Jumping Ship by Janice Ross #FREE #contemporaryromance
HTML-JUMPING SHIP
An Introductory Novella (0.5)
~ When the pursuit of love trumps obligations ~
On the 3rd of June 1975 in New York, Edward and Pearl Riley receive the ultimate gift of love – a newborn baby, wrapped in a blanket and stuffed in a burlap bag. The child’s name, Sakkara, is written out on a torn sheet of paper, and immediately fills every void the married couple has ever had.
Pregnant seamstress Petrina Dugal becomes a runaway at the age of twenty-six. She flees the claws of a brutish husband, despite her adoration for a well-loved South American country known as Guyana. At the heart of the rebellion resides an enigmatic lover named Michael Chen. The journey to escape their choices lead the couple through the Caribbean’s treasure trove of islands:
Trinidad & Tobago
Grenada
Barbados
St. Lucia
Martinique
Antigua
The journey of the young couple from Guyana to New York is chronicled in very specific clues, left with baby Sakkara. But as she comes of age and begins learning the truth of her abandonment, the Caribbean calls out to this love child. Sakkara is set to unravel the mystery of her true heritage, and hopefully reunite with her long-lost parents.
Jumping Ship is the introductory novella to the Island Hopping series. This explosive collection boasts the rich culture of the West Indies, deep love, and a mystery unlike any other.

Mocha, Moonlight, and Murder by Maryann Kempher #FREE #mystery

They say the best foundation for a relationship is friendship. If that’s true, then Scott Mitchell and Katherine O’Brian are destined to fall madly in love and live happily ever after. But first, someone needs to tell them. Finding themselves firmly entrenched in the “friend zone” has them both secretly asking the age old questions, “Can a friendship survive sex? Can a man and woman really be friends and lovers?”
And if those questions aren’t drama enough, why not add murder to the mix…Shortly after meeting Scott, Katherine stumbled upon a killer as he disposed of his victim. She quickly became a woman with a target on her back. And while she may have gotten away from the killer that night, he’s determined to find her, and not just because of what she saw—but because of what she found. Something priceless is hidden in the blue jeans that now grace her closet floor and the killer is determined to get it back, at any cost.
A perfect blend of romance, humor, and mystery—Mocha, Moonlight, and Murder will warm your heart, test your crime-solving skills, and tickle your funny bone.

About the Author
I am a collaborator of the American author Steven M. Moore. We met at Blarney Castle in Ireland (appropriate, don’t you think?). After a wee bit of chatting there and emails to and fro, I signed on to be his collaborator for all his YA books. I love writing for young adults and adults who are young at heart. Some people think I’m related to that great Irish harpist and singer, Turlough O’Carolan, but who knows?–I don’t think any of his DNA is around to check. Others say I was stolen and raised by leprechauns. We do a lot of kidding in Donegal, but maybe they know something I don’t.

Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Military Romance

Ben Knight has held a lot of titles—devoted son, big brother to six siblings, captain of the Marine’s Fleet Anti-Terrorism Security Team and his best-known gig of Louisiana playboy. But the ladies are just going to have to understand that his time’s stretched thin when he takes on the leadership of a new special ops force.
With his brothers as sidekicks.
Worst idea ever. But a decision Ben has no control over, and control is his middle name. Actually, it’s Bartholomew but thank God nobody knows that, except one pretty little brown-eyed Cajun girl with access to too much information about the Knight family and an oh-so-sweet sassy mouth. A mouth that he’s never forgotten even though it’s been three months since he’s last had her in his bed, against a wall and over a barstool.
Dahlia was a victim of the notorious Ben Knight’s love-’em-and-leave-’em lifestyle, and it ticks her off that she can’t forget him. Maybe it’s that bad-boy smile or the way he looks like sin poured into low-slung jeans. When he comes sniffing around again, her libido makes her jump into action—and straight into a world of secrets surrounding Ben. Leading her to question whether her heart can withstand a life with a man who might not be alive tomorrow.

Excerpt:
“Anderson, look over there.”
“What?” Officer Anderson asked. Turning his head to look to where Officer Davis was pointing, his eyes froze on his face in shock.
A woman with long black hair in a black dress was making her way slowly through the wall. When her feet touched the floor, she walked over to the two gunmen; then, she lowered her face to listen if either one of them was breathing. A smile crossed her lips.
“Who are you?” Officer Anderson managed to whisper as a glistening sheen of sweat plastered across his forehead.
She brought her index finger to her lips. “Shhh,” she said as she turned around and started to walk away.
“Hey, hey, where are you going?” Officer Davis called out to her. “Come back, or we’ll shoot you.”
She threw her head and laughed out loud. Then she vanished into thin air.

Being normal is underrated.
Red Ryder has been going to Wonderland Guardian Academy since middle school, but she still doesn’t belong. At 16 years old, she doesn’t have any magical talents to speak of, and the rest of her peers know it. She may as well be a typical, mundane human, and the witch sisters make her school life miserable. How is she supposed to help humanity as a guardian when she may as well be one of them?
But Red is a wolf tracker–though she doesn’t come into her powers until the death of the current wolf tracker in her family, her grandmother. Her blood carries the wolfsbane gene, the only thing that helps humans build a resistance to the Lycan virus. Her family has been donating blood for ages in the hopes of keeping the virus at bay.
When her grandmother becomes too sick to do her job, the werewolf community wonders why their tracker has gone on hiatus. And one pack alpha decides it’s time to get rid of the line of wolf trackers once and for all.

Reverse Harem Romances ~ #newreleases #BookHooks #reverseharem #whychoose
I think one of the most common questions I’ve seen in romance forums lately is “What is Reverse Harem, exactly?”
At a very basic level, a reverse harem romance is about one woman in concurrent relationships with three or more men. At the end of the story, rather than choose one among them, she chooses to continue having relationships with all of them.
Other than that basic premise–encoded in the RH motto “Why Choose?”–a reverse harem may belong to any subgenre of romance. A reverse harem novel may be paranormal, contemporary, science fiction, young adult, adult… as you can see in the variety of reverse harem books I’ve recently released.
