Implement Better Controls Over Your Master Data with ECM
Implement Better Controls Over Your Master Data with ECM
Engineering Change Management is a tool that companies can use to gain better visibility, as well as to provide checks and balances, over the master data creation process. ECM does that by recording all changes or updates to SAP ERP Central Component (ECC) master data. It also ensures that business process owners validate and confirm every step of the master data creation or change.
To read the complete article published in SAPexperts (SCM) hub, click: http://bit.ly/19c1j1l
A high-level overview of ECM is also available at SearchSAP (Registration is free). The link to the ECM article on SearchSAP is here: http://bit.ly/1hwav5W

What's the best time to tackle SAP master data templates?
What's the best time to incorporate SAP master data templates?
At the end of an SAP ERP implementation project, teams often share lessons learned of what they could do better the next time around. These might include a greater focus on change management or better integration between SAP ERP modules. Master data management, and the role it plays in an implementation project's future success, is one area that is often overlooked when it comes to ERP implementations. That's a mistake. Overlooking master data during project planning and implementation can lead to problems down the road. Taking advantage of SAP master data templates is an important part of developing that master data management strategy.
