Scandalous Whispers of the Remmington Realm: Book Two
Orley Garrick is known throughout Angland not only as the man with two dukedoms but also as the hero who survived a brutal kidnapping at the hands of Nafoleon’s army, never once betraying the secrets of His Majesty. Still haunted by his memories, Orley pushes his crippled body to dangerous limits, all in an attempt to run from the demons of his past.

Until he meets Chester Boland, a maid in his friend’s household. Orley is besieged by desire for this gorgeous male woman, and by a connection he cannot ignore. But there are those within the Remmington Realm who take issue with the Duke’s choice—especially given Chester’s Tafrican lineage.

Having stared death in the face and won, Orley proposes they steal away and elope. However, before they can begin their new life, they uncover dangerous secrets that go deeper than they could ever imagine—involving those they trust the most.
Orley and Chester must discover exactly how deep these secrets run before their enemies make sure Chester is removed from Orley’s arms… forever.

Excerpt:

THE SHARP retort of gunfire exploded around Orley Garrick, Duke of Whitcomb, and he ducked, trying to avoid the debris and the bodies of fallen soldiers around him as he surged forward. The smoke from the countless rifles burned his eyes as he desperately looked for the person who had caught his eye. He heard the cries of the dying calling out to him as he rode his horse farther into the thick of battle. Using his sword, he cut down an enemy soldier who raced toward him, mouth open as he let out a battle cry. Orley closed his eyes against the spray of blood across his face and blocked out the sound of the man’s death gurgle as he fell to the ground beneath his own horse.

Orley raced on toward the figure in white who didn’t belong on the battlefield. He called out a warning, telling the woman to be careful, because there was no way a man would be on a battlefield wearing a long, flowing white chemise, free of dust and bloodstain, appearing almost angelic among the crowd of soldiers. The woman didn’t stop. Instead she walked straight toward the commander of the enemy soldiers, and fear filled Orley. He wasn’t sure why; he didn’t know the woman, and yet he could not let anything happen to her.

At that moment, the woman turned to look at him, and Orley gasped when he realized the woman in front of him was not female as he’d suspected but male. Why in the world was a lady on the battlefield?

“You should not be here!” he yelled, trying to warn the male, but just as he got close enough to lift the woman onto the back of his horse, an enemy soldier plunged his sword through the woman’s back and out through his chest. Orley watched helplessly as the woman’s eyes widened moments before he collapsed to the ground, and a grief unlike aught he’d ever experienced ripped through him.

He was not sure how he knew, but the dying woman belonged to him, and someone had just taken him away.

Tossing his head back, Orley let out an anguished shout at the heavens.

ORLEY WOKE, panting and sweating, in the home of his friend, Heathcliff.

Holy. Shit. That one had been very different from his other nightmares. He rubbed his face with his hand and groaned as pain raced through his leg—the one that would never be the same. All because of war, a battle. All because of….

Orley shook his head. No, he wasn’t going to think about that.

Someone knocked lightly on the door, and Orley winced as he realized his plan to come to his room and take a quick nap after his taxing journey out of Tlondon had turned into a deep sleep and a brand-new nightmare.

God, he hated sleeping.

“Enter,” he called out as he sat up and swung his legs off the bed he was borrowing while visiting Heathcliff and Lucien for their country-house party. The door opened, and Orley turned to address the person standing there. He stopped short, almost swallowing his tongue as he took in the vision of the most beautiful creature to have ever been born.

Orley had been privileged to see many beautiful people in his life. Male and female, he was a lover of aesthetically pleasing images and didn’t discriminate. However, all of them paled in comparison to the lovely light-brown-skinned woman in front of him. Orley’s stomach clenched, his groin tightening as he inhaled sharply. The lovely scent of jasmine wafted up to his nostrils, and his eyes slid closed as he relished in the delightful fragrance emanating from the male who had just entered his room.

“Forgive me, Your Grace. I was sent to bring you a light repast and perhaps something to wash up with? His Grace the Duke of Pompinshire thought that perhaps you would like to freshen up before joining the rest of the guests downstairs.” The woman’s voice was soft and lyrical, with a slight lilt to it, and Orley wondered if perhaps he sang. He would have no problem lounging around on the settee listening to him sing or even just talk. Of course, as he took in the male’s appearance, he felt the desire to do much more than just listen to him.

