New Look for The Girl With Nine Lives!

Oh my goodness!

Well, the sequel to The Girl With Nine Lives is complete! Very excited to show it to you all.

Wanted to let you all now that I have an official designer now who is working to rebrand my work. Christopher Lynn is an excellent designer from London, and a very wonderful friend. When he showed me the new cover for The Girl With Nine Lives, I was completely blown away.

I hope you are too!

Now work is going underway to design the new cover for the next instalment!

It must be a sign, because I had a dream about Ben last night. He did have human eyebrows, which made it stranger, but he came with me onto a boat and was guiding me down a river. I'm sure a therapist would have more to say about it, but there it does!

I hope you have all had a lovely week, I've literally been trying my best to stay focused. My boyfriend has started playing squash and has reminded me that maybe I should pick up my hula hooping again. Having the summer off from work is nice because I get to focus on my writing, but any other writer will understand that sitting in a chair non stop will have an effect on your tummy!

So as I'm typing, I'm looking bitterly at my trainers and wondering whether I should go for a run or not. I probably wont, but hula hooping is as fun as working out can get.

If you haven't already read The Girl With Nine Lives, it is still available on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Lives-Adventures-Benedict-Blackwell-ebook/dp/B00DACVG2G/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1376415956&sr=1-1&keywords=the+girl+with+nine+lives

And here is the new look!

I want to also add- I just did hula hooping for 30 seconds and already I have a stitch. FAIL!

Working hard or hardly working?

I've been a bit of a recluse recently.

I've been desperately trying to get the sequel of The Girl With Nine Lives finished, and now the fun stuff is just round the corner I'm having trouble concentrating. There's shiny things to see! Eyebrows to pluck, fake tan to be applied, the washing needs doing, I should do my work out, maybe I should read the news- anything to get out of writing. My laptop sits at my desk next to the window waiting for me to get on with it.

But now I'm close to the finish line and I'm getting more excited. The book covers are coming, promotion is organised, and a whole set of wonderful readers are asking for the next instalment.

It's also my birthday this weekend and I'm finding it difficult not peruse through the online shopping pages instead of staying focused!

I return to work at the college the end of August and I'm nervous as well as excited! A whole new class of English students to teach, and a whole year's worth of experience under my belt to put into use. I absolutely love education and I am so in awe of people that pursue it. I wish sometimes that I could go back and redo my GCSEs, but what's done is done. I left school with 5 C's and above and I was really proud of myself. Our school wasn't the best- in fact it was one of the roughest in my town. Memories of having my bag thrown up in a tree, teachers crying and being locked in cupboards are just some of the memories that I link to the words, "Alderman Smith".

But I am not ashamed where I came from. At that school you didn't learn much in the sense of education, but you learnt survival skills. My fella did very well in school and I blushed hearing of his accomplishments and then repeating my own. I then reminded myself that I shouldn't be embarrassed- I went to University, completed my Degree, returned (to be unemployed for some time) but I bounced back and now I teach English and have two published books under my belt.

It's important having someone to support you as you work to pursue your dreams and endeavours. My writing is just that. I'm lucky enough to have the love and support from someone who I respect and adore. And true, his way of support is a grunted, "well done" or a strict, "do your word count", but it's what I need. It makes me determined to make him jump up one day and run down to Waterstones to buy my latest book. It makes me work hard, always striving and pushing and improving.

Which reminds me... I should probably get on with this word count....

Happy Friday!

Good morning all!

Happy Friday to the lot of you. For those who are
breathing a sigh of relief for the weekend- I share your excitement. BBQ's and
bikinis are awaiting with sunscreen and cider, so enjoy it!

Well, lots of exciting things are coming up in the works
and I can't wait to reveal them to you! A new release is due next month and I'm
SO EXCITED!

It means however that I have to be even more disciplined
and stop getting so distracted by shiny things.

Some of you may know that I work in education when I'm
not writing. But now as it's the summer holidays, I can focus on my writing!
Which means more books for you lot!

I have also enlisted the talents of a wonderful designer
who will be rebranding the E. Earle books, so expect some amazing book covers
in the future.

My week so far has consisted of trying to get my
backside into gear by writing at least 1000 words. I am going to try and up it
up to 2000 words a day to get this book finally finished! Last weekend I went
to Shropshire with my fella to spend time with his family. We went hiking,
played Frisbee and ate our weight in meat! We were exhausted when we came back,
but it highlighted how important it was to keep fit. So what did I do? I bought
a hula hoop! I hula hooped a lot a couple of years ago and I was in the best
shape. Alas, contentment, a nice new flat and the discovery of, yes, I like
rosé wine has taken its toll and it's about time I stopped being so lazy!

Talking of laziness, I best get this wordcount done and then crack on with the hula hoop!

Looking forward to showing you all what's coming up in
the future.

Keep your eyes peeled for the sequel of The Girl With
Nine Lives...

Newly released- The Girl With Nine Lives

Hi guys!

Just to let you know, I have had another book published. Created due to the recent 30 Hour Novel Competition, The Girl With Nine Lives was created purely in deepest recesses of my desperate mind.

