Settlers of Catan to be a Movie or TV Show?

Looks like Settlers of Catan is trading Sheep for Celluloid…Yes, that’s the best joke I have…Yes, I know that no one uses Celluloid anymore…Yes, I know I suck, work with me here.

Anyway, according to Io9.com, “producer Gail Katz (Air Force One, The Perfect Storm) announced via press release that she has obtained film and television rights to Settlers of Catan.” Since Io9 is usually on the ball with this kind of thing, I’m inclined to believe them.

Can a Ticket to Ride movie be far behind?

For th...

Crazy Week Is Crazy

I guess it’s time for another “how the hell is Craiggers doing” post.

It’s been a pretty awful week. My transmission blew on Saturday. I found out the cost on Tuesday. Since last Thursday I’ve been dealing with pains in my stomach. I’m not sure if they’re anxiety or what. I’ve been in a pretty bad depressive cycle since January, to the point where I can hardly write. It’s a circle of suck: when I can’t write, I get depressed, and when I get depressed, I can’t write.

What’s concerning is that th...

What It’s Like To Be Bipolar

Imagine that you’re a six year old. Out of nowhere, you get a puppy. It’s a beautiful black and white terrier that smothers you in kisses and loves nothing more than to play. He snuggles with you every night, and wakes you in the morning with a lick on the ear. For months you bond with that puppy and go on all sorts of adventures. You play Spaceman and Stardog. You play Cops and K9s. You make up your own games just to spend time with your beloved best friend.

Then your puppy gets run over by...

David Tennant to Play The Purple Man

Well this was a surprising turn of events. David Tennant, best known as the Tenth Doctor on Doctor Who, will play The Purple Man (Dr. Zebediah Killgrave), in the new Netflix series Aka, Jessica Jones. The Purple Man is one of the most dastardly, depraved villains in the entire Marvel Universe. This should be interesting.

Here Tennant talks about his upcoming part:

“I grew up on Marvel Comics so it’s very exciting to be part of their ever expanding entertainment empire,” he said. “I love the mo...

New Business Cards?

I was messing around with pics and designs for new business cards that reflect my personality. I’ve narrowed it down to two, and I’d love to hear what the Internet thinks of them.

Option One:

cosmic-cat tripping balls redux

Option Two:

doge in space card redux

I also made a Crying Benoit one, but I think we’ll leave that one out of it.

Sociopathy and Power

I found this article today, titled If you don’t understand how people fall into poverty, you’re probably a sociopath. It’s very well written, and gets to the heart of Sociopathy.

I’ve run into a lot of sociopaths in my career in Special Ed. Since I am also in the mental health system, it sometimes feels like I’m surrounded by them. One of the keys aspects of sociopathy is the lack of empathy. Since they’re not bound by morals or believe that anyone matters beyond themselves, they have no pr...

Damn You, Professor Chaos!

I watched a little too much South Park last night, including the ones with Butters/Prof. Chaos. I have decided that he is my arch enemy. As one friend said, “I’ve never met anyone as clenched as you.”

I like his cape though.

I wasn’t always this way. I used to be very easy going, mellow, all loosey goosey hippy blah blah blah. Then my mother died. Then my girlfriend, Valerie died. Then something inside of me died. I need to have everything in its place.

I recently found out why during therapy: B...

Because I had nothing else to do

Between building a “power point display” using an easel and printed out images, I decided to do this.

I’d love to turn this into promo cards, but it might be too trippy. What say you, Internet?

Workshop Panic

I am flipping out over this workshop coming up on the 27th. The library called me and said that ONLY ONE PERSON signed up. This is despite the dozen of people that said they were coming. The library said that if more people don’t register by Thursday, they’ll have to cancel. That means I’m out a paycheck and the considerable money I used for materials.

This could really sink me. I’m on a hairline budget, and I was depending on that check.

I’m freakin’ dead.

New York History

With the first of the “Watchmage” novels coming out this Spring, I decided to bear down and write all those NYC History articles I’ve been promising. The first one is on the New York-Boston Rivalry, and damn, there’s a lot of bad blood there. I had to break it into two parts, and it doesn’t even reach pastthe Civil War.

Expect it in a couple of days. Or don’t, it’s cool.
