A fitting end to the Well Spring Series

Spirit Bridge is the third and final book of the Well Spring series. I strongly recommend starting with Soul’s Gate and also reading Memory’s Door. You could follow the story of Spirit Bridge without the other two,...

My battle with Pinocchio

Creative writing has always been something I’ve enjoyed even as early as grade school. My grandmother was a professional artist, and all her grandchildren were artistic. I can’t draw to save my life, but I love creative writing.

I would get all jazzed up and do some writing, or take a class, or even go to an event or conference. But writing remained something that I dabbled in but never had enough time for. I hesitated to tell my friends about my d...

My story for National Suicide Prevention Day

My aunt saved my life and she might not even know it.

I’ve always been a little strange. A little different. While I’ve embraced it now, and I’m comfortable in my own skin, that hasn’t always been the case.

During my early adolescence, I belonged on the Island of Misfit Toys. I wasn’t athletic enough for the Jocks. I definitely wasn’t getting anywhere near the Cool Kids table. I didn’t wear the right kind of clothes for the Preppies. I didn’t partak...

And ‘No’ Is a Perfectly Acceptable Answer

As a writer, from time to time, I’ll need to seek out the assistance of other people. I might be asking a friend to be an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) reader, or asking an author friend for an endorsement. Even in my day-to-day life, I have moments where I need to ask for help. Maybe I need someone more mechanically inclined to help me fix my leaf blower, or I need my mom to watch the kids for the afternoon.

I don’t like asking for help. It feels awkward. I don’t want to be an imposition on...

Justice for Westview is coming

As WandaVision wrapped up, many viewers felt dissatisfied with the lack of justice for the residents of Westview. These people were held hostage with their very identities rewritten to be the unwitting actors in Wanda’s sitcoms. In an interview with TVLine, showrunner Matt Shakman and head writer Jac Schaeffer explained their thinking for the way they handled the issue, but their answer still left some disappointed.

But justice is coming for the residents of Westview.

Massive spoilers ...

Where are Luke, Leia, Han and Ben Solo during The Mandalorian?

I adore The Mandalorian. It’s such a great show and a joy to watch. As Mando looks for a Jedi to train The Child, some fans have begun to wonder about the whereabouts of the most famous Jedi Master of time, Luke Skywalker. Where is Luke, his sister Leia, his friend Han and their son, Ben Solo — who goes onto become Kylo Ren, the villain of the sequel trilogy — at the time of The Mandalorian?

The Mandalorian is set in 9 ABY (After the Battle of Yavin). The Battle of Endor, the climatic battle ...

The origin of the popular Live Long and Prosper social distancing greeting

In these days of social distancing and reduced contact, people are using alternative greetings which dont involve physical contact. One of the popular ones, especially with the geekier among us, is the Live long and prosper gesture made famous by the actor Leonard Nimoy on the original Star Trek series.

Most people dont know the history of the greeting, despite Nimoy sharing the story often. Several articles discussed it after Nimoys death in 2015. Nimoy played a member of an alien race...
