanted to share with you a little excerpt I wrote yesterday. As my story is beginning to unfold, I’m falling further and further in love with my characters. All of them, not just the main two. I think my favorite so far is a supporting character named Becky. Mom to Wyatt (the male lead), she’s reminds me of my own mom. She’ll call you out in front of your friends, not because she wants to embarrass you, but because she needs to get her point across.
Meet Becky…
“Enough about me,” Wyatt finally says, standing from the table. “Why don’t we get some food and show Chloe the spot we found the other day. If there’s time, we could catch the matinee at the theater.”
“Hell yes!” Jones hollers in delight.
“Watch your mouth, young man,” Wyatt’s mother says as she drops two baskets of fried goodies on the table.
Becky’s an amazing mom from what I can tell. She doesn’t take shit from either of her children, or apparently her nephew.
“Sorry Aunt Becky,” Jones quickly apologizes as he shoves fries in his mouth, causing his words to be muffled.
“Where are you three headed to this afternoon?” she inquires, taking the empty chair next to me and reaching for a fried pickle.
“The guys want to show me some place they found I guess.” Shrugging my shoulders, I reach for the basket of fries but Wyatt pulls it away, grinning in triumph, until his mom’s words catch him off guard.
“The kissing hole?” she asks, her question directed at Wyatt.
“They don’t really call it that, mom.”
“My ass they don’t. It’s been called that since I was a kid. Who do you think they named it after?”
“Ewe!” both guys say in unison while Becky and I laugh at the look of disgust on their faces.
“Keep it PG-13, boys. And Chloe, don’t let them talk you into any funny business. I know they’re cute but they’re not that cute.”
