favourite authors
Who is my favourite author?
I’ve been hearing this quite a bit lately. And it’s a toughie. How can I possibly have one fave author? I’m a writer, I have tonnes of them.
Okay, it’s more like eight. But I keep uncovering gems like Maggie Stiefvater and the Shiver trilogy (how did I not know about this series??).
So, here are my favourite authors right now (in no particular order):
Kathy Reichs
Jack Kerouac
Kaleb Nation
Maggie Stiefvater
Stephenie Meyer
Janet Evanovich
Alexander McCall Smith
Jackson Pearce
Launch Party & Goodies
The launch party for My Never was a success! Can’t believe it’s come and gone. It was a great afternoon filled with brownie sundaes and games (sadly, forgot to snap some photos). I gave away prizes, some of which were the paperback copies of My Never (which arrived the week before).
My favourite delivery ever! Thanks to all who came. Now, I’ve gotta go finish the sequel The Worry List before this caffeine high fades …

The weekend
I've been so busy these past couple of weeks, that I haven't had any time to chill out - or do anything but edit (and guzzle coffee like there's no tomorrow and some more editing). I've been working on both the e-book and soft cover book of
My Never
, trying to get that last little bits done.
But while it's important to get your work finished, it's also important to take a break, to recharge the batteries. So, I'm looking forward to the weekend, when I can finally relax and (hopefully) forget about things for a while. Can I last two days without creeping back into my office to check my email or twitter? I don't know ... I guess we'll see.
Have a great weekend!
The My Never e-book is available on Tuesday August 20th.

Following Your Dreams
One of my best friends has always encouraged me to follow my dreams. It wasn’t until I was in my mid-twenties that I discovered what that was: to see a book of mine in print. I’ve always loved writing. When I was a child, I used to write poems and stories to entertain myself. But I never thought about perusing it as a career.
That is, until I wrote a novel. And then another. And now I can’t seem to go a day without writing
something. I’m a word nerd of epic proportions - but what writer isn’t?
My first published book, a novella, is due out soon. And I can't wait to have it in my hands. A dream come true.
Join me on the rollercoaster ride of writing, editing and getting published, with a hint of sarcasm thrown in for good measure.
My Never, a novella, due out in August. Read all about it here.
