Aaron & Matt (Better Than Good) Valentine Idea

I wrote a short story (15K words) about Valentine’s Day featuring Aaron and Matt from Better Than Good. It gives a glimpse into their first year as a couple and Matt’s coming out to his family. Personally, I like detail and had I been writing a full length novel, the scenes would have been more fleshed out to capture the intensity and significance of Matt’s struggle. However, I’m a reader first and when my readers tell me they want more…I feel the author in me should share what I’ve already written. It hasn’t been properly edited, but hey…it’s free! And as with most of my stories, it is NSFW. Sorry, I like sex. Especially in my books!

My thought is to post a portion of the story everyday leading up to Valentine’s Day beginning with a post this afternoon. Thoughts?

Better Than Chance Has Had a Brilliant Coming Out Week!

I have been humbled by the fantastic comments and feedback from readers who adored Matt & Aaron and are willing to take a "chance" on Jay & Peter (sorry...I know that was awful, but I couldn't resist!). I hope you enjoy the second book in the Better Than series. And yes to those who have asked...the third book is scheduled to be released in late spring. I'm considering offering a few online shorts I've written featuring Matt & Aaron. Anyone interested?

1 Day till Better Than Chance is Out!

One more day! If you're snowed in on the East Coast (like my boys in DC) or enjoying the sunshine and summer-like weather on the West Coast (it is ridiculously beautiful in California...sorry guys), it's always a good day to pick up a new book!

1 Week Till Better Than Chance is Released!

One week till Jan. 22nd. It’s too long to wait! I’m a relative newbie but technically I should be 100% better prepared for this release than I was for Better Than Good. The truth is I don’t know what to expect and uncertainty is tough for me. I’m a planner. I like organization. But I’m artistic enough to know the best things occur when you don’t plan for them. So I’ll keep busy, try not to stress about things I have absolutely no control over… and just enjoy the ride.

This is Peter and Jay’s story and even if I have to say so myself, they are fabulous. Jay is fun, friendly and outgoing. Peter is reserved, serious and Jay’s boss. Rainbow Award Finalist! (& Placer!)

I placed! Woohoo!! I’m beyond thrilled!! I know, I know… I should save the excitement for an actual win, but you know what? I really was excited to make it as a Finalist back in October. 6th place as a debut author and 10th in the Gay Contemporary Romance category! Wow! I’m a brand new author. Better Than Good was my first foray into a genre I love and the response to my first effort in a public forum has been well… better than good (sorry, I couldn’t resist).

Because this really is one of those “it’s my blog” moments, I’m going to take a second to thank the Academy and… oh wait. Fine, but I do want to thank Elisa, the woman responsible for the award itself and I want to thank my publisher, Dreamspinner Press for taking a chance on a new artist… not once, but actually three times. (Yes, there are two new novels in the Better Than series due out in 2014! Better Than Chance (Peter and Jay’s story) will be released in January.)

But most of all, thank you to the readers who have given me an unbelievable welcome and a ton of support! Nothing compares to knowing I have an appreciative audience. So thank you for your ongoing encouragement in my new venture. I’m so happy you loved Aaron and Matt as much as I do!
