10/25/12:

I am happy to report that things continue to move on as planned.  The final draft should be ready for a complete edit by mid November.  From that time it will be time to try my hand at kickstarter.com to try and give away some copies of the book!  After editing, the marketing push will continue through into the spring, and then it is release party time!  I am very excited and I find that the time I put aside for working on Dracula's Apprentice is one of my favorite parts of the day!  Make sure to check out the facebook page for some great quotes from the novel!

10/18/12

Finally feeling like myself today.  Was able to get a bunch written into the final draft and am so pleased with the results.  I am confident that with this weekend coming up I can get over 80% of the final draft completed.  It couldn't come at a better time either.  With basketball season starting at the end of the month, it is going to be hard pressed to write daily.  Still, this remains the priority.  The time schedule will be met, and we are still shooting for a spring 2013 release!

10/14/12

Despite being home sick, I have still been able to make some progress.  I have noticed something in my novel that needs fixing,  but I am going to wait until I am healthy to tackle that.  I am glad that I caught it early.  I am still on pace to complete everything on schedule, but I feel that when coaching season starts for basketball, my time may be fully monopolized.  The solution?  Get the final draft completed sooner then later.  No worries, it will get done, and it will be the highest quality.  I remain highly motivated to get my story out.

On a side note, I am hoping to get a little help from a co worker at the end of the week to improve this google site.  It is still not up to my standards visually.

Blog

10/7:  Getting a lot done over the last 2 days!  Chapter 4 is done along with chapter 8!  5, 6, and 7, will need a little bit of work done, not so much with content but with clarification of fact.  Shouldn't take too long to knock them out.  My focus this next week remains on writing, with a secondary objective of marketing ideas.

10/5:  Got some more work done on various chapters today.  Really looking forward to my block of writing time reserved for tomorrow.  Fully expect to get a good chunk of material finalized and ready for editing.  I have also been thinking hard about my next steps in marketing.  The blog helps and so does the facebook page but I really need to kick things into another level.

10/4:  Did some slight rewrites in chapter 3, and plan to have it fully completed by tomorrow.  Now that grades are turned in and we have a full week off I can really concentrate at knocking out a big chunk of this writing.  Expect big things these next 10 days!

10/2:  Amazing how much a 13 hour school day will drain the life out of you, no vampire pun intended.  Still, I have managed to fully complete chapter 2!  No more rewrites, just the editing.  I am looking to get that done professionally, so if you have any tips or leads, please let me know.  Writing this week will be tough since grade quarter is ending.  Still, the plan is to knock out something in my Dracula’s Apprentice to do list every day.  Chapters 2, consider yourself knocked out.

10/1:  To stay on target, I am starting my first ever blog to just recap what I am continually doing to get this novel off the ground.  Until I get time to figure out Google sites, I am just going to lay it down right here.
The face book page is up and running.   I am hoping to get a lot of followers to help build up hype for the novel.  I am hoping to post a character quote every now and again and as things start to get moving, the face book page will be one of my main sources to get you information.
I also completely finished chapter 1.  No more drafts, no more rewrites.  It just needs editing, but that is a plan for later, once all chapters are 100% completed.
Chapters 2 and 3 should rap up quickly as well.  More to come later and thanks for tuning in.
