50 Years ago - 2001: A Space Odyssey

50 years ago today, a masterpiece was introduced in movie theaters across the US. 50 years ago today 2001: A Space Odyssey premiered in theaters. I remember seeing it in the theater while is grade school, much too young to comprehend the movie but it made a lasting impression and was my leap from comic book Sci-Fi to books and movies where Sci-Fi was the means to tell a more complex and stimulating story.

I watched it again recently, and found that neither time, societal changes or technological advances have diminished the mystique and power of the movie.

What has changed is that I think I finally understand the movie.
