Podcast: Business Owners, Let’s Talk About Racism

Possums,
Let’s talk Anti-Racism in your business:
Your customers are looking to see where you stand on Anti-Racism
Black Lives Matter is not a political issue. It is a HUMAN RIGHTS ISSUE
Talking about it is not enough. Education, donating and committing to dismantling white supremacy is a must.
If you say or do something wrong, apologise and commit to not doing it again
Living outside the US does not exempt you
I am NOT an expert on Anti-Racism. I’ve fucked up before and I am so sorry for the hurt I caused.
This is not a passing phase. We need to do the long-term work to make our businesses socially conscious.
For further reading and the most useful Anti-Racist resources I’ve used, head HERE.

Interview with The Becoming Podcast

Treasures!
Another podcast interview with moi has just gone live!
I had the glorious opportunity to chat with Jessie Harold (author, women’s coach, mentor and doula) on her pod: The Becoming Podcast!
Jessie’s description says it best:
“My conversation with artist, mama and wildly successful entrepreneur Leonie Dawson was so delightful and rich. Leonie shared some of her story of becoming a mother, about how our relationships change when we change, and about creativity as a way to process radical transformation in your life. Leonie is the creator of a bestselling series of planners and goal books for women, and so we talked about the role of goals in facilitating change, as well as self-care and the power of women’s circles.”

WARNING FROM MY MONEY ADVISOR

Dearests,
New podcast episode for you! A stark warning from my money mentor & how to future-proof your finances. Just a short one for you today (under 5 minutes)… but important.
How to listen
Listen below, or subscribe via Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Overcast, PocketCast (or wherever else you listen to podcasts!)
Transcript
I read an article today from my favourite money advisor. You probably already know Scotty Pape – I recommend his book “Barefoot Investor” all the damn time. He’s no bullshit, gives bonza advice, and is usually right on the money.
And today, his article was pretty worrying:
He reckons we’ve got about three more months before a global recession strikes post-pandemic. Currently, we’re being plumped up by government relief packages and early super draws. Come September though when all the relief packages end, and he predicts mass business closures & unemployment. In his words: “the deepest recession in living memory.”
I hope he’s wrong, but I don’t think he is, sadly.
I feel like it’s my responsibility to alert you to this.
And use the coming months to prepare yourself & get your money sorted.
Some ideas to get you started:
Create new income streams for yourself – every bit will count. The work you do now will pay off.
Consider online income sources so you can serve people across the global marketplaces. Online also helps incase we need to do another lockdown for a second wave of infections.
Plant a garden. Even if you have just a kitchen window or an apartment balcony. Look for food that grows quickly and cheapy. Think about how you can plan for food security.
Reduce expenses.
Sell extra shit off and keep it in a savings account for a monsoony day.
Get debt paid off (like credit cards).
Invest in your education to learn new skills & succeed in a new economy.
Remember: our ancestors have survived all kinds of global transformation – they have persevered & they innovated. You are strong and powerful. You can do the same.
And if you need help, my courses on money, selling e-courses and writing books are there for you.
Big love,
Leonie
xoxo
P.S. Get out a piece of paper now and write down what you need to do now to survive & thrive through the coming 12 months.
You’ve got this.
I’m cheerleading you.

Intersectional Resources – Gender, Sexuality, Trans, Mental Health & Disability Rights

Treasures,
I’ve been adding to a recommended reading list for Anti-Racist resources for a couple of years, and realised I didn’t have a comprehensive one for gender, sexuality, mental health & disability as well… they are spread out over my yearly best books lists, but need a resource post all of their own.
Here’s some excellent books I’ve read & learning resources that have been hugely helpful for me to understand gender, sexuality, trans & disability rights.

Podcast: 10 Productivity Hacks That Helped Me Create $10 Million in 10 Hours a Week

OK, miniature pizza dudes and dudettes…
FIRST! A STORY! Most of you know, I used to work in the Australian Government public service, possibly one of the most beige of all office environments. But did I let it dim my sparkle? I DID NOT. Did I let it tame me? I DID NOT.
I embarked upon a series of missions to inject glitter deep into the belly of the beast, including, but not limited to: setting up impromptu massage salons in the elevators, giving angel card readings at my desk, holding a hugging competition and hugging 300 people in one day AND deciding to answer all my phone calls like I was stuck in the 80s. So EVERYBODY got called “miniature pizza dudes and dudettes” on the regular.
It was bloody fun. Plus, it funded my lifestyle & evening forays into the world of online business. Thanks, Australian Government, for the LOLZ and the mates and the seed funding.
ANYWAYS. That was all just to explain my new rad 80s greeting for you all.
And to alert you to the fact of NEW PODCAST EPISODE. NEW PODCAST EPISODE. It’s a bloody good one, even if I do say so myself, and I DO.
It’s a new podcast episode alllllll about productivity… specifically the 10 productivity hacks that I’ve used again and again to be able to create $10 million in 10 hours a week. Fuck I looooove when numbers line up like that! 10/10/10!
Explicit AF
Just to reiterate: this is one sweary motherfucker of a podcast. So if you listen to it around kids… they will defo learn some new vocabulary from Aunty Leonie. MWHAHAHAHA. ENJOYYYYY!
