INK: Vanishing Point – Cover and Official Release Date
It took much longer than anticipated, but finally INK: Vanishing Point is seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. The cover is done, the blurb is written, the Goodreads page is set up now all I need to do is finish with the editing and formatting and upload. The official release date is February 14th, and it is definitely appropriate considering Shay takes Aiden’s heart in her hands – literally!
So here is the official cover:
INK: Vanishing Point is the widely anticipated second book in the INK series.
Shay Baynes is being put through her paces. She’s under the threat of multiple murder charges, is being stalked by one of her fans and she’s dealing with the loss of her home as well as the mystery of what happened to Aiden. Everyone in her life is candy-coating the truth and treating her like a child.
Shay makes the decision to go it on her own and get away from everyone smothering her only to find out that the murder charges are the least of her worries. Now she’s fighting to stay alive trying to get out of the cruel haunted playground the specter has created for her.
This book contains adult language and situations.
What others have to say about the INK Series:
WOW! just wow~ 5 Stars , This book was enthralling, This Author is going places.

It was dark and a little disturbing at times, but that’s what pulled me into the story and kept me hooked.

INK: Vanishing Point
Today I sent INK: Vanishing Point (Book 2 in the series) to the editor as well as two beta readers. I’m so very nervous about getting back notes from everyone. I will tell you this book is much darker than INK: Fine Lines and I although I enjoyed writing I made many mistakes causing me to be quite a bit late with the book.
I tried to change my process, which sadly slowed me down so much. For book 3 I’m going back to my old process and let’s see if I can meet my own personal deadline!
INK: Vanishing Point is a very emotional book and I’m really hoping that you guys all enjoy the continued adventures of Shay and her boys. Now that it’s with the editor and out of my hands for the time being I’ve started work on the cover. I’ve known exactly what I wanted to do and I think I may have actually achieved it but we’ll see. I’ve sent it off to an expert to see if they can make it better. I’m betting they can since I’m not really a cover designer. Now I have the task of getting all the rest of the admin stuff out of the way like getting an ISBN, getting it into the catalogs and the worst part of all writing the book blurb! Dear Lord save me from the blurb.
The tentative release date is presently set for January 31, but that will depend on everything falling into place. I really hope to get it to you guys by then and that you really like it!
I’m going to work on INK: Sketches getting part two completed and I’ve already started Book 3 in the series, which still doesn’t have a name. It hasn’t told me yet;).

Teaser from Vanishing Point
Here’s a tiny little snippet from INK: Vanishing Point (Book 2). This is from Eli’s POV:
The great room is filling with smoke, I know I should be trying to get out of the house. But my legs and mind won’t work. I don’t have the will to make them react.
“Elijah, I have what you want.” The Specter’s voice is agitated.
“What do I want?” My thoughts are hazy at best and this all feels like a dream.
His hand reaches for my face, I flinch at what he might do but he stops just short of touching. He places a lock of hair directly under my nose. I inhale the beautiful scent of gardenias. “Shay.”
“Yes, Shay. I have her. If you want her back you’ll give me what I want.” He snatches the hair back.
“What do you want?”
“I want Carl.” He pauses while we both watch Carl walk across the living room back toward the hallway. “Dead.”
Coming in December 2013 – INK: Vanishing Point the second book in the INK Series!

