Review

Tori Kelly’s Hiding Place is rich with soul, vulnerability and truth. Her heart, lyrics and voice touch to the deepest parts, whether she’s hitting the highest notes or riding the lowest pitches. Clearly intentional and delicate about her theme, it is obvious Kelly aimed to inspire faith, hope, and love for the darkest of times with her story, as she boldly tells about the goodness and faithfulness of God in leading her through her toughest times and supplying her joy, strength, and love for God, herself, and others when she needed it the most.

Kelly may have aimed to bless and inspire, but it’s simply impossible not to be entertained by Hiding Place, as each unique song touches on something that resonates on a personal level with most living souls.

Review

The Outcome begins joyfully, inspiring a heart of worship and dance to God. The lyrics don’t hold back, reminding the believer of Who God is—His faithfulness and goodness! The instrumentals collide with the lyrics to create magnificent music of praise to the one true God. The Outcome album promises an indisputable message of faith, hope, and love—the kind that is joyous and unshakable—because it is found alone in God.

The Outcome song (#3 & #4) summarizes the entire theme of the album beautifully. A powerful song of worship and victory that presents dauntless faith, fiery hope, and courageous love for God and people that preaches the truth and power of God’s glorious splendor, which overcomes the darkness and breaks every chain and sets free. In it is a message of the pathway to healing for every kind of brokenness, stronghold, and bondage through worship.

The Outcome album is good music to soak your soul in as you pray, worship, work, go through the day, and can even be played softly as you sleep.

An all-round-themed album that touches on the various aspects of life and faith in an elegant and eclectic fashion with deep lyrics and mind-blowing music. This breath of fresh air neatly weaves the original classic elements of traditional funky pop, jazz, and rock with a twist of urban flavor to birth something entirely and delightfully new and spontaneous.

Review

This pure rock release is a breath of fresh air as Zahna doesn’t hold back in expressing her passion for God and her zeal for a relationship with Him. She lets out a vulnerability through the lyrics that is rarely seen, and the instrumentals match melody and lyrics in perfection.

For a hint of Zahna’s style of music, think Barlow Girl meets Jesus Culture + Unique Zahna!

Review

A solemn, thought-provoking, but overall, hope-inspiring story that centers on the relationship between God and man and how this affects life on earth generally, as well as how it applies to individual living. An Interview With God presents a scenario where the all-knowing God seeks to help man dig deep into the questions of life that matter the most, but are rarely asked because of fear or negligence. Paul (Brendon Thwaites), the journalist, confronts God (David Straithairn) at first, with mockery questions, and subsequently, accusations, which God wisely points out the sources from which each unique issue arises. Interestingly, this story is not cliché at all, as it approaches the man-meets-God scenario with finesse and a unique twist that presents an altogether faith-inspiring message that is timeless.

A well-rounded story!

Book Review ~ The Daily Question Journal For You & Your Child: A Three-Year Spiritual Journal By Waterbrook Multnomah

[image error]About the Book

A fun, thought-provoking 365-question guided journal and keepsake that sparks daily interaction with your child to create a memory book capturing your child’s life, personality, and faith journey.

This interactive prompted journal allows a parent to create a keepsake of three years of their child’s life. By answering each of the 365 questions together on the same date each year, readers will get a unique and precious picture into their child’s feelings, development, and personality. Some of the questions focus on spirituality and the child’s heart, while some are meant to capture their creativity, spirit, and sense of humor. All questions spark conversations and memories that span well beyond the pages of this book.

Review

The brightly colored Daily Questions For You And Your Child journal invites the parent and the child into a safely guided place of brilliantly-paced questions that ignite conversations which inspire growth in the child, delight in the parent, as well as a beautifully-groomed relationship that could only get better with time, as seen in the provision for a three-year plan, as well as the available slot on the front cover for a parent-child photo, indicating a beautiful beginning.

For parents having difficulties navigating conversations with their little ones, this is an excellent starter in that direction, as it leads the child to better open up—because of the delicate topics that interest them—and the parent to become a better listener as they learn and gain peeks into the development of their child’s heart and mind, even persuading a healthy respect and understanding of their child’s growing personality.

A timely, neatly, and delicately put together journal that binds the parent and child in the early stages—suitable for such a noisy time as this, which tends to pull children away from their parents in their later years.

Review

This softly worshipful but powerful praise & worship shows a heart that displays gratitude and satisfaction toward God with the finest of music, lyrics, and passionate voices. There’s a maturity to the tone of the music that reflects the truth that Tomlin has been doing this for a while; but this is also beyond fine-tuned skill; this is a person that has grown in their relationship with God. It is seen in the genuineness of his heart throughout the EP. It can’t be explained. Only heard and perceived.

For an album that could easily lead you into a mode of worship, pick up Tomlin’s Nobody Loves Me Like You Do.

Review

Tyler Russell’s Now or Never can be easily described as reverberating, catchy, and fun. While it isn’t particularly Christian, it carries an inspirational theme of love and celebration of life that is clearly birthed from a place of faith, reminding the listener of how precious the gift of life is. The anthem-like Now or Never echoes a heart that celebrates romantic love, the gratitude of living in the moment and enjoying every bit of it…just as God would have us do!

Release Date

August 10, 2018.

Review

CASS’s White Noise is a love song of appeal to God, showing the singer’s passion, zeal, and need for a relationship with God as their lover. This is what it means for Jesus to be the Groom, and us, the Bride, an aspect of the Christian faith not emphasized enough. White Noise shows the earnest pursuit of love and intimacy with God, which is a desperately needed message in music today.
