TINCAN: A Graphic Novel and Interactive Story App (a Kickstarter campaign by Randy Briley)

TINCAN is a fable set in the distant future. It features a giant tree-felling robot named Rex. Rex encounters a crow on his latest assignment to chop down one of the few remaining forests in the area. The crow and Rex struggle to understand each other throughout the book. The crow wonders, “How can a mindless machine simply run amuck and destroy peaceful habitats? How can he allow animals, forests, rivers, and valleys to be destroyed and paved over in the name of progress?” For his part, Rex doesn’t understand why the crow doesn’t believe that more homes, stores, and parking lots make the world an exciting place where everyone gets what they want. The two debate this throughout the book until the story concludes in an unexpected fashion. This is an entertaining and original book with an important message. It combines stop motion puppet work, sculpting, model building, painting, photography, digital work, green screen shooting and more.

This is a huge, ambitious project created by a single dedicated artist who needs your help bringing its message into the world. Please take a moment to read more about the project, view Randy’s video (kids may enjoy seeing the model robot Randy built from scratch), discover the rewards available when you offer your support, and help spread the word. Thank you! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1430302120/tincan-a-graphic-novel-and-interactive-story-app-w
