Join my Writers Helping Writers FB Group for Indie Authors

writershelpingwriters

Taking a short break from my string of posts about my recent game projects, I wanted to let folks know about a new Facebook group community I’ve recently launched. Writers Helping Writers is a private Facebook group for indie authors and self-publishers — whether you have books out or are interested in self-publishing in the future.

The idea here is to create an online community where indie authors of all backgrounds and interests can come together to talk shop, network, learn from one anoth...

This Book Is A Dungeon – The Virtual Mixtape (Vol. I) *Please Listen and Share!*

mixtape1

Throughout development of my dark indie horror game, This Book Is A Dungeon, I drew a lot of inspiration from a very specific set of tunes. I listened to a ton of music as I wrote the game, and it really helped me wrap my head around this grim world I built. These songs impacted some of the writing, helped to set the tone, and they’re the sounds I hear in my head when I play this game (which has no audio or SFX actually in-game).

Expertise to Income Won a Small Product Lab People’s Choice Award!

peopleschoiceLast week I wrapped up planning, building, and launching an online video course that I createdin 10 days as part of Gumroad’s Small Product Lab challenge. It was an amazing experience, a lot of fun, and some serious hard work.

This week, I’m working hard to wrap up the videos for the third and final module I’ll be updating the course with soon, but I just found out that I was one of five People’s Choice winners from this latest challenge. Super cool!

I’m really excited about both the quality...

Indie Game Mag covers This Book Is A Dungeon in Digital Print Edition!

indiegamemagcoverage2

Almost forgot! This Book Is A Dungeon was featured in the October 2015 (digital) print edition of Indie Game Magazine, with this really cool two-page spread. It’s a neat write-up that focuses more heavily on the original game dev diary and book/game hybrid aspect of the project. It touches on the game itself, too, though to a much lesser extent. Great piece, nonetheless!

A few choice quotes:

“Nathan Meunier has created a dungeon crawler horror game filled with HP Lovecraft-inspired monsters...

smalllabParticipating in the latest round of Gumroad’s Small Product Lab challenge has been a really exciting and empower experience so far! Gaining Momentum with a 5,600+ Word Writing Day @Gumroad’s #SPLDay2 Diary

version2 copy

On Monday, I started Gumroad’s Small Product Lab challenge, and had a prolific 4,000+ word writing day that I blogged about here. That was exciting, exhausting, and a lot of work. Or so I thought at the time. Yesterday was Day 2, and I somehow managed to hit an additional 5,600+ words for what will become the ebook and script portion of a short online course I’m building and launching (in a 10 day timeframe). Whew.

The crazy thing is I’m alittle behind schedule, even after bashing outa hair...
