Character Obsession by Iyana Jenna

Happy Monday everyone! Today, Iyana Jenna is back with her latest release Character Obsession. Grab a cup of coffee, check it out and Happy Reading!
Thank you so much for having me on your blog today. I visited with my re-released title,Character Obsession. It was published by my publisher, Breathless Press, but they were closed some time ago. I am so grateful that Evernight adopted this story. I was so happy with some additional parts suggested by my editor here in Evernight. I think they were a great idea! Picture Blurb:

Chase Riley, a Hollywood actor, is kidnapped. One of the abductors, Luke Nelson, is delusional and thinks that Chase is Elliot, the character Chase plays in his procedural cop series on TV. Luke plans to replay what happened to Elliot on the show with Chase. The worse thing is that Luke gets help from his father who seems to be as crazy as his son.

Chase’s boyfriend, co-actor Aidan Buffett, is on a trip with his sister when Chase is abducted. He grows worried when his call to Chase goes unanswered. Will he ever see his boyfriend again?

This is a previously published work. It has been edited for Evernight Publishing.

Be Warned: m/m sex

Excerpt:

Chase’s mind whirled and before he thought of anything else, he grabbed the door and threw himself out—or so he thought. The man was faster. A lot faster. He seized Chase by his jacket and just—stabbed him in his side. Chase caught his breath, and for some time he didn’t realize what happened. He sucked in a breath and whimpered when the guy yanked the knife out none too gently. Chase felt his world darken so he didn’t notice when the man slipped out of the car, came to be at the driver’s door, and wrenched him out from behind the steering wheel. As his breathing turned labored, Chase grappled at the source of the pain on his side and winced as he grasped it.

“Come on. Move.” The guy grabbed him by the shoulder and pushed Chase in front of him.

Chase swayed in the man’s clutches, but he pulled himself up as he controlled his breath.
Chase attempted to plant his feet as he was dragged up the stairs, but the pain had become too much and he could only comply. At one time the man rested him against the wall, took off his sunglasses, and pulled down his jacket hood, revealing himself. Chase gasped. The man was practically the mirror image of that Bob Nelson he met earlier at the diner, only rounder and much sturdier. And also a lot younger. What worried Chase was this man took off his disguise and didn’t seem too concerned he could recognize him. Not like Chase would be able to escape him and go to the cops, anyway. He was too sluggish to even move. They’d come in the back door, but not much attention was given to them by those at the front desk. Chase suspected that the man had stayed in the hotel long enough that he’d become just another familiar face.

The man’s grip tighten around his arm, but Chase kept his glare toward the receptionist in an attempt to get his attention—which failed totally—for the guy kept his head down. As his abductor dragged him toward the elevator, Chase palmed his side and lifted his hand with dread. It was damp and deep red with blood.

“Don’t do anything you’re going to regret,” the guy whispered to his ear as they got into the elevator, which, to Chase’s dismay, was empty. “I don’t want to have to kill you, Elliot. I love you.”

Chase turned cold at the mention of his character’s name. “I’m not Elliot,” he choked out. “I’m Chase.”

“Hush.” The man pulled Chase’s back against him, wrapping his long, muscled arm around Chase’s shoulders, waving the knife before Chase’s eyes.

Chase began to tremble.

Excerpt:

The door was open to the other bedroom, and when I reached to close it I heard
the rustling of covers in the room. The glow of the moon drowned Gray’s room in silver
light. I watched him adjust the pillow under his head as he stared up at the ceiling. His
warm liquorcolored eyes glinted kaleidoscopic colors in the moonlight. I started to pull
the door closed, and his eyes met mine. I froze. Parts of my gut that hadn’t experienced
the waves of anticipation in years twisted like a there was a hurricane inside of me.

Without speaking he scooted over in his bed and threw the covers back. My brain
willed my body to move into the room, and in seconds I was next to his bed.

“One more night, Izaac.”

“I’m afraid it’ll only complicate what I’ve made a mess of, Gray.”

“I’m good at unraveling complications. Come here, cowboy.”

He was good at unraveling my willpower, too.

I slipped into the bed. “I wish I could offer you more than tonight.”

“I wish for a lot of things, but I’m not asking for anything more than this night.”

What words couldn’t express our bodies would. Gentle and unhurried kisses
prolonged our progress. Seven days with Grayson had more passion and connection than
the last five years of my life. Those years had been the abysmal pit of repentance. Every
move I made was calculated to prevent and eliminate relationships with people, but now I
had people who wanted to have me in their lives. I was going to lose the most important
person I’d ever had in my life.

“Gray?” I whispered in his ear.

“What?”

“I could still be a good guy to you.”

“Izaac, it’s okay to still care about Quinton, but I won’t compete with a ghost for
your heart. It’s too hard to wonder if I’m the one in your mind at any given time or if
you’ll leave when a memory of him overwhelms you.”

“I’ve held on for so long that I think maybe I’m just a living ghost myself.”

