131 miles, 43 hours of walking

A long walk from Mesa Verde!
According to Google Maps, it would take you 43 hours to walk from Mesa Verde to Chetro Ketl in Chaco Canyon.
Pamela passed out in Mesa Verde, but even if we postulate that she awoke further south of that after she travelled back through time, it is still a very long walk.
Also, I originally wrote that she flew into Durango and was driving down to the Talus Dig site, but I no longer believe that she would be heading past Mesa Verde to get there.
I’ll rework it I think that she was dropping off other Professors at spots along the way to the Talus Village dig site.

Excerpt from Justice for All Time
Brendan didn’t stop to check his aim, he trusted it, and immediately turned the gun towards the woman, once again shocked because she had done the same.
It couldn’t have been more than half a minute that they stood like that, but the image of her was seared into his mind.
Dark hair whipping around her small pale face, eyes fixed and confident, stance solid and challenging. And that gun was steady as the grave. She was a magnificent sight.
She was a beauty, and she was dangerous, that registered immediately in Brendan’s mind.
When she lowered her weapon and raised her hand, he added ‘not stupid’ to her list of qualities. He upgraded her intelligence the next day as she skillfully evaded his questions at the accident site, and when she correctly poked holes in his sharp-shooter theory with her shell-casings question, he took the liberty of putting her in the dangerously-intelligent category.
Musing out loud now, he murmured, “But what are you hiding from me?”

10,000 words in!

Oh Yeah!
After restarting poor Pamela King‘s story twice, I am now 10k into the first draft and I’m really liking where she is taking me.
This is the fun scene coming up where she finally (and irrevocably) realizes she has been pulled into the past.
She’s already starting to feel hints of it kind of pulling at her consciousness, so this is going to be awesome!
And the scene right after I am going to cut to Chloe so that I can start introducing her storyline slowly (to build to book 2 in the series).
A good day’s work all in all, just wanted to share it with you!

Incredible find: archeological sites in the Mexico

Noted archeological sites from the Mexican History site
I’m very excited by this map because my King of Spades (and her parents before her) were archaeologists. Picking out where the key events are going to happen in the first book in the series is VERY exciting!