“Your Grace? Are you ill?” the servant asked, and Orley swallowed, shaking his head.

“N-no. I’m fine. Just a bit out of sorts, I’m afraid. I appear to have overslept during my nap, and now I am feeling quite peckish,” he lied.

The woman nodded, his hazel eyes lighting with relief. Orley wondered at that. Was his well-being really of great concern, or was it just because the maid had been sent to look after Orley?

Orley allowed his gaze to rove over the young male’s form again, taking in every detail intently. He would like to have something to conjure up in his mind’s eye later on that evening when he put his hand to his already burgeoning erection.

Wearing the female black dress with a white apron, which was the maid’s uniform that was standard in most homes of the gentry, the young woman had honey blond hair that was currently pulled back in a very luscious chignon at the nape of his neck, and Orley could only imagine how long and thick it was. An image rose to his brain of that hair hanging down over his face as the young woman slid up and down his cock, and he pressed a hand to the sheets covering his waist. The young male’s skin was almond colored, and all Orley wanted to do was spend hours licking every inch of his body. He was not overly tall, only a few inches taller than Lucien, Heath’s husband, but still much shorter than Orley. And where Orley was all hard, thick muscles, the male maid before him was slender, though still with a lovely, toned body.

His slim-fingered hands held a covered silver tray, and Orley gestured him forward with a beckoning wave.

“Well, far be it from me to refuse such generosity from His Grace. You can just place it there on the nightstand,” he directed, watching the sway of the servant’s hips beneath the skirt of his maid’s gown as he walked toward the cherrywood nightstand. Orley shoved his fingers through his blond locks, messing up his hair and throwing his queue into disarray. He was unnerved as the vestiges of the nightmare faded from his mind, wreaking havoc with the lovely, distracting image of Heathcliff’s maid, whose form even now was causing a pleasurable ache in his balls.

“Is there anything else that I can do for you, Your Grace?” the maid asked, his voice hushed, eyes downcast, and a slight tinge of red to his light brown skin.

Vic is a proud trans* and gay man, and when he is not writing, he is hanging out with his friends, or being distracted by videos of John Barrowman, Scott Hoying, and Shemar Moore. Vicktor has published numerous bestselling novels and has a WIP list that makes him exhausted just thinking about. He knows that he will be still be writing about hot men falling in love with each other, long after he is living in an assisted living facility, flirting with the hot, male nurses.

Simon Tyler knows his job as a gay romance author makes his lack of faith in love more than a little ironic, but he’s tired of being used for his wallet. When a night out turns into a matchmaking scheme orchestrated by his best friends—though he’s not the target—Simon’s not thrilled, but since he’s sworn off happily-ever-after anyway, he goes along with it… until he meets the object of their efforts, Adrian, and finds perhaps he hasn’t given up on love after all.

Professor Adrian Keys has tried to date hearing men before, but being deaf himself, he’s never had any success at making a connection. After his friends con him into going out and Adrian realizes it’s all an elaborate plan to set him up, he braces for yet another failure, only to discover there is a spark—except it’s not with the man his friends had in mind, but with Simon Tyler instead.

Not all their friends have found a way past their romantic failures, but Simon and Adrian might be on the path to happily-ever-after.

This story takes place after Desires’ Guardian and Temptations of Desire, but in the spring and summer of 2014. This becomes important near the end of the story, as certain events unfold. I usually don’t give a “time” so that the stories aren’t beholden to any specific year or time, but, the events both in the book and that happened in real life are too important not to note. Thank you so much for again taking the time to read along with my characters’ lives and loves. Please note, you can read the short Desires’ Pride for a more in-depth peek at the specifics of why this date and time (out Nov 2nd!)

Also, the Drag Ball mentioned later in the story, as well as the program the money raised through the ball, are very real and sadly needed. If you are a youth in the greater Milwaukee Area and in need of help, Pathfinders (http://pathfindersmke.org/) is there to help.

The other place of import mentioned here and throughout the series is the MKE LGBT Community Center (http://www.mkelgbt.org/). They also provide services for teens, adults, and older members in the LGBTQ community.