“Then let me show you that you’re alive.”

His stubble abraded across the skin of my chest, and I fisted his hair as he
explored every dip and inch down my stomach. If I couldn’t give him more, I could give
him tonight. He deserved more, but this would have to do. Bio:

An Unusual Vacation by Elodie Parkes

Happy Monday everyone! Today, Elodie Parkes stopped by to chat about her newest release An Unusual Vacation. Grab a coffee, check it out and Happy Reading!  Picture Hi, thank you for inviting me to your blog to talk about my latest book from Evernight.

I originally expected this story to be a short, but as the plot developed and the characters took over, the story grew and grew, and still there’s more to tell, because one of the supporting characters, Connor, is going to have his own story.

Dominic Carr, my hero and Michelle Vega, my heroine, couldn’t be more different, but they are instantly drawn to each other and the resulting passion between them is intense. Dominic’s hopes are high, making him vulnerable. Michelle is involved in a dangerous lifestyle far removed from Dominic’s, but she’s lonely. This opens her up to taking chances when she meets Dominic.

I love water, rivers, and the ocean. They have their own very special atmosphere, and I wanted to flavor the story setting with the sounds, and smells of sun drenched harbor towns, wide rivers and boats, to provide contrast with the suspense element of the story.
When you read the story and Dominic sails away on vacation. Think Monterey or the marinas in the Caribbean or the Florida keys. The sky is Grecian blue, the air and water sparkles. There’s the smell of salt and sea, and wheel of seagulls as the couple walk on the quay together. Picture Blurb:

At thirty-two Dominic Carr thinks it’s time he met a girl he could love. He’s tired and jaded from his high power job, and hoping that this summer’s vacation will be refreshing. When he sees Michelle Vega in the art gallery of a harbor town he visits, her long legs in pink couture shorts grab his attention.

Michelle Vega has everything to hide except her beauty and her instant attraction to Dominic. She’s not on vacation as she visits the gallery—more like on business.

As the two of them fall into a hot romance, Dominic is sure Michelle could be ‘the one,’ but Michelle is filled with doubt when she considers how he might react to discovering her secrets.

When Michelle’s business takes a dangerous twist Dominic finds he’s pulled into a perilous situation.

Will this be a test of his love or the finish of it? Picture Excerpt: Dominic sees Michelle for the first time

A sunbeam slanted through the skylight as if aiming for Dominic’s face. He opened his eyes and rolled away from the bright shaft of light. His head safely on the other side of the pillow, Dominic checked the time on his cell phone that lay on the bedside unit. The day looked beautiful through the cabin window as he sat up and swung his legs onto the floor. He pulled on a T-shirt over his boxers and padded into the galley to make coffee. Dominic went up on deck and took his cup of coffee with him. The clear, blue sky and the sun-dappled water brought a smile to his face. The marina around his berth was already full of life, and he sat to watch a fabulous motor yacht edge out of a berth and move majestically into deeper water. Hunger drove him to shower and dress. He had food in the fridge to cook, but Dominic knew there was a great café in this town next to an art gallery and he meant to visit both that morning.

Mellowed by the blueberry pancakes he’d eaten, the sun on his shoulders as he sat at one of the café’s outdoor tables lifted his spirits. Summer scented the air and Dominic took a deep breath. I needed this change. It feels as if I’ve suddenly entered the real world

His thoughts made him grin as he paid the bill, and left the café. The art gallery, a door down, was showing several local artists’ work and the traveling exhibition on loan from a private collector housed a number of Monet paintings Dominic wanted to see. He’d never thought about joining the art world himself, but Dominic liked to look. It gave him a sense of peace.

A poster on the revolving door proclaimed there was a small fee that week because of the Monets. The gallery had two floors. The rooms were long, stretching back in the deceptively spacious building, with padded benches placed at intervals for people to sit and absorb the art. Dominic donated at the plastic box attached to the screen midway down the first floor of the gallery designating the entrance to the special exhibition. He wanted to see that first.

Over an hour later, Dominic left the Monet exhibition, and wandered along to the top room of the art gallery. He saw the young woman the moment he reached the top of the stairs. She sat part way down the left hand side, on one of the blue benches. Dominic couldn’t tear his gaze away as he edged closer to where she sat. She wore a pale-pink suit jacket and her glossy hair fell down her back, almost to her waist. Her lightly tanned legs were bare and she wore bright pink, high-heeled pumps. Dominic couldn’t see a skirt. Intrigued, he stopped at the painting adjacent to the one she sat in front of, and cast a secret glance at her. Shorts, mmm, she’s beautiful. He passed behind the bench trying to ascertain if she wore a wedding ring. Luck gave him a perfect opportunity as she moved her hair from her face, giving him a delightful view of a naked wedding band finger and her lovely profile. Dominic’s heart raced. Surprise at his reaction to the young woman gripped him, and he walked rapidly across the width of the gallery to stand before an ocean scene and try to collect his swirling thoughts.