Sneak Peek From Vanishing Point
As promised here’s a little tidbit from Vanishing Point. This is unedited, so there could be some errors. Come on back to Facebook and tell me your thoughts?
Detective Glass
“Knock Knock.” The door to DA Preston’s office is open; I stand waiting for an invitation.
“What is it Glass?” Preston doesn’t look up from his computer. Prick.
“I just got an interesting e-mail from Tampa PD.” My fingers worry the edges of the sheaf of print outs. He needs to see this shit.
“Did you forward it? Or were you just that compelled to come down here to fuck up my day?” The smug bastard leans back in his chair finally acknowledging my existence.
“Fuck your day. Look at this.” He doesn’t invite me in so I walk in anyway and drop the pages from a dramatic height. It’s a lot of pages so they fall heavy on the desk weighted down by their number with a thud on impact.
He picks it up and starts looking through it, his face twists with the horror of it. Mine did, this is sick shit and the sooner we get her off the streets the better. She’s racking up a body count that rivals the plague.
“Jesus Christ.” Is all he can say as he starts shuffling through the photos.
“Yeah, I don’t think Jesus has anything to do with this.” I give him more time look everything over.
“You got this from Tampa PD?” Preston looks up at me from the paper trying to hide the look of horror on his face.
“Yeah.” He doesn’t need to know why they sent it, bottom line is they sent it and we’ve got her. She was there.
“There’s no DNA in this report, did they have any?” Preston takes the logical route, if he thinks I don’t see the picture of him and Harry Baynes on the wall he’s wrong. I know he’s too close to this to be objective. But is there anyone in this office that doesn’t know her, has changed her diaper as a baby or fucked her?
“Not yet, and we don’t have hers. That asshole Eddins made sure of that.” I pause for minute to see how objective he can be. “I want to bring her in; I want her to be processed so we can at least get some DNA.”
“Bring me something that I can bring her in on. I’ll do it in a heartbeat. If she’s the one responsible for this I’ll walk her to the electric chair myself.” He looks earnest, but he wavers on the last word. I could mistake it for bluster, but he’s really worried.
“Will you hold her hand while they shave her head?” See what he thinks of that.
Preston looks up at me; his eyes are full of fury. He inhales a steady breath for the seriousness of his words to ride out on, “Let’s get something clear. I want to nail whoever is committing these murders and if my own mother was a suspect I would put her through her paces until I was sure it wasn’t her.” He stands leaning his arms on the desk trying to create an ominous presence, “I’m doing my due diligence because I know her, I trust her and I also know her attorneys. Jason Eddins could get Hitler a get out of jail free card for Christ’s sake. We have to have a solid case; if we don’t Jason will bury us. I also want to know that if I’m flushing a life-long friendship down the toilet it’s because I really think she’s guilty.”
“Don’t you though?” This guy is a joke, everything points to her.
“Honestly I don’t. She’s been through a lot and I know the drawings are pretty damning but just like Eddins’ research team was able to ferret out it’s not PC for arrest or prosecution.” He sits back in his chair and steeples his fingers. “Bring me some real evidence, that connects her to the crime scenes or weapons that I can bring to a grand jury and I’m all for it.”
Let’s see what this asshole thinks of this, I maneuver the evidence bag from my pocket that holds a broken high heel encrusted with mud and blood. “How’s this for connecting her to the scene?”
He picks up the bag studying the contents. “What’s this?”
“CSU found it in the field next to the Messner’s house on their second sweep. Gary Messner’s blood’s on it.” Dispute that.
“Two problems with your ‘slipper theory,’ Glass.” He smirks. If he fucking says ‘Cinderella’ I swear I’ll taze him.
“How is this a problem? It links her to the crime scene. This was found in the field between their houses.” This guy really doesn’t want to nail her, I can feel it.
“First, where’s the foot prints at the scene. Second, Shay Baynes doesn’t wear high heels.” He throws the bag back towards me.
There is actually pain in my temples from this guy pissing me off. This is ridiculous, if this were Detroit this bitch would already be locked up, not out slaughtering more people. I try to keep my tone as low as possible, but my anger is raging out of control and my voice get’s louder with each word. “Preston, so far I count seven bodies, seven. All of them are connected to her. The Messners were her neighbors, Eli was boning Kristen Ringgold, all three of these kids in Tampa were at her comic signing and I know with the certainty that I’m standing here that she murdered Aiden Roth.”

