Got My Copy of Shattering Halos

I hope everyone’s having a great end to their weekend. What am I doing? Why oohing and aahing over my print copy of Sunniva Dee’s Shattering Halos !

Pumped to receive my copy of Shattering Halos !If you haven’t checked out Sunniva Dee’s NA paranormal romance, you should! Here’s the description:

I am Gaia Samuelle and I should have died in the car accident that killed my friends. Only I didn't. It wasn't a miracle that saved me; it was love. My best friend Marina thinks I'm being seduced by a demon. She thinks she can save me. But she doesn't understand. I don't need saving. All I need is him.

Gabriel is my Protector. He's watched over mortals for centuries. Not once has he broken the rules. Until now. For reasons neither he nor I understand, he let me live. He traded my death for love--our love. And that's forbidden. If Heaven finds out, he'll be annihilated.

Now, we're caught in a war between Heaven and Hell. The battle has begun.

Sounds amazing, right? It is! If you want to read more about it or pick up your copy, click here

The Vanishing Girl is FREE

So, before I begin with the real message, I wanted to point out that if you noticed something different about my website, you’re not just imagining things! I’ve been busy redesigning and updating it so that it’s more user friendly and so that it has more accurate information. (I’m normally just so bad keeping up with technology!) I wanted to give a special thanks to Dan Rix, my fiancé, fellow author, and design coordinator (hehe) for creating the beautiful banner.

Okay, onto the especially good news. Today The Vanishing Girl goes on sale, and guess what? It’s FREE! I rarely do free promotions, so if you’ve considered buying The Vanishing Girl but haven’t done so yet, now is definitely the time to do so! It’s on sale for the next five days, and then it will revert back to $2.99.

If you’re interested in finding out when the sequel is, along with some of my other projects, be sure to either join my mailing list (in the top righthand corner), and/or click on the tab marked “Schedule”.

Lastly, and I know this is what you’ve all been holding your breath for (<—sarcasm, in case you missed it), I’ve posted the playlist for The Vanishing Girl below and in the tab marked “Fun Stuff”. I hope you enjoy the songs as much as I did when I wrote the novel!

The Vanishing Girl Playlist

New Project: The Queen of All That Dies

Today I want to announce a project I’ve been working on for a while now: The Queen of All that Dies , a NA dystopian novel. Here’s a sneak peak:

The Queen of All that Dies

In the future, the world is at war.

For the last decade, King Lazuli of the Eastern Empire has systematically taken over the world. No one knows much about him other than a series of impossible facts: he cannot die, he has not aged since the conflict began, and he wants to rule the world.

All Serenity Freeman has known is bloodshed. War has taken away her mother, her home, her safety. As the future emissary of the Western United Nations, the last autonomous region of the globe, she has the responsibility of forging alliances where she can.

Surrender is on the horizon. The king can taste it; Serenity feels it deep within her bones. There is no other option. Now the two must come face to face. For Serenity, that means facing the man who’s taken everything from her. For the king, it means meeting the one woman he can’t conquer. But when they meet, something happens. Cruelty finds redemption.

Only in war, everything comes with a price. Especially love.

If you enjoyed what you read, click here to add The Queen of All that Dies to your “To Read” list on Goodreads! And stay tuned later on this week for more updates on my books!

Hugs and happy reading,
Laura

Read Hope’s Decree for FREE!

Hi readers!

One of the perks of being an author is that I’ve made a ton of author friends in the process, so I get regular access to great books. It also puts me in a unique position to pass on awesome opportunities for readers. Today, I wanted to mention that my author friend, Angela Mcpherson, is giving away FREE e-copies of her YA novel, Hope’s Decree , in exchange for reviews.

I’ve already read the book, so I can tell you it’s a fantastic read! But, if you need more convincing, here’s the book’s description to get you excited:

When everything else is lost, there is always hope.

While most teens want an epic senior year, Trinity Whitebone hoped for a normal one. Being seventeen was hard enough. Having the emotions of everyone around you in your head made life more than a little difficult.

Until Blain Heros enrolled.

He screamed hot-god in jeans with just his walk. His intense stare warmed her skin like a thousand suns. Unfortunately, his interest in her seemed to run from blazing to freezing in the span of moments and left her nothing but confused. She could deal with things not being normal, but when life goes from strange to dangerous…

Trinity is the direct descendant of Pandora and fated to rectify the terrors released into the world by her curious ancestor. With powers she didn’t know existed and abilities she never wanted, Trinity tries to walk away from everything her life had become. She thought she could turn her back on her fate, until a band of rogue immortals discover who she is and will do whatever it takes to control her powers. Trinity is left with one decision…Embrace fate or die trying.