When his boss orders him to make Kayla feel at home, he almost rebels. But his need to pay bills wins over his emotions. Excerpt:

Kayla had seamlessly taken control of the sound system a few minutes ago and the stuff she had been playing was good, better than the typical pre-recorded shit. But what caught his attention now was the sound of her voice. She was singing into the mic on her headset. Not lyrics but a beautiful stream of notes that seemed to flutter from her gut up to her vocal cords in a lilting sound that was captivating.

The notes she sang rose and fell, exotic and mysterious with the intriguing underlying beat. Her voice called, it drew…and soon women rose from their seats to the small dance area to move and sway with the music, and the men followed them. The same people who had been oblivious of the music a moment before as they’d smoked and talked were now giving their full attention to Kayla.

It wasn’t just the music that mesmerized them; it was Kayla herself. She was a vision. Her blonde hair gleamed under the lights, and her shoulders and hips writhed in a sexy dance, and all the while she continued to turn knobs and flip switches to make the music she sang to. She was absorbed in it and having a great time. Sometimes her hair flicked when she gyrated, as if in punctuation to her movements. Combined with the sound of her voice, she was like a beacon—the song of an angel caressing and drawing everyone in. It was like nothing he’d ever heard before.

“Hola!” said a man in an aggressive tone, waving a one hundred Euro bill. “Can we get ten shots of Patrón?”

“Of course. Right away, friend.” Lex focused back in on his job.

It was awhile before he could come back up for air. But when he did, he noticed that the space was packed with bodies dancing to the music Kayla played. And, although she was keeping it mellow as instructed, it was the biggest crowd he’d ever seen on the terrace during the day. Security continuously went through, trying to keep key paths clear.

Hands holding cell phones were up in the air, outstretched toward her, as they took pictures and videos. Through it all, she wore the brightest smile he’d ever seen, occasionally lifting one hand to press the earphones closer. She changed the tempo to a faster beat and the crowd responded with cheers. She bounced up and down in joy, hand waving above her head with exhilaration, and the people lifted and pumped their fists in mimicry.

She was every bit as good as any DJ they’d had before and more. She was the embodiment of everything he thought he would have experienced and felt had it been him on the stage. Somehow, she caught him watching, and gave him a cheery wave. Embarrassed, he waved awkwardly back, and then pulled his eyes back down to the bar. And, even though he could acknowledge that Rick had been right, that she was good, he couldn’t help feeling the tiny nugget of palpable distaste lodged deep in his chest.

Excerpt:

Slowly rubbing a thumb to the scar that rode his jaw line from left ear to midway along the right side, Draven watched Bracken and his wife, Sadie. The two were deep in discussion. One that his colonel didn’t appear to be enjoying. Sharing a look with one of the lieutenants sitting nearby, he almost snorted when the younger man rolled his eyes.

Pretty much how he was feeling about the situation. Not that he was about to stick his nose in between those two. He liked Sadie. She was good for Bracken. For a long time he’d worried for his colleague and friend. Bracken had been so angry for much too long. But the moment Sadie had come back into his life he’d begun to calm. He still had a quick temper on him but he didn’t stay angry for very long. His wife wouldn’t let him.

Finally the two of them seemed to get on the same wavelength and Bracken waved him over. Shooting Sadie a wink, he faced the colonel. “So she talked you into whatever she wanted you to do, I take it.”

“Shut up, Draven,” Bracken muttered.

He was taking that as a yes given Sadie’s satisfied smirk. “Yes, sir. Now, what else needs to be moved? And remember I need to be back on the ship in six hours to accept the delivery of supplies we have coming in.”

“I know,” he said with a nod. He waved to the remaining boxes in view in the storage room. “She has a few furniture pieces in the other unit but we’ll worry about that later. We definitely don’t have time to wrestle them out of here before we leave.” Draven nodded, then signaled a couple of the others over to help him with the last of the boxes. Moving to one, Draven picked it up and took it out to the rental conveyance they had outside the storage bins. He set his box down, turned to take another, and set it in place.

Once it was loaded up he moved to the control panel and programmed in the address of Sadie’s ancestral home. When it acknowledged the address, he set the conveyance off with its instructions. Turning, he headed back to where the others waited. They’d be going to meet the rental soon enough.

He glared at Sadie when she handed him another box with directions on where it needed to go. “You know you’re damn lucky I like you, right?”

She smiled at him, then pointed in the direction he was supposed to go.

Damn woman was a bossy little thing. Shaking his head, he took the box up to the room the couple had decided would be used for storage until Sadie could go through everything she’d brought over. He set it down but stalled on his way back down to the main level. He needed to get out of there and back to port.

If he went down there again, Sadie would task him with something else. Which would delay his departure greatly,  and Bracken had given strict orders on who needed to be on the destroyer when they had anything brought on board.