Playing Catchup!
Oh my goodness, October was an amazing month! I quietly released INK: Sketches Part 1, participated in some amazing giveaways, gained about four hundred Facebook friends, went to my first book signing, was voted Author of the Month on the Fun and Fabulous Blog, Was accepted to The Stroke of Midnight Anthology and I know there was so much more. Just a month packed with goodness! So I’m going to recap some and then let you know what’s coming!
INK: Sketches Part 1
This novella is being written for folks that wanted a little more background about what happened leading up to the start of INK: Fine Lines. It opens with Elise’s funeral. It gives you some insight as to how Shay has changed over the past year and half. How she’s gone from the mousey go-with-the-flow girl to hell no! It may provide insight as to why she’s having so much trouble dealing with suddenly being under constant watch. You also get an idea of Shay’s relationships with Eli and Aiden prior to the start of book 1 and may clear up why she feels so comfortable falling back into a routine of ping pong with the boys. It’s more that she’s in a comfort zone going between them because it’s all she’s known.
When you purchase INK: Sketches on Amazon (or any other retailer with an update option) your file will be automatically updated when I include part 2.
All the giveaways
In the month of October I gave away more than 300 books! I really enjoy sharing my work with folks and I know that since my genre is a little weird with the amalgamation of elements some people may be confused. But I know for the most part when you give it a try you’re going to love it! At least that’s what the reviews are saying.
I am currently participating in some cool giveaways, as well as running my own. If I read 40 reviews by Sunday November 3, I’ll be giving away a $20 Amazon Gift Card to one of the reviewers!
This Redhead Loves Books Indie Mashup
Well I’m going to write a separate post for this one, but you have to know I had an absolute blast! I met so many wonderful authors and my favorite part was meeting some of my readers! Meeting Sara, Darci, Amery, Dee Ann and everyone was the hi-light of the weekend. Hopefully I’ve created some new readers!
Author of the Month on Fun and Fabulous
Okay seriously this was just amazing to me! I beat out Amanda Hocking and Stephen King for favorite horror author! I’m sure that had no idea they were up for the award otherwise they likely would have eaten me for breakfast, but my readers really came through for me and all I can say is that I’m the luckiest author ever to have such a great group of friends that care enough to take the time to vote!
If you want to take a look at the feature (which is pretty cool) you can see it here: http://fabulousandfun.com/october-author-of-the-month-bella-roccaforte/
The Stroke of Midnight Anthology
I am so honored to be chosen to be a part of this anthology! I’m about done with my short story. It is paranormal but it’s quite a departure from the INK series. I’m really excited to see what people think of it. I really do hope you like it. It is being released digitally at the end of December. When I have all the details and buy links I’ll post that info on FB and here.
What’s coming!
Vanishing Point – Book 2 in the INK Series
I’m working feverishly to finish INK: Vanishing Point book 2 in the series. The gang has taken me to some really amazing places, that I wasn’t expecting to go. You are going to meet some new characters that you will either love or love to hate. This is an Eli-heavy book so hold on to your pants ladies because he’s throwin’ down! We are also going to be feeling the absence of some characters (don’t worry it isn’t McNab). Starting Saturday, November 2 I’m going to be posting some sneak peeks from Vanishing Point. It’s not going to be easy considering there’s so much happening and I don’t want to give anything away.
My goal is for this book to be released by the beginning of December – lets see if I can do it – cheer me on I’m going to need it.
More Giveaways
I’m participating in some pretty cool giveaways this month, be sure to keep an eye out on my giveaway page to see what’s coming up. Be sure to also spend some time on my Facebook page, I love to give stuff away there!
New Adult Sleepover Weekend
In December I’ll be attending The New Adult Sleepover Weekend with some of my favorite authors. I’m really hoping I can keep the fangirling to a minimum! It’s going to be an absolute blast. I’ll be signing books and of course just hanging with everybody – which is one of my favorite things to do! Hopefully by then I’ll be working on Book 3 of the INK Series.
But please if you are in the Savannah, GA area or live close enough to drive there come and see me and some other amazing authors like Jessica Sorensen, Sarra Cannon, Molly McAdams, Rachel Harris, Tiffany King and so many more. Check out the event page http://newadultsleepover.blogspot.com/p/faq.html and COME SEE ME!!!
I’m sure there’s lots more happening, I just can’t keep up with it all! Thank God for Heidi Hudson, she does a pretty darn good job of keeping me straight – Love You Babe!!!