In my stories the Center is a combination of the MKE LGBT Center and Pathfinders.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Series: A Caddo Norse Novel #1

Cover Artist: Shayla Mist

Length: 305 Pages

Blurb: Haven Naranjo is a proud Caddo Indian, with a frightening past. He was a mere fifteen year old boy when he found his parents, part of his tribe, and his high school sweetheart slaughtered by a wereman gone mad. Falling victim to a system that is not always prepared to deal with a shattered young mind, Haven finally gives up on himself. He grows up to be bitter and hateful toward the creatures he hate. Werewolves.

Alexander Prescott is the younger of the two Prescott boys and comes from a large werewolf clan. But things are bigger than that. Alexander, is the true vessel of the Fenrir Ulv and is to become the leader of all supernatural beings, the King of Wolves. On top of that, he’s in love with Haven. He’s known since he hit puberty that Haven is his true mate. But there’s one problem, Haven hates what he can become. However, Alexander has a plan on how he is to charm his, and his wolf’s way into the grumpy Caddo Indian man’s heart.

But fate has other plans for them. The Asa Guard enters their calm country living, determined to use their own kind against them and kill the true vessel—Alexander Prescott.

When war between the Asa Gods and the Fenrir Ulv starts knocking on their door, what side will the damaged Haven choose? Will he find a way of trusting those, especially Alexander, who he feels has betrayed him and let his animal, the eagle, lead him straight to his fate by his mate’s side? Or will he trust the words of strangers, who come to make his quest of seeing all shifters dead a reality?

Haven’s Revenge is a story of an emotional journey for a whole community. It’s about finding acceptance not just from others but in yourself.

EXCERPT

Haven leaned back on his heels, quickly wiping his cum covered hand off on the grass before getting up, mumbling under his breath as he gave Alexander a quick glance. “What the fuck was I thinking?”

He stumbled toward camp, braiding his hair back with determination.

At first Alexander was taken aback, almost shocked by his abrupt, cold dismissal but it only lasted for a few short seconds before he got his bearings again. His new found confidence and possessive streak took over. Like the swift “animal” he actually was, he stood, crossing Haven’s path in no time. When their eyes met, sparks flew. There was nothing submissive at all with the look that sparked in Alexander’s eyes.

“No. You’re mine, Haven. Mine. I’ve waited for you for years and I’m done. Get used to it because you belong to me now.” His voice was calm but there was no misunderstanding the words that were spoken. He gripped Haven’s jaw in one firm grip. With a great force, that shouldn’t have been possible, he claimed Haven’s lips with his own, forcing his tongue into his mouth as he gasped at the heated intrusion. Dominating Haven and the kiss completely Haven couldn’t help but to give himself permission to melt into the hungry kiss. Just for a few seconds. When Alexander finally broke off the kiss, they were both breathing hard lips still only inches apart as they tried to stare each other out. Haven was the one who looked away first.

Alexander gave him a calm, almost arrogant smirk before turning his attention to getting himself dressed, rather than standing around with his jeans halfway down his thighs.

“In your dreams,” Haven muttered, shaking his head. He was pissed at himself for letting his emotions get the better of him. See what losing control did? It fucked everything up, and what the hell was wrong with Alexander? That kid needed a new hobby, one that didn’t involve him. But Haven feared that Alexander had made up his mind and wasn’t letting go.

“Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

He was so screwed.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Phetra often refers to herself as the odd man out, the dorky book nerd who rather spend her time with a good book or making up fantastic stories with even more fantastic characters, than live in the real world dealing with real people.

The real world is strange in a very non humorous way and people in it complicate it to the point of wearing you out. In the world of the written word no matter if it is in someone else’s words or that of her own things might get busy, complicated, and sometime even plain painful but somewhere along the line there is always a hero on the horizon. He might not be prime or proper, a church going pretty boy since the author prefer rebellious men and women who don’t follow the protocols of society.

One of her favorite saying are that only dead fish follow the stream and well she ain’t no dead fish.

Phetra live together with her family, two children, a domestic partner and their two cats in Gothenburg, Sweden and when reading her books you will notice that she always finds a way of bringing her on culture into her books.