It came out in a release of secrets, unknown feelings and a storyline that surprised even me.

Here's a review:

This is a fantastic read and I really can't recommend this highly
enough!
It's heartwarming, sincere and will have you welling up, reaching for
the tissues one minute and chocking on your prawn crackers through laughing so
hard the next!
Although not my usual genre of choice I just couldn't put this
book down... Picture the scene, 11 o'clock on a Sunday night, under the duvet
with a torch... (And prawn crackers) That's how thoroughly entertaining, funny,
emotional and gripping this book is!

A. Must. Read.

Five out of
five!

And here's the blurb!

The 30 Hour Novel

I think I have recovered. I haven’t wrote about The 30 Hour Novel
experience simply because my fingers and mind need time to heal.

The 30
Hour Novel contest, hosted by The Kernel Mag, was one of the most inspiring,
challenging, and soul crushing experience I have had to take as a writer so
far. For those of you who don't know what The 30 Hour Novel Contest is, Kernal Mag challenged the world to write a novel in no more than 30 hours over the weekend. The submissions were to be uploaded online and voted for by the public. The winner would be published by none other than Harper Collins.

I wrote my first attempt of a novel when I was 12. I posted
it to Harper Collins and waited for weeks, convinced I was going to get
published and excitedly checking the post box every day. I was sure that my
included scribbled illustrations were going to cut the deal. But when the kind
refusal  came, my hopes weren’t dashed.

It made
me even more determined. So another 12 years on, The 30 Hour Novel Challenge by Kernal was something I knew I had to do.

It
forced me to fully surrender myself to the spinning storylines in my head,
trust in the sentences that poured from my fingertips and follow the plot to
whatever depths it wanted to drag me.

And you
know what? I miss it. I miss the characters. The place I was taken to. The
feeling of utter determination, desperation, grief and triumph.

I dehumanised
myself that day. I didn’t wash. I didn’t eat. I didn’t move from that
godforsaken chair all day and all night. It was a day of fun for my boyfriend.
The football went on, Match of the Day recordings, the pub was visited, a great
night with the lads was had and beer came and went. Me? The only time I graced
my body with a new set of clothing was with a clean pair of pyjamas.

I didn’t
want to plan. I didn’t want to force anything. I wanted every word to pour out
of me as naturally as the colour of my roots.

It started with a cat…

                                                                        …
and then I was obsessed. I dredged up my deepest subconscious and set rip
something in me that I had been trying hard to overcome. Grief. It poured out
of me over a simple description of a cardigan. Describing that person’s face,
immortalising them with each vowel and consonant stamped down with my
fingertips. I was there with them. I could hear them. And for a second, I
forgot.

I was
exhausted the next day at work. My students (I work as a Teaching Assistant)
were excited, asking me how it was, and all questions were met with a glassy
eyed stare.

How was
it?

How was
it?

How was
it?

How can
I describe an experience that brought back to life so many aspects of my life
that I had kept down? How could I describe a day that I became lost in another
world, created characters, befriended these people- these parts of myself? How
could I simply describe the weekend that plunged me into a world of
desperation, discipline, stale pizza and a numb bum?

I’ll
tell you.

I made the
speechless speak. I brought breath back to the dead. I lived out experiences I
would never dare to do. I acted out ambitions that I could never hope to
achieve without being arrested. I immortalised words from loved ones gone, made
peace with others and dealt out the karma to characters inspired by life.

I submitted my work of 33,000 words with 15 minutes to spare. Novels will be uploaded on the 25th of Feb, so I'll be keeping you all updated on my work, The Girl With Nine Lives.

So how was
it?

It felt like Frodo destroying the ring.

Bloody worth it.

E. EARLE GOES BACK TO SCHOOL...

Hey guys, just so you know, Tartarus is now available to buy for £8.99 on Amazon!

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tartarus-1-Miss-E-Earle/dp/1479218596/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1358759544&sr=8-3

It's a revised version with a new cover, and I am very happy with the product overall. Will be getting my first copy through the post any day now!

Also, I have a meeting with the very school where it all started. I'm talking about Alderman Smith, Secondary School, now known as Nuneaton Academy.

I will hopefully be embarking some students onto a specially designed Creative Writing Course for aspiring writers. I want to encourage them in their studies and maybe even inspire them. I want to show them a way to escape everyday life and enfuse their energy into a constructive way, and most of all, to believe in their own abilities.

SUPPORT YOUR FELLOW WRITER!

Hey guys, if you have a moment, have a look at my facebook page for Tartarus. It's fledgling, but it'd mean a lot if you could check it out and simply "like" or "share".

http://www.facebook.com/earletartarus

Being an author isn't easy, so I need the support from all of you to try and make it happen!

Good things are happening, and I'm in the process of getting another book published. Mainly because I've decided to find myself an agent. It's true that agents are fantastic with giving support, advice and the benefit of their well earned experience, so it's something I'm craving at the moment. But I think it's good for an author to get something done on their own back and do their own promotion to understand the business.

If any of you are an aspiring writer and wish for any advice or simply encouragement, I'd be very happy to help you out :)