***

So if you didn’t catch it in the blurb, this is a book based on the myth of Pandora (except it is SO much more)! If you like hot love interests, a kick ass female lead, an action-packed adventure, and are interested in reading the book, here’s what you need to do:

Contact Angela on her Facebook author page—you can click here to do so. Send her a message on her author page to let her know you’re interested in reviewing her novel. She’ll ask you what format you want (.MOBI for kindle users, EPUB for the Nook, etc.) and the email address she should send your ebook to. After you finish reading the novel, write a review for it on amazon.com (versus amazon.uk, amazon.ca, etc.). Click here to be directed to the book’s Amazon page.Once you give her this information, make sure to check your inbox! And lastly, if you’re interested in reading and reviewing the novel but feel at all uncomfortable reaching out to Angela, you should know that us authors absolutely love talking with readers, and reviews are more valuable than gold to us—we want to hear from you! Pinky promise!

Hugs and happy reading,
Laura

Every night after Ember Pierce falls asleep, she disappears. She can teleport anywhere in the world—London, Paris, her crush’s bedroom—wherever her dreams lead her. Ten minutes is all she gets, and once time’s up, she returns to her bed. It's a secret she’s successfully kept for the last five years. But now someone knows.

A week after her eighteenth birthday, when frustratingly handsome Caden Hawthorne captures her, delivers her to the government, and then disappears before her eyes, Ember realizes two things: One, she is not alone. And two, people like her—teleporters—are being used as weapons.

Dragged off to a remote facility where others like her live, Ember’s forced to pair up with her former captor, Caden, to learn how to survive inside until she can escape. Only Caden’s making escape seem less and less appealing.

But even as Ember falls for the boy who got her into this mess, she knows that she is running out of time. Because the government has plans for those like her, and those plans might just cost Ember her life.

Shattering Halos by Sunniva Dee

Hi readers,

I don’t usually recommend books—not that I don’t have oodles and oodles that I’d love to share with you. It’s just that I’m so awful posting any news at all on here that book recommendations often don’t get airtime.

However.

One, I plan on being better with my posts. And two, and more importantly, the book I want to talk about today, Shattering Halos , is super close to my heart. I had the pleasure of reading this book a year ago when it was still a work in progress. And I fell in love. The setting, the characters, the premise, the plot—everything. In the process I became friends with Sunniva Dee, the author of Shattering Halos .

So, what’s it about? Here’s the description:

***

***

How good does that sound?

Here’s a little extra: Gaia, the main character survives what should’ve been a lethal car accident. One of the few things she remembers is that a strange and beautiful man stayed by her side. And once she recovers from her injuries, she starts to see this same mysterious man, even while others can’t. Hooked? Yeah, I was too.

And that’s only the beginning. I won’t spoil the rest, but it has a sizzling romance and an epic plot. So if you’re looking for a new book to read, click here and check Shattering Halos out on Amazon!

Hugs and happy reading,
Laura

Free Copies of The Vanishing Girl

Hi readers!

So if you’ve read over my message about joining my mailing list, you might’ve noticed that I mentioned that readers who join will receive free things. Well, if you’re a member, you just received your first gift, a free, pre-released copy of The Vanishing Girl (so check your inboxes if you haven’t yet!).

For those of you who aren’t yet on the mailing list and want to be, the form to join is on the top righthand corner. This won’t be the last free item I give members of my mailing list, so make sure to sign up now if you haven’t done so yet!

And if you’re just now joining the mailing list and want a free pre-released copy of The Vanishing Girl, you can still get your hands on one up until Friday, February 28. All you have to do is this:

Read The Coveted and write a review for it on Amazon. It can be two lines long. It can even—though I cringe while I write this—be a negative review (though why you’d want to put yourself through another one of my books is beyond me!). :)Mosey back over here and click on my contact page, or enter in this address: laurathalassa.author@gmail.com. In the body of the email, paste your review and the username you posted it under so that I can confirm your review for you.Once your review is confirmed, you’ll receive a reply from me with the .MOBI file of The Vanishing Girl. If your e-reader is not a Kindle, let me know what it is that you use, and I’ll send you the appropriate version.Otherwise, keep an eye out for The Vanishing Girl, which comes out on Saturday, March 1! I can’t wait to share this new series of mine with you!
Hugs and happy reading,Laura

The Vanishing Girl is Coming out March 1

In a little under two weeks, my NA science fiction novel, The Vanishing Girl , is coming out, so mark your calendars for March 1!

It’s the first book in a three book trilogy, and in case you’ve missed it, here’s the book’s description:

***

So what can you expect from my latest novel? Well, for one, lots of action. Being able to teleport is a dangerous skill for Ember and others like her. In addition, The Vanishing Girl is a new adult novel, which means that there’s more romance than in my other books! New adult is a genre for mature audiences, so keep that in mind before you decide to go out and purchase it. :)

I can’t wait to share Ember and Caden’s story with you. If you can’t wait either, then make sure to add The Vanishing Girl to your “To Read” list on Goodreads and make sure to join my mailing list (the sign up form is in the upper right hand corner)!

Hugs and happy reading,
Laura