The joy of writing and reading comes from her childhood and is something she has always loved, something she is passionate to share with others. Phetra loves hearing from her readers even with ideas of what they want to come next.

If you are looking for her the best place to start looking for her is at home in the quietest corner of the house where you’ll find her either curled up with her Kindle or her laptop typing away.

Author bio:

Grace Duncan grew up with a wild imagination.  She told stories from an early age – many of which got her into trouble.  Eventually, she learned to channel that imagination into less troublesome areas, including fanfiction, which is what has led her to writing male/male erotica.

A gypsy in her own right, Grace has lived all over the United States.  She has currently set up camp in East Texas with her husband and children – both the human and furry kind.

As one of those rare creatures who loves research, Grace can get lost for hours on the internet, reading up on any number of strange and different topics.  She can also be found writing fanfiction, reading fantasy, crime, suspense, romance and other erotica or even dabbling in art.

Dirty Dozen #Blog #Hop: Aisling Mancy

Welcome to the Dirty Dozen Blog Hop!

12 GRL Authors | 12 Question Q&A | 12 book Giveaway

We’re gearing up for Gay Rom Lit Retreat in San Diego so it’s time for another ‘Dirty Dozen’ blog hop and giveaway event! As with last year, Tammy collected twelve different Featured and Supporting Authors from GRL and we answered twelve questions posed to each other for the hop. Each Author is donating an eBook to the giveaway, so one lucky person will walk away with a dozen books for their enjoyment!

A special thanks to Tempe O’Riley for hosting me for the GRL Dirty Dozen! Most of you know me as Cody Kennedy and know that I write for young adults. I also write for adults under Aisling “Ash” Mancy! Surprise! It’s a pleasure to be here and I hope you enjoy my answers to the Dirty Dozen!

AE Via asks: Do you fully outline a book? Or do you sit and let the thoughts flow as you type?
I don’t outline my stories. I jot a few notes to create a skeleton of what I intend to write then I write! #OfficialPanster

My own question: Describe your writing style in five words; and what about that style sets you apart from other authors in your genre(s)?

Reality meets Hollywood with hope. I was raised by a prolific author and grew up in Hollywood—spent way too much time on movie sets as a kid—and my mind operates in film mode nearly 100% of the time. It gave me a unique perspective in storytelling and I combine reality with the fantastic in an effort to give readers more than a mere Happily Ever After. Hope is essential and, without it, we have nothing. I aim for a penultimate feel-good HEA along with enduring hope.

Alexa Land asks: What are you currently working on, and what can we expect from you in 2016?
It’s going to be an action-packed year! I’m currently finishing Elpizo, book three in the Hope series. A Solitary Man (co-write with Shira Anthony) releases on November 6th of this year, Sleight of Heart releases in December of this year, and Grotesque is planned to release in February, 2016. Along with these works, two sequels to the young adult novel Omorphi Tharros and Elipizo—will release in 1st and 2nd quarters, 2016. In addition, I will write another young adult novel for the 50th anniversary of the Arno River Flood of 1966 in Florence, Italy entitled Mud Angels (Angeli del Fango) to celebrate the youth who helped restore priceless books and art after the flood. Assuming I remain appropriately caffeinated, you may even see two sexy adult works, Aeromancer (Sci-Fi), and Shooting Star (Spec: Urban-Dystopian-Post-apocalyptic-Romance-with-a-splash-of-Sci-Fi. Yes! It is possible!).

Carter Quinn asks: What’s the answer to the one question no interviewer has ever asked? (You don’t have to supply the question.)
This is a fantastic question. If you’re curious, ask. I don’t mind questions asked in earnest.

Jeff Adams askes:  When you’re stuck on a story, what do you do to get the words flowing again?
I capitulate. I surrender to the story gods, agree that it is not time for the story to come to life, and walk away from it. Some nominal measure into another work, the pieces fall into place and I’m back at it with renewed fervor.

