Create an Amazon Link that Actually Works for You

A few people have asked about Amazon links, and how to use them to move up the food chain (so to speak) in the search engine.First of all, Amazon does, and should keep all of their algorithms to themselves. Letting people know how to manipulate them would lead to terrible misuse. However, there are a few things that can help a seller takeadvantage. And no, this isn’t a sure fire cheat that’ll push you beyond the brink of success. You still have to have a good product, or you’ll fall off the l...

An Author's Dilemma. The Difficult Choices of Book Presentation.

A great deal of effort went into the creation of Inspiration. The reviews have been fantastic. It has even been accepted for distribution by Barnes & Noble's small press department. That may not sound like much, but having a huge store add a book to their database is no easy task. With great reviews and even a paperback distribution agreement, why would you ever change anything? It all comes down to appeal. Although readers of our titles have picked up Inspiration and are letting us know how m...

Inspiration is out

Inspiration, the latest book by Douglas Pershing, released August 15th. The video book trailer, shown below, was posted on Facebook and quickly garnered over 4,000 views prompting several book sales onAmazon. It's always difficult to get noticed in the Amazon marketplace of, literally, millions of books. I'm told one new book is listed on Amazon every 5 minutes. That's crazy! Anyway, thanks for noticing, and let's start leaving some reviews. You have no idea how much it means—and helps—to have...

Revolutionaries is with the Editor — Let the Work on Primaries Commence

With much angst we have turned the Revolutionaries manuscript over to the editor. Based on the feedback we should be able to estimate a release date. Hopefully we should be able set a date in September, 2016. If we have more work to do it may end up being in October. In the mean time we have started work on Primaries, the fourth, and last book in the current Shifters series.I can't give away any of the plot without spoiling the story line of Revolutionaries, so you'll have to wait.Sorry about...

Inspiration available August 15th, 2016

The latest novel by Douglas Pershing will release on the 15th of August. The reviews have been better than I could have expected.I'm excited to finally have it out there.A little about the history of this story. The idea came from many places, but it started one day as I was looking through the young adult section of the Barnes and Nobel at the San Tan Mall in Gilbert, Arizona. It was probably around two years ago. On one of the covers there was this guy staring with this intense look. I'm pre...

Why Aren’t You Taking Advantage of Kindle Unlimited?

Have you seen that little tag next to the book you really want to buy that says “$0.00?” Who wouldn’t want a book for free—well not free. More like an all-you-can-eat buffet.“But it’s only for subscribers, right?”Yes. That’s true, but have you ever hesitated over that purchase button thinking, “Should I spend the money?” How many books do you read in a month? How many would you read if you weren’t so worried about that pesky thing called a budget? For just $9.99 a month—seriously, you’re spend...
