Indie Spotlight on Romance: Science Fiction Romance

Science Fiction Romance (SFR) comes in many flavors; military, settlers, cyborgs, alien-heroes, alien-villians, even alien-shifters. Carol Van Natta's Central Galactic Concordance series falls mostly into the military trope, but adds in a bit of cyborg, and in Pet Trade: A Central Galactic Concordance Novella, some settler-romance and a wonderful menagerie of genetically engineered pets.

He escaped and crash-landed a stolen freighter in the northern mountains of a frontier planet, only to discover a secret shipment of designer pets was part of the cargo. Determined to do right by them, he enlists reluctant Bethnee’s aid in caring for them—a definite challenge, considering Bethnee is terrified of him.

When greedy mercenaries come raiding, can Axur and Bethnee work together to overcome their limitations, with help from their unusual pets, and save the day?

Otherworldly Romance Reads FB Group

Indie Spotlight on Romance: Dragon Shifters

I discovered the Dragon Lords through Ms. Smith's contribution to Embrace the Romance: Pets in Space 2 where it is a standout offering in the anthology. Not only is the world building fanciful, and sexy bits sizzling -- Pearl's Dragon: Dragon Lords of Valdier Book 10 features a heroine over 60 -- and a grandmother. It is wonderfully refreshing to read a believable and hot romance between people over 40. It is fabulous in over-60. It is a tribute to Ms. Smith's imagination and skills that it all works so well.

Asim Kemark has lived a long, lonely life. It is his pledge to his former king and to Mandra Reykill that keeps him, his dragon, and his symbiot from going mad. He has given up on finding his true mate and devotes himself to caring for the wide assortment of creatures on Mandra and Ariel's mountain retreat. The last thing he expects to happen when he visits the palace is to lose control of his dragon and his symbiot after they sense their true mate. Before he knows it, he has kidnapped her!

Pearl St. Claire is enjoying a new adventure - learning to live on an alien planet. As a mature woman in her sixties, she thought she had experienced just about everything life could throw at her - only to discover she hasn't really experienced anything yet! She is both amused and exasperated when one of the dragon-shifting aliens kidnaps her, believing she is his true mate.

Accountants can be sexy. As a premise it gave me pause -- in execution it was fast, fun, and steamy as proven in Outside the Lines: First Person Narration

Fellow SLIH group member Kris Kennedy is known for her historical romance and less well known for recent forays into contemporary romance/romantic comedy as Bella Love .