LE Franks asks: What’s your favorite scene from your own work and the one that’s lingered longest from someone else’s. (Not genre specific.)
This is an extraordinarily difficult question and I don’t believe I can answer it. I have too many favorites in both adult and young adult genres. That said, I’ll name two that are significant to me:

In Omorphi , Christy is devastated that his psychologist may have said something about his horrid background of abuse to his new boyfriend, Michael. Christy panics, runs, and Michael runs after him. When Michael catches up to Christy, Christy breaks down, and labels himself with blasphemous words.

In Contact by Carl Sagan, a youngster on a fieldtrip visiting the New Mexico satellite dish array asks Ellie Arroway, “Do you believe in aliens?” Her answer is, “The universe is a pretty big place. If it’s just us, seems like an awful waste of space.”

Morticia Knight asks: What is your favorite genre to read? Least favorite?
Favorites would be spec and science fiction; least favorite is memoirs.

Nic Starr asks: Tell us about your writing environment and where your writing time fits into your daily or weekly schedule.
Although I do deal with the agony of RL work, I am able to write during the majority of most weeks. I’m nocturnal and my writing environment is wherever I am. I’ve written since the age of seven and I am now older than dirt. In fact, I’ll likely be one of the eldest people at GRL. (Is there an award for that?) I can write almost anywhere. If you’re asking of the writing office, it’s a large open space with many windows and three parrots that critique my writing. Sadly, they do not contribute to story or character arcs, or plot points.

Nicole Dennis asks: How do you manage all of your new plot bunnies and what is your process to work on one?
I do two things to manage: 1) I have a folder on the laptop that contains ideas by genre. I simply open a word document, type the idea in a few sentences, and save it by genre with a nonsensical title. By way of example, I have one entitled ADD Heart. 2) I have a physical pile of ideas. I may read an article or run across a quote, and I print and mark it in big letters with genre and nonsensical title (red Sharpie pen), and add it to the pile. At the end of the year, I scan all the documents in the pile and add them to the folder on the laptop. I try to be organized, but there are times when I am an epic fail and the sticky-notes prevail.

When it comes to process, there is no rhyme or reason, per se. Experience in writing and film tells us that publishing and producing are slated five to eight years out and I try to keep fingertips on the pulses of both industries. I look at what they’re looking for next and then assess: a) what I feel like writing; and b) what may be of use from the “piling system.”

TM Smith asks: What keeps you focused when writing?
Excitement about what I am writing. If I am excited, even three talking parrots can’t distract me.

Tempe O’Riley asks: In a perfect world, would you write full-time? If so, would it be mm/LGBT or would there be some mf in there too? (I love a mix for reading, personally.)
I write nearly full-time now, I write in various venues, and in almost all genres (never nonfiction). I also write works-made-for-hire as well as my own works.

Wade Kelly asks: What influenced your decision to write in this genre?
The youth for whom I advocate nagged me forever to write for them. To wit, I wrote Safe, Omorphi, and Slaying Isidore’s Dragons. At the time, traditional publishers were only beginning to delve into publishing young adult LGBT works and I couldn’t find a traditional publisher for the books. Dreamspinner Press had just started Harmony Ink Press, their YA imprint, and I submitted Omorphi. While I’d written LGBT literature in the past, I’d never written pure romance and was certain Omorphi would be rejected. Thanks to Elizabeth North and Anne Regan, it wasn’t, and here I am today.

Excerpt from A Solitary Man :