When Sadie moved into another room Draven slipped down the stairs and sidled up next to Bracken. “Colonel, I have to leave. I’ll be cutting it close in getting back to the port as is.”

“Go, I’ll handle my wife,” Bracken told him.

“Yeah, good luck with that.” Grinning, he headed for the front door.  Once he was outside he checked his time piece and walked down the path to the front street and cursed. He would be cutting it way too close.

Draven had dug out his communications piece and was about to put it in place in his ear, when a blur came around the bend and slammed into him. He dropped the piece and caught the tiny frame. The sound of his name in her breathy tone had him tightening his hold on her arms. “By the stars, Cecilia.” He’d have said more but the panicked look in her eyes stalled him out.

“What’s wrong?” he asked softly, automatically pulling her in closer to his body.

He moved to the edge of the bed and pointed toward the floor. “On your knees.”

It didn’t matter either way to her, but there was something quite decadent about kneeling in front of a man to suck his dick. She slid off the bed and dropped to her knees. At least the bedroom was carpeted. It would have been painful kneeling on the stone downstairs the way he had done for her.

Damien groaned softly and held her head with both hands as she licked him from his balls to the tip of his cock, and back again. She tortured him as he’d done to her, enjoying the way his soft groans grew louder, and the grip on her head increased.

Sela took several inches at a time into her mouth and sucked, alternating that with moving her lips up and down his shaft, increasing the length she took inside each time. He squirmed on the bed for several minutes, and then he pulled his cock away from her. “I can’t take it. I don’t want to come in your mouth. I’ve changed my mind.”

“Are you sure? I don’t mind if you do.”

The tender look he gave her melted her heart. “I’ll keep that in mind, but I want to fuck your hot pussy again. Come back up here and get on your hands and knees.”

She couldn’t have disobeyed that voice if she’d wanted to. Sela crawled onto the bed and did as he asked, then moaned softly as he caressed her ass cheeks and her soaking wet pussy. “You have the most gorgeous ass I’ve ever seen.”

“I’m glad you like it.”

He nipped at each cheek, and she giggled. “I could eat you up, Sela.” The mattress shifted, and she watched him grab one of the strawberries they hadn’t eaten. Thinking he was going to put it into his mouth, she gasped when he rubbed it slowly over her ass cheeks and the backs of her thighs, following each pass of the berry with his tongue.

The stickiness of the strawberry, coupled with his hot tongue, was surprisingly arousing. She moaned softly as he plucked another berry off the plate and rolled her onto her back. He straddled her at hip level, and rubbed the fruit over each breast, sucking and licking the juice off her. When he finally stopped, he kissed her, and he didn’t seem to mind that she was sticky. After he released the kiss, he crawled off her and asked her to get on her hands and knees again.

“Well that was new,” she said.

Damien caressed her pussy from behind. “Did you like it?”

“I loved it.”

“Then I’ll have to experiment with other things.”

Her orgasm was so close she could hardly stand it. “Like what?”

“Oh, I don’t know. Ice, perhaps? Peanut butter? Hot sauce?”

She giggled again. “You’re very sexy, Damien. I’ve never known a man like you.”

He kissed her lower back. “And I’ve never known anyone as fun and adventurous as you, Sela. Thank you for this.”

Before she could answer him, he slid his cock into her pussy. She moaned loudly as he thrust deep and hard, and just as she thought she was going to come again, he pulled out and picked up one of the berries again.

Sela moaned softly as he rubbed it over her pussy. Her arousal shot through the roof. She’d never imagined being covered in strawberry juice would feel this incredible. She wanted him to keep going, but when he licked her from behind, she cried out in pleasure. Kink with fruit. Who’d have thought it could be this much fun?

As he continued to use his tongue to send her excitement to new heights, he reached underneath with his left hand and played with her clit. She pushed back against him, arching her back and silently begging for release, but he stopped before she came.

“Oh, please! This is crazy fun, but I’m dying here!”

He chuckled and kissed each ass cheek. “Do you think I’m not ready to explode?”

“I think you’re having way too fun much torturing me.”

He sank his dick into her pussy again, fucking her so slowly she thought she’d go out of her mind with need. At the same time, Sela enjoyed it far more than she could process. “Sadist,” she muttered.

“No shit.”

His comment made her laugh, but that soon turned to loud moans as he fucked her rougher now. He still didn’t let her come, but Sela was loving this. When he pulled out and returned to rubbing the strawberry over her ass and pussy, she sighed, closed her eyes, and simply let go. Sela wanted to experience all the sensations without analyzing them or worrying about the impending orgasm. This was way too much fun to ask him to stop.

“You’re all sticky, niña.”

“I’m sure I am.”

“Are you enjoying this?” His soft, smoky voice sent shivers down her spine.

“I am. Very much.”

He caressed the side of her breast. “I want you so hot for me that you can’t stand it.”

