"Excellent alternate history saga woven through with historical characters and plausible scenarios. Stuart can certainly write well as he weaves a common theme through this historical trilogy (with a marvellous fourth book loaded with short stories and scenarios he couldn't work into his main three books) following a half century of service, intrigue, betrayals, obsessions, strategies, wins and losses. He primarily follows one family through it all; it is fascinating and unlike anything I've ever read. It certainly turns history upside down. Stuart develops characters exceedingly well, and makes you love, hate, admire or fear them. It was what I call a really fun read (admittedly, it helps to have a basic knowledge of our history so that one can see the "divergences", understand and delight in them).

Set in France -an Alternative History Novel

My blog has been receiving a significant volume of traffic from readers in France. Perhaps that is because the majority of my alternative history novel - FOR THE GOOD OF THE CONFEDERACY is set in France post 1900. This novel takes place in France after a war between France and Britain has been fought, with France now divided by a wall, dividing the British occupied west and the eastern portion controlled by the French - German alliance.

Confederate Knights- Rebel Empire Book 4 - 1st draft completed

Well I took a big sigh this morning as I typed the words "THE END" on the last page of my latest novel-  Confederate Knights- Rebel Empire Book 4 .

This will be the final book in this series and it gives me the golden opportunity to re-visit some of the great characters from the first 3 books.

Due to the turmoil of a house move last year I blew my deadline several times for this book. I now know how George R. R. Martin feels, but without the huge royalties check.

Now comes the tedious part, the re-writes, proof reading, spell check and general editing etc, etc. My publication goal is Sept 30, 2016
