Doctor Who and Chai Lattes
Things that make me happy, even on a Monday:
1. The Austin Teen Book Festival! I'll write more about this on Wednesday, but I had such a great time, you guys. So many fun authors and readers and bloggers!
2. Doctor Who. I'm really getting into this series on Netflix (way late to the party, I know). And I'm beginning to understand why everyone's so obsessed with David Tennant. :)
3. Reading a wonderfully creepy book on a rainy Sunday. I finished Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea by April Genevieve Tucholke yesterday, and I loved every second of it. It's the perfect fall read, with a girl living on an old mansion and falling for the mysterious but endearing boy staying in her guesthouse.
4. Chai lattes. Perfect for stormy fall afternoons.
5. European vacation! I'm heading to London, Brussels, and Paris later this week. I know. I'm so excited!
Happy Monday, everyone! What's making you happy this week?

Austin Teen Book Festival and Almost Fall
1. I'm heading to Austin this weekend for the Austin Teen Book Festival. And I can't wait! So many awesome authors will be there.
2. I've been fighting off a cold all week, which has been a wonderful excuse to read all these books on my TBR pile. I'm feeling much more normal now, though, so it's back to the daily word count.
3. I'm reading Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea by April Genevieve Tucholke right now, and I'm loving it! The writing is beautiful, and the atmosphere of suspense and creepiness is pitch perfect.
4. It's still horribly hot here, though there was a day last week that almost felt like fall. So close!
5. Alright, must go. Time for a very large cup of coffee and some writing.
Happy Friday, everyone! Anyone have fun weekend plans?

New Orleans and Wanderlust
Things that make me happy, even on a Monday:
1. New Orleans. I visited a friend there this weekend, and I had the best time just wandering around the French Quarter and the Garden District. There is so much inspiration in all these old buildings with their vibrant colors. The food's not bad, either. :)
2. This sign that I found in the young adult section of the Garden District Book Shop in New Orleans. Amazing.
3. The Emmys! Well, ok, Emmy fashion. I think Kerry Washington's dress and look was my favorite.
4. Adding places to my "Must Visit" list. I'm feeling such wanderlust for Buenos Aires these days.
5. Twitter. I'm quickly becoming obsessed with it--it's just such a fun way to chat with people. Are you on Twitter? If I'm not following you already, I'd love to know your Twitter handle!

Random Musings: Sleepy Hollow and New Orleans
1. I went to the Houston Ballet production of The Merry Widow last night, and it was one of the most romantic ballets I had ever seen. If you have any slight interest in the ballet at all, this is one to watch.
2. Because I'm part of the young professionals group at the Ballet, we went to a hotel bar downtown after the show and got to chat with some of the dancers. Ballet gossip is the BEST.
3. Did anyone else watch the premiere of Sleepy Hollow? It was crazy and twisty and had one very hot Ichabod Crane, so I think I shall have to watch it. :)
4. I've been reading Prep by Curtis Sittenfield. Actually, reading it for the second time. The first time I read it, I was much closer to high school age and identified with the insecure protagonist more (though I was hopefully never that insecure). Now I just want to give her a hug and tell her it gets better.
5. I'm heading to New Orleans for the weekend, and I'm so very excited for some good Cajun food and seeing a big group of my friends. And beignets, of course.
Have a lovely weekend, everyone! What are your weekend plans?

All of You by Christina Lee
Description from Goodreads: Avery has just met her hot upstairs neighbor. He's irresistible. Tattooed. And a virgin.Nursing student Avery Michaels wants nothing to do with dating—she's perfectly happy single. Privy to too many of her mother's bad decisions and even worse taste in boyfriends, all Avery can handle is a string of uncomplicated hookups whenever the mood strikes.
When she meets smoking hot tattoo artist Bennett, she wants him—for just one night. But he won't accept a no-strings-attached arrangement. He lives by a straight-laced code of values based on his own troubled upbringing.
Bennett sees something special in Avery and he wants more from her. Way more. As Avery wrestles with her emotions for Bennett, danger and tragedy force them to open up to each other. And Avery must face the terrifying realization that she wants more from him, too.
So she needs to make a choice—let Bennett go or finally let him in.
This book was such a fun, sexy, sweet read that I absolutely could not put it down. Avery and Bennett are both emotionally complex and endearing characters, characters you understand and root for. They both have pasts they have to work through. And the sexual tension between them was off-the-charts, which is always entertaining. :) There were definitely moments when I wanted to reach into the book and shake Avery, but that was how I knew I was thoroughly invested in the characters. This is a wonderful addition to the new adult genre, and I had such fun reading it!