“I’m already there, Damien.”***Other Buy Links***

5-stars from Liz's Reading Life
"This story is another sizzling creation from SJ Maylee."
Far from Blind Excerpt:

He closed the door behind them and the distinct click of a lock tumbling over echoed around the room. Maybe no showing yesterday was a mistake. If they’d had any chance at all, she’d blown it for sure. How could she expect him to trust her now? The air, thick with unsaid words, closed in around her.

It was time to take care of business and escape before she embarrassed herself. “This must be for you.” She held out the envelope.

“Thank you.” He took it from her and tore it open, revealing a piece of paper. His cheeks pulled into a little smile, then it disappeared. He maneuvered around his desk and sat. “Do you like me, Candy?”

“Of course I do.” She clasped her arms around her middle. The bigger question is what he thought of her before Club Blind and now.

“Then why didn’t you show last night?” He pressed his lips together and kept his gaze on her.

“To be honest…”

“That’s all I’ll ever expect from you.”

“I’ll give it to you straight. You don’t want a girl like me.” She blew out a breath as if it could help her raging pulse. Never in a million years would she have guessed she’d want a man to tell her she was wrong.

“Is that what you believe?”

“Yes.” She kept her focus on him. He gave nothing away. His expression didn’t change, only his fingers tapped on his desk which was irritatingly neat.

“Then we have a problem.” He stood. “We’d agreed to meet. I kept up my end.”

“And I didn’t.” She blew out a deep breath.

“Come here.”

She didn’t move. She didn’t take her next breath either.

He pointed to the ground in front of him. “Don’t make me ask twice.”

She jumped and then slipped around his desk. Damn, he really did smell good. No matter whether it was aftershave or him, the deep woodsy scent turned here on. Everything about Brad turned her on.

“Did I ask you to join me at Mistress Charlie’s yesterday?”

“Yes, but—”

“Do you believe I’m a liar?”

“No.”

“I don’t think you are either.” He tapped under her chin, lifting her focus back to him. “But I don’t believe you’re being honest with me right now and that’s a problem.”

“I’m sorry I didn’t show yesterday.”

“I appreciate the admission, but I can’t let the action and the attitude go unpunished.”

“What, are you going to spank me?” She chuckled.

“I think it’s time.” He tucked some of her hair behind her ear and his touch lingered along the side of her neck over her ugly mole. “Don’t you agree?”

“Agreed, Sir.” She leaned back on his desk. It was the only thing holding her up.

“Safeword?”

“Red.”

“Very good. Bend over my desk, please.”

“Right here?” She looked around his office. She didn’t find any windows to the hall, but his windows facing the next building were wide open. “You really are pissed.”

The corner of his lips lifted slightly. “The windows are treated. No one can see in here.”

“Oh.”

“You’re stalling.”

“Can you blame me?”

“You do know I’m an accountant, right?” He tugged on her hair. “We like to add.”

Scarlett Hood & The Hunter by Pumpkin Spice

Happy Monday everyone! Today, I'm welcoming Pumpkin Spice to the blog. She brought along the first story in her Amāre Tales series, Scarlett Hood & The Hunter. It's a new spin on a classic fairy tale and the perfect read to help keep you warm while the weather outside grows colder.

Check it out and as always, Happy Reading!  Picture Blurb:

In the merry village of Amāre, love isn’t just the town’s namesake—it’s a way of life. When Scarlett Hood discovers that her grandmother’s retirement fund has been targeted by the wolf of Wall Street, Bernie Wolfe, the photo journalist realizes she will need more than her telephoto lens to take him down. She’ll need help.

Help arrives in the unlikely Jack Hunter, the local bean farmer, who struck it rich only to lose his golden crop to Wolfe. Now working for the Security & Exchange Commission (SEC), Jack is on the hunt to bring down Wolfe and Giant Investment Services. Nothing—not even his unbridled attraction to Scarlett—will keep him from tackling the man who stole his grandmother’s land and put him out of business. Can Scarlett Hood and Jack Hunter team up together to bring down one of Amāre’s worst villains and find their own happily ever after?
Excerpt:

I clapped my hands together and practically scared Scarlett into a sitting position. “Okay, so I guess it’s time we get you cleaned up.”

She shook her head, and a mess of crimson spirals moved haphazardly across her fair face. “Oh, ouch.” She reached up and touched the back of her head.

I was instantly at her side. “Lie back down.” She gently slid on the couch. “Crap. Maybe you have a concussion.” I looked behind me at the front door, but I knew Granny had already left. I carefully sat beside Scarlett and moved a wayward lock away from her face. I leaned over and started feeling behind the back of her head. I felt her eyes on me as I groped her head like I was checking a watermelon for freshness. I really wasn’t sure what I was doing because suddenly touching Scarlett sent my senses into overload. Her hair was soft and silky between my fingers. I slowed down my rhythm and gently massaged her scalp. A low murmur escaped her lips. I quickly glanced at her, and her eyes were closed. I wanted to lean over and kiss her perfectly plump lips, but I returned my focus to her head where my hands wove through her wild hair that was a wonderland of richness. Even though she was soaked in wine, her head smelled like lavender. Now when I looked again at her, she looked up at me and smiled.