Evan pressed the button on his phone to connect. “Freddy? What did you find out?”
Fred laughed. “For this, I’m going to exact a price.”
“You mean the keg I sprang for at graduation doesn’t get me a freebie?” Evan shot back.
“We’ve been out of law school for how many years now? Eight?”
“Nine this year,” Evan corrected.
“Credit’s no good anymore,” Fred answered. “I’m thinking dinner at Ivy at the Shore next time you’re in LA. On you, of course. Including a bottle of Veuve Clicquot.”
“For that,” Evan said with a chuckle, “this had better be good.”
“It’s good. And it was hell to get.”
“Okay, okay. Dinner on me. Assuming you and Margie put me up for the night,” Evan replied. “I’m looking forward to seeing your McMansion.”
“Deal. Took a little digging. Seems your mystery man did some undercover work for the FBI.”
“And?”
“My buddy in the US Attorney’s office wouldn’t give details, but word is Constantine got fed up with the bullshit after a case went bad somewhere down in South America.”
“Drugs?” Evan asked.
“No. He dealt with human trafficking. Specifically, child sex trafficking. My friend says the guy’s good. He tried a few cases where Constantine was the government’s key witness. Knows his stuff. Works his ass off and gets into his work. I got the impression sometimes he gets a little too close.”
Now that was interesting. “Why?”
“Seems the guy’s rabid about protecting kids.”
“Any idea why?”
“Nothing anyone would tell me,” Fred replied.
Evan leaned back in his chair. At least Xav wasn’t a slacker, but it didn’t make Evan feel any better about the prospect of bumping into him at work. “Anything else?”
“Constantine grew up in LA, went to school in Boston.”
“Boston?” Even more interesting. So much for his initial assessment of Xav as a broceanographer.
“Yeah, you’ll love this.”
Evan could almost hear Freddy’s grin over the phone.
“He did undergrad at MIT. Mathematics major. Master’s in criminology from U Penn with an emphasis in cryptology. The FBI was probably falling all over itself to recruit him.”
No shit. This just got better and better. “What the hell’s a guy with that kind of background doing in North Carolina?”
“I could ask you the same question,” Fred shot back. “Of course, if you decide you want your own McMansion….”
“You couldn’t pay me enough to come to work for you,” Evan joked. Fred was serious—they’d had this discussion a half-dozen times before.
“Try me.” Fred paused for a moment and then asked, “This personal?”
Evan had no intention of telling Fred he’d slept with Xav. “Not personal.”
“’Cause word has it he’s gay,” Fred said. “Out but not advertising.” When Evan didn’t take the bait, Fred added, “But you already knew that, didn’t you?”
Evan shook his head and sighed theatrically. “Don’t even go there, Freddy. You know I don’t mix business and pleasure. I just want to know what I’m dealing with. That’s all.”
“You can’t bullshit a bullshitter, man.”
“Thanks for the help,” Evan said, foreclosing the topic. “I’ll let you know next time I’m out your way. Tell Margie she’s a brave woman.”
“Always do. Laters. And make sure you get your sorry ass out here soon.”
“Will do.” Evan disconnected the call and rubbed his mouth. Mathematics major at MIT and a master’s from U Penn? No wonder the FBI had recruited him. And he’d pegged Xav for a surfer! What the hell are you doing in Dare’s Landing, Xavier Constantine?

“Caged Sanctuary” Now Available in #Audio!

Yep, you read that right! Caged Sanctuary is now out as an audiobook! As of the evening of September 24th, Caged Sanctuary became available and ready for you to listen to. When Dreamspinner Press told me they were going to make CS into an audio, I was thrilled. I know so many people that love audio, so I’m a huge supporter of audiobooks.

It’s on Audible and Amazon right now. It takes longer to get added to iTunes, if I remember correctly. But the main link HERE will take you to the Dreamspinner Press page for Caged Sanctuary where any and all links to my kinky romance is able to be purchased for your listening pleasure Winking smile

So, without further adieu, here’s Caged Sanctuary!

Kaden Thorn, a dental surgeon who lives a quiet life, has no hope of finding the love he craves. A vicious gay bashing cost him the use of his legs and confined him to a wheelchair. He has given up hope of finding a Dom or even a nonkink partner to love him. When his best friend practically forces him to attend a dinner party, the last thing he expects is a strong Dom who can see beyond his wheels.

Deacon James is an architect and a demanding Dom, but he has spent the past couple of years without a sub or partner. When an employee invites him to a dinner party to meet his girlfriend, Deacon smells a setup but agrees anyway. He prides himself on being an excellent judge of character, and when he meets the younger dentist, he sees past the chair and finds a sweet submissive man who more than piques his interest.

Kade’s fears and demons continue to haunt him, challenging Deacon to use everything he’s learned as a Dom to earn Kade’s trust and submission. Deacon’s determined, though, willing to battle all of it to have Kade by his side and at his feet.

TheExcerpt

I cupped Sawyer’s cheek. He blinked up at me, wonder filling his eyes. The light of the lantern reflected in his irises, turning the layers of green into sunbathed fields and dense forests. I pressed my forehead against his. His skin was soft beneath my touch, like silk sliding through my fingers. I stroked my thumb just beneath his eye, then kissed each of his eyelids.

