The Druid – cover reveal (WOW)!

As I always do when a new novel is complete, I sent my cover designers a rough idea of how I wanted the cover to look. For The Druid I asked for big fonts, the carnyx, stone circle –  everything you see here. I wasn’t really prepared for just how AWESOME they would make it though! Honestly,... Continue Reading →

Ancient Roman book reviews! Saviour of Rome by Douglas Jackson and The Silver Pigs by Lindsey Davis

TWO  Roman books  this time – one a regular hardback and one in audio. Coincidentally they have similar themes, with crooks stealing gold or silver from the mines of Roman provinces but the tales are quite different. I’m a massive, massive fan of Douglas Jackson’s Gaius Valerius Verrens character and Saviour of Rome is... Continue Reading →

THE DRUID – coming soon (really)

So, at last, I have some news about my new novel The Druid. It seems there’s not much hunger for historical action adventure books among publishers right now, so, as I did with my Forest Lord books, I’ll be publishing Druid myself. That means I need to have it edited by my usual editor and have cover art... Continue Reading →

Results of my recent WOLF’S HEAD free promotion

As you know, I gave away book 1 in my Forest Lord series, Wolf’s Head, over three days last week. Some authors don’t agree with offering their hard work for free but the idea is that people will discover your writing, enjoy it, and go on to purchase your other books at full price. Everyone wins.... Continue Reading →

Dumbarton Castle and Bellicus the druid

My new book The Druid and, much more so it’s sequel, Song of the Centurion, feature Dumbarton Castle as a location. The main character and, to my mind, star of the books, Bellicus the warrior-druid, is based at this fantastic ancient fortress although he does travel all around Britain.   The series is set in the fifth...