“I don’t feel any bumps?” I asked as more of a question than a statement.

Scarlett’s deep, husky laugh rose to my ears like an aphrodisiac that sent a signal to my brain and straight to my jeans as if she had suddenly cupped my cock. Her laughter was that enticing. It spiked a primal desire to have her beneath me with her mouth wrapped around my cock, which was beginning to grow as fast as my field of bean stocks.

I quickly shook my head and jerked away from her as if from a hot flame. “Yup,” I said brushing my hands together and trying to shake free from the heat that radiated between us. “I think you’re A-okay. Okay-dokay.”

She looked up at me, and her faint green eyes questioned me. “What happened?”

I shrugged. “Nothing. Just taking Granny’s orders to get you cleaned up. So let’s get moving and get you ready.” I hiked my thumb toward where I imagined the bathroom was located. “I’ll start the shower, run a bath, or grab a bucket of water from the well.” I scratched my head. “I’m not sure if there’s running water out here. But no matter.” I snapped. “I’ll do whatever it takes.” I pointed to Scarlett. “To get you freshened up.” Who am I? I sounded like some jingle writer for a feminine hygiene commercial.

Scarlett shook her head. “But Granny won’t be back for at least an hour.”

I nodded. “Yes, but she left me in charge to get you cleaned up.”

Scarlett slightly raised her hips off the couch, and her yellow skirt fell forward to reveal sheer panties that were streaked red. But even stained in wine, it was clear to see that Scarlett was a true redhead.

“I don’t think I should move in my condition,” she said with a coy look on her face. “Could you help me, Jack?”

I swallowed hard and looked at the tiniest, barely-there V-shaped panty that was held together by thin, pink, spaghetti-like straps that hugged Scarlett’s narrow hips. I wanted to gnaw them off with my teeth to get to the strip of hair that was tucked beneath the sexy sheer. Instead, I held Scarlett in my gaze.

“Maybe you hit your head too hard?” I said trying to maintain some semblance of control, trying to be the good guy, trying to remember that we just met. Trying to get a handle on a situation that was suddenly moving too fast, too soon, and yet felt so right, which made no sense at all.

Scarlett rolled her head from side-to-side. Locks of her hair swayed in a truly mesmerizing, hypnotic fashion. “Jack, Jack, Jack. You over-think things way too much. If this Wolfe guy really is so bad and I really was in harm’s way then you just came and rescued me.” She looked up at me, and in that look I could have shot my load.

“Shouldn’t we be living in the moment?” Her voice dripped with sex appeal, and my mind and body stopped working together. “Shouldn’t we forget what’s behind us and start moving forward? I’m not usually this way, but tonight hasn’t gone anywhere like I had planned. I met some Wolfe in the woods. I knew he was bad news, I knew that, but I didn’t listen to my gut.”
For a moment anger flashed across her face. “I should have listened to my first instinct. But I didn’t.” She shook her head. “I did what was expected of me. I shared my dessert. I played nice.”

Her hands were in her lap, and she opened them like she was releasing a bomb. “And then because of my kindness, I got knocked out by you, and now you tell me that Blue may have lost everything?” Her voice dropped like she was about to cry. “If we can’t save what Blue lost…”

Scarlett placed both of her hands over her chest, and in that moment I could tell that what she needed. What she wanted wasn’t necessarily me, but some retreat, some reprieve, some form of escapism from everything that had just happened. And if I could give her thirty minutes, though I hoped much longer, of total release, what was the harm?

Bite Me by Michelle Roth

Happy Hump Day everyone! Today, Michelle Roth is back with her steamy new release Bite Me. A vampire that can cook is never a bad combination! Check it out and as always, Happy Reading!  Hi there, everyone! I'm Michelle Roth and I'm here to introduce my latest release, Bite Me. It's the second in my vampire paranormal series, The Transfigured Ones. Magnus Corbett, my hero, was modeled a bit after Gordon Ramsey. I wanted him to be a rough around the edges guy who didn't necessarily have time for love. I knew, whoever I matched him with would either need to be a bad ass chick who didn't take any crap.. or she'd need to be so sweet that she called to the softer side of him. Caroline Lundquist is both of those things.

If you've got any questions about the book, for me as the author, or about the series in general, feel free to use the #transfiguredones hash tag and I'll do my best to answer!

Picture Magnus Corbett is the world renowned head chef for Usquebaugh, the wildly popular restaurant and whiskey bar inside the Foxwood Hotel and Casino. He's certain that it was his status as one of the Transfigured that put him on the map. It will be bold flavors and his tireless work ethic that keep him there. And, if he has to be a little blunt to get things done? So be it.

