Dicken's Festival at Kentucky Renaissance Faire

Me and my muff at the Dicken's Festival at Kentucky Renaissance Faire

We had dinner - so delicious!!  Chicken and Dumplings, dressing, green beans and crabby sauce.  Dessert was pumpkin pie shooters!

After the wonderful meal, they begin the Christmas Carol  Different players this year than last, different leads, but they were at top form and the presentation was awesome!

Sadly, rain came in and we had to depart.  My knees just will not take a long drive in the rain.
But we had a wonderful time!!

And we got our Seasons Tickets to the coming Renfaire Season!!

Day 3 of my Holiday blessings -- Monika Wolmarans

Day #3 (sorry I missed yesterday with being out with Candy for her Holiday bazaar)Today I say thank you for my dear friend Monika Wolmarans. We have been friends for nearly 17 years, since the MSN Groups days. At that time people wondered if the groups -- and the friendships made through them could last. Well, MSN groups went away. Still miss them. But the friendship with Monika has stayed true and strong. While distance separates use, I have never felt very far from there. We both and been through a LOT during those years, but we have always been there for each other.I cannot thank her enough for being there, for being a part of my life.

Blessings for the season - Day #2 - Prairie Rose Publications

Blessing Day #2 -- for the wonderful editors/owner of Prairie Rose Publications Cheryl Moss Pierson and Livia Washburn Reasoner.
Commercial writing can be a dream come true, but the fast pace of Trad Publishing can often suck the joy out of the creative process.  I cannot think Cheryl enough when she came and asked if I would like to write for PRP.  No, I would not LIKE to write for PRP -- I would and do LOVE writing for them.  Every step of the way they are first class and so supportive of what I do.
 I cannot thank them enough!!!

Season of Blessings - Day 1

The holiday season looms darkly this year, with a not a lot of peace on earth or goodwill toward man...and woman.

So I am going to celebrate the Holiday season -- a season for all, not just Christmas. I am going to celebrate the things I have to be thankful for. Each day I will pick something that makes my life a little better, or improved my world somehow. Sometimes, we have to look at the small things to see the light at the end of the tunnel of hope. -- At least, that's my story and I sticking to it...lol.

Today -- I will say thank you for Diane Candy Thompson. She came here six years ago to be near me. She had lost her sister, lost her health and was in desperate need of a safe place, a warm place to live her life. She was in a wheelchair, depressed from losing her beloved sister, Dawn, and one of the souls in danger of being lost to the system too cold to help.

With the help of a friend, Rowena Cherry, I brought Candy here. It's not been easy. She wasn't here a year, when she nearly died of heart failure. With guidance of a good heart doctor, we started her on the steps of recovery. She went from being in a wheelchair, to walking 7 miles a day until my knee problems. She broke her back, and yet she came back from that. She is a fighter, in her own Susie Sunshine way.
She helped me more than I helped her, I think. My health improved. When my husband suffered many numerous health issues, she was there to bring me a smile. In helping her, I helped me. We have had adventures, some I could only have dreamt of before her coming. I couldn't ask for a better friend. I am just sorry Dawn isn't here to join in the fun.
I bless the night was I saw a chauffeur driven car parked outside my drive and a little white head in the back seat.
So, Candy, you are my December 1 blessing. Thank you, many times over.
