The Ghoul: A Tale of Old Waubakosh

J.P. from Newcastle, Ontario, asked if Waubakosh was modeled on a real town. The answer is yes. The town of Waubakosh in the novel is based on the old Bowmanville, as it was prior to 1980. Some of the key landmarks that are described in the novel -- the rubber factory, the zoo, the mill and the hospital --provide hints as to the identity of the town Waubakosh that was based on.