When bar manager, Caroline Lundquist, develops a line of cocktails to breathe some life into the drink menu, she's determined to have new gin-inspired dishes to pair with them. During their collaboration she finds herself falling for the side of Magnus that people rarely see. He's sweet. Compassionate. Caring. As they begin to navigate the perils of a vampire-human relationship, both of their pasts crop up, threatening to destroy everything they're working so hard to build together.

WARNING: ADULT CONTENT

“That's nice, but,” he said, frowning at her, “I really hate to bring this up but... I see no nudity or coffee, Caroline. You can't promise things like that and then not follow through. It's cruel.”

Smirking, she said, “You were gone for almost an hour after we talked. I assumed you forgot about me. So I drank your cup and then I took care of myself.” She gave a little shrug.

“You did, did you?” he asked, his cock stirring to life. “In what's soon to be our bed?”

“No. I didn't,” she said, confessed, laughing. “I did drink the coffee though. Then Lilly called me to tell me about the reviews and I got caught up in that.”

“New rule,” he ordered, his focus single minded. “You don't get to play with your pussy unless I'm supervising.”

Caroline made a pouty face. “Not even a little bit?”

“Not at all, sweetness,” he corrected. “And I never said you could borrow my shirt, love. I'm going to need it back now.”

“Sorry,” she replied, giving him an unrepentant grin. She pulled the shirt up inch by tantalizing inch until he realized she wasn't wearing anything under it.

“That's it, love,” he said scooping her up and setting her on the edge of the island counter top.  Then he picked up the hand that held her cell phone and suggested, “Read me a review. One of the longer ones because we're going to be here a while.”

Caroline set the cell phone down and leaned back, watching as he shifted her thighs apart. When he ran the tips of his fingers along her damp folds, she let out a shuddering sigh.

“Someone's a little needy this morning, isn't she?” he asked, kneeling so that he was eye level with her pussy.

“Yes,” she agreed. “I'm always needy for you.”

“And I am for you too. Always,” he promised. “Why aren't you reading?”

Caroline narrowed her eyes. “You're serious?”

Magnus nodded, and then blew a gentle stream of air against her heated flesh. When she started to wriggle, he murmured, “Hold still, love. Let me...”

Gently he pulled her labia apart with his thumbs and swiped his tongue from her opening to her clit and back again. “God, love. You taste so fucking good. It's a shame I won't be able to continue until you start reading.”

Caroline moaned, balancing herself back on one arm and picked up her cell phone. A few taps on the screen later, she gave an annoyed huff.

Magnus resumed his task, swiping his tongue against her inner thighs, nipping gently at the sensitive skin there.

Caroline's voice was somewhat broken when she began to read. “I had the— distinct pleasure of spending my evening at Usquebaugh. As always, the atmosphere lively, the food amazing, and the drinks sub-sublime. Magnus!”

He took his time, moving his mouth to her pussy, drawing slow circles around her clit. He periodically dipped his tongue down to fuck her with it until she was panting.

“Magnus, please,” she whined. “I need...”

He buried three fingers inside her as far as they would go, fucking them in and out of her slowly, then lifted his head and said, “I need you to keep reading for me. I'm very interested to know what they thought of the individual drinks.”

“Owner Lilly Ferguson put together the ultimate—” she broke off, gasping.

He stilled his tongue and fingers and waited until she began to speak again.

Her voice almost a high pitched, needy wail, she continued, “—dream team of chef Magnus Corbett and bartender Caroline Lundquist. The dishes display the usual competency and flare that Magnus Corbett has always been known- been known for. However, the real surprise of the evening was the new line of...”

She could have been saying anything. He'd stopped paying attention the moment he'd buried his tongue in her wet heat. Every time she grew more slick around his fingers, he moaned. Her cream was the sweetest he'd ever tasted. If he had his way, he'd to keep her here, hips pinned to his counter, cumming until she couldn't bear it anymore.  Picture About Michelle:

Michelle Roth is a novelist from the Great White North (Toronto, ON). When she’s not disappearing into foreign lands, or making two perfect strangers that she invented fall in love, she’s probably curled up somewhere with a glass of wine and a good book.

In her spare time she is typically hanging out with her awesome boyfriend and their two equally awesome cats. She likes taking road trips to nowhere in particular, cooking elaborate meals then making other people do the dishes, and being nerdy on the internet. The Job by Doris O'Connor

Happy Monday everyone! Doris O'Connor is back on the blog today with her new release The Job. You can always count on a sizzling good read from Doris, and this one is no different! Check it out and Happy Reading!  Thanks so much for hosting me today with my new release, The Job.

How far would you go to help out your friend and flatmate? If you’re Alexandra Farrington quite far, indeed. While she can’t get her head around the fact that her friend does that, she is somewhat reassured that the escorts provided by Premiere Companions are not required to have sex with their clients.

Alex can do this—she’s an actress after all—and killer stiletto sandals make good weapons if said client gets frisky.