His breath hitched, and my stomach tightened at the sharp intake of air. Sawyer tipped his head up, lips parted. I turned away, dusting small kisses to the corners of his mouth.

“You’re teasing me,” Sawyer whispered.

“No,” I said, tone hushed, “I’m remembering you.”

A hand slid up my arm. I smiled over my shoulder at Jesse. He drew me back, until we all lay stretched out on the bed. Arm tangled with arm, and hand sought hand. I didn’t know where one limb began and one ended. I closed my eyes, and my exhaustion rolled over me in a tide that threatened to drag me under.

Desires’ Guardian (book 2, Desires Entwined series)

Most people see Chase Manning as the party-boy twink he seems on the surface. Only James, Chase’s BFF, knows the depth of his loyalty and the extent of the wounds Chase carries inside. When Chase meets Rhys Sayer, things don’t go well, but he can’t shake his attraction to the huge, sexy man.

Rhys is a man of contradictions and fear—a strange combination for a PI and bodyguard. He’s in a bad place emotionally when he sets eyes on Chase for the first time. When Chase puts the moves on him, Rhys insults him, thwarting any possibility of a relationship. Rhys doesn’t see himself as a complicated man, but he dreads the very kind of connection he desires.

Just as they’re trying to overcome their uncertainties, Chase is put in harm’s way. Luckily Rhys and their friends have all the right talents to help Rhys save the man of his dreams.

Pansexuality and Me: Defining the term for me.

Morning my lovelies!

I was part of a release day party recently (thank you, Kayelle Allen) and was asked a great question that I thought I’d comment on here, to you, my lovely readers and friends. I was asked, after I posted my shorted bio, what pansexual was. I was surprised as I more often get asked what genderfluid is (and why I write it as one word, lol).

**Just in case you haven’t seen it, here’s my updated “short” bio:

Homo-Erotic Romance Author, Tempeste O’Riley is an out and proud pansexual genderfluid whose best friend growing up had the courage to do what they couldn’t – defy the hate and come out. He has been their hero ever since. A hopeless romantic who loves strong relationships and happily-ever-afters, Tempeste counts their friends, family, and Muse as their greatest blessings in life.

Tempe’s preferred pronouns are they/them/their/theirs/themselves. Learn more about Tempeste and their writing at http://tempesteoriley.com.

I have been asked this a lot lately, and think my answer from RainbowCon at one of the panels I was on fits best. Pansexual is really being people-sexual. It’s not binary, i.e. about liking men and women. It’s not about the bits or the presentation of the person you are with. It’s truly about the person within ONLY.

Gleaned from Wikipedia… Pansexuality, or omnisexuality, is sexual attraction, romantic love, or emotional attraction toward people of any sex or gender identity. Pansexual people may refer to themselves as gender-blind, asserting that gender and sex are insignificant or irrelevant in determining whether they will be sexually attracted to others. pansexual people are open to relationships with people who do not identify as strictly men or women, and pansexuality therefore rejects the gender binary, the “notion of two genders and indeed of specific sexual orientations.”

Now, for me, I don’t care what bits you have under your clothes, what gender you were born, present as, feel today, tomorrow, yesterday, etc. I only care about the person you are inside. That’s what makes you sexy, what makes me desire you.

Now, that may not be how other may answer you, but for me… that’s who and how I am. I’d love to hear what others have to say. Are there any others here that are pan?

How would you describe what being pansexual is?

EXCLUSIVE EXCERPT

A hand locked on my ankle and pulled my foot out from under me. The world tipped sideways; all the stars spilled out of the galaxy. My head slammed into the ground. I dropped the guns. The grass smelled damp and musky. I groaned and dug my fingers into the dirt. When I looked up, Stu had a gun pointed at my head. Blood poured from his mouth. He didn’t have long. A few minutes, maybe only seconds.

I tipped my head back and looked over at Jesse. At some point, the tables had flipped again. More of Jane’s guards had come, corralling Jesse, Sawyer, and Rio over with Chloe, who lay motionless on the ground. Jaden clung to her. His tiny whimpers punctuated the night.
