October

I'm thrilled to have recently released a Young Adult book and hope to have a second one out this autumn too. SHOW JUMPING TEAM is a young adult story featuring horses in Ireland. The second tale takes an Irish girl to stay in Arizona. Watch this space!

My review schedule is packed with books ranging from space operas to Christmas romances. I have several books translated into English to read, besides factual looks at the coming global fresh water shortage and fiction from Irish history to steampunk.

Currently on my website you can find reviews of my books, lots of fun stuff for readers and a writer's page. This explains how to go about independently publishing and gives a few tips on matters such as editing and exposition. We've recently added a page for my new releases. There is also a signup for my newsletter and members of the newsletter list will be entered in prize draws for books. See you there!

Autumn

To celebrate the release of my new SF book, DINING OUT WITH THE ICE GIANTS, I am making the first in the series DINING OUT AROUND THE SOLAR SYSTEM free on Amazon Kindle 23rd - 25th August during Eurocon which is being held in Dublin. This story is an alternative future set in London and Dublin.

I'm thrilled that I will be releasing a Young Adult book this autumn too. This is a contemporary story of horses and young adults in Ireland. Watch this space!

I'm reviewing some marvellous and exciting books such as YA scary fantasy 'Murderess' by Daya Marnin; SF short fiction collection 'The Future is Short'; factual 'The Urban Birder' by David Lindo; 'The Intern's Handbook' otherwise known as 'Kill Your Boss' by Shane Kuhn; 'The Amish Nanny' by Patricia Davids; and Chris Hadfield's 'An Astronaut's Guide To Life On Earth'. And would you believe the Christmas books are coming in for review already!

Currently on my website you can find reviews of my books, lots of fun stuff for readers and a brand new writer's page. This explains how to go about independently publishing and gives a few tips on matters such as editing and exposition. I'll be adding to the content from time to time. There is also a signup for my seasonal newsletter and members of the newsletter list will be entered in prize draws for books. See you there!

Summer

We've had a beautiful summer so far and my garden is full of butterflies and bumblebees, feasting on the flowers which I planted to attract them.

I've completed the second book in my science fiction series and am preparing it for publication. Plans for the third book are well under way. I also have ideas for a couple more mysteries.

I'm reviewing some marvellous books from several genres, which include a crime story from Irish journalist Niamh O'Connor, a travel tale from Charley Boorman, young adult adventure by Liz Fichera and women's fiction by Karen Swan. Wherever you go on holiday this year, grab a good book!

Spring

I love this time of year in Ireland when the lilac is blooming and the mornings are bright. At present I'm working on my second science fiction book, in the Dining Out Around The Solar System series.

I write in three genres, SF, crime and romance, so which direction would you like me to take next?

I'm reviewing some great books at present, the latest by Alexandra Allred, Julian Assange, Maeve Binchy, Stephen Booth, Linda Fairstein, Liz Fichera, Shamini Flint, Myla Jackson, Shelly Laurenston, Donna Leon, Joanne Rock and Karen Swan to name but a few in my eclectic mix. Catch my reviews on Goodreads. I love meeting readers and authors!

Sign up to my seasonal newsletter to win prizes and find out all about my work. Just check out my website homepage for the signup sheet. My site also contains lots of fun stuff for readers and I'll soon be adding a page for independent writers.

Arkady Renko Short Story Contest

I'm thrilled to have won the Arkady Renko Short Story Contest. This was a really fun contest - to write a story about the Russian Investigator Renko in London. The sponsor was Simon & Schuster and entries were judged by Martin Cruz Smith, creator of Renko in the series which began with 'Gorky Park'.
The link below will take you to the publisher's website where you can read my story.

Don't forget to visit my own site too where you can read reviews of my books, play with some fun puzzles and sign up for a quarterly newsletter with prizes.