Yes, all good in theory, until she opens the door to a face from her past. The one man she hoped to never see again. The one man she simply cannot resist.

Enter the world of the escorts of Premiere Companions, the elite escort service in London. Picture Blurb:

Accepting money for sex is wrong—isn’t it?

Alexandra Farrington certainly thinks so. The job she’s agreed to do for her friend is not supposed to involve any sex. However, no man spends this much money on a swish hotel suite and sinful lingerie, and not expect the horizontal shimmy in return.

And what sort of man employs escorts anyhow?

Nathanial Longton cannot believe his eyes when the door opens to reveal his companion for the evening. He has never forgotten the housekeeper’s daughter. The girl he grew up with has grown into a beautiful, sexy woman, and what’s more she’s all his for the night.

Alex and he have unfinished business and, with her at his mercy, it’s payback time.

If only this was just about sex, but Alexandra’s submission awakens much more than his inner Sadist….

Love is far harder to ignore.

Story Excerpt:

“Staying then, sweetheart?” he asked.

Alex’s fingers itched to wipe that knowing smirk of his face.

“Get off on blackmailing women to do your bidding?” She flung the words at him, inwardly grimacing at the breathy quality of her voice. Her heart beat faster when he straightened up and walked toward her. His long limbed gait ate up the distance between them. Every instinct screamed at her to run away, but her limbs didn’t seem capable of following the demands of her rational brain. Besides where would she run to?

She was bought and paid for, after all. Alex would do anything to spare her frail mother any embarrassment. It’s why she had embellished her current work situation to her. Mum didn’t need to worry over her. Besides Alex was doing fine. She had a roof over her head and food in her belly, which was a lot more than some people had, so she couldn’t complain really.

“You have no idea what I get off on, Alex, but if you’re a good girl and do as you’re told, you might just find out.”

Oh, the infuriating male. His words served to escalate the flame of her arousal into a fever pitch, as he stopped so close to her that the heat off his body scorched her skin. It took every ounce of will power she possessed to not lean into his strength and warmth, to let him take away her worries. Now where had that thought come from, for fuck’s sake?

Alex jumped when Nathanial put his large hands on her shoulder. He slid them slowly upward until he framed her face and tilted her head up. The gentle pressure he used was strangely comforting.

“Breathe, Alex.”

Her pent up breath burst forth with such force that she ruffled the stylishly unruly dark lock of hair that fell over his forehead. His amber eyes crinkled up at the corners in seeming amusement.

“That’s better. You were in danger of passing out on me then, girl. As much fun as being the cause of that can be, I do need you sentient tonight. Later on, well, we’ll see…”

A shiver of apprehension crawled up her spine at his murmured voice, even as her breathing sped up, as all sorts of erotic scenarios bombarded her brain. Really, what was wrong with her? Think, dammit.

“I told you already, I won’t sleep with you, or are you going to blackmail me into that too?” Alex immediately regretted the words, when his brows drew together in a frown. His hold on her tightened imperceptibly, and she couldn’t bring herself to hold his gaze.

“I realize that you may not have the highest opinion of me after the way we parted back then, but—”

He stopped speaking when she couldn’t help her most unladylike snort of derision. Grasping her chin, he forced her to look up at him. Alex wasn’t small, but even in her killer stilettos she was still a head shorter than him. It made her feel all sorts of dainty and feminine, which was definitely a new sensation. Her stomach churned anew at the disapproval that was edged in his features.

“Has no one told you it is rude to constantly interrupt? If you carry on like this, I’ll be forced to put you over my knee to teach you some manners, girl.” He smiled when her mouth fell open in surprise.

Alex automatically clenched her thighs together to stop the hot flood of arousal creaming her pussy at those mental images.

“You try anything like that, and I’ll have you up for an assault charge.” Her reply lost all of its intended sting thanks to her voice doing its best to imitate a breathy porn star, but dammit, could he read her mind or something?

Alex liked a little, or should that be a lot of kink in the bedroom. Someplace she was so not going with him.

“You have bought my escort services for the evening, Sir.” She meant that intonation as an insult, but the way his eyes flared in heated awareness and his breathing sped up, told her what she was beginning to suspect. Nathanial would indeed be more than capable of fulfilling her needs. That meant she couldn’t let him near her. He would break down her barriers and she was not prepared to risk her heart—not again.

So instead, she pushed him away. Alex breathed a sigh of relief when he let her go.

“But that’s all you’ve bought. You can’t force me to do anything sexual, and—”

“Dammit, Alex.” His frustrated growl and the way he ran a hand through his hair, as he started to pace the floor in front of her stopped her from saying the rest. She hugged her arms around herself and bit her lip instead.

When he eventually stopped in front of her again, he indeed looked ready to put her over his knee. She stopped breathing when he reached out to her, stopped halfway, and curled his hand into a fist, dropping it to his thigh instead.

“Do you really think that little of me?” he asked.
