Release Day Book Blast: Collared For A Night by Susan Arden

Joining me today is Susan Arden who is sharing her new release:  Collared for a Night.

Blurb
All it takes is one mistake to be marked. One bite, she crosses a line...into forever. Diana Hambre's body is blazing. For days this leopardess shifter has spun through a body-searing heat cycle. Alone. Her senses reel when Shawn Barclay, her boss, walks into her reserved room at the Downtown Den, a stud club for shifters. He gives Diana a choice: spend the evening with him, give into his every desire, and she'll find out what it means to quench her heat-crazed thirst—or try her luck with a stranger, one of the club bangers.

Shawn hates when his back is against the wall. One sip of Diana’s pheromone-laced scent is enough to force his alpha hand. The tables have turned and it's Diana's back he wants up against a wall or any other surface for that matter.

As the moon rises toward midnight, Shawn and Diana come to understand the difference between sex and bonding. For a night, neither of them resist their primal instincts, blindly giving into carnal desire. Her wild nature fights being subdued and she risks spontaneously shifting without warning.

Now, bearing Shawn's bite marks, she can’t simply walk away from him; not when he has the means to teach her to harness her leopardess nature. Shawn accepts the challenge of training Diana to control her untamed cravings. Employing every method available in and out of the bedroom, he discovers he's on the verge of ensnaring himself in the process.

Warning: Erotic scenes hot enough to peel paint

Snippet Sunday #2

I'm back this week with another snippet from my latest Paranormal Romance release, The Keepers: Archer.   Sienna's on the run from her magical powers and the three Keepers destined to protect her ... but one of her Keepers, Archer, has caught up to her.  Excerpt  “Don’t ever look for me again, Archer.”
His jaw flexed, and he clenched each fist. Slowly, he pinned her with a heated glare.  “I will find you, Sienna.  Don’t fool yourself.”
With a shaky smile, she backtracked away from him.  “You’re the fool for thinking you could broomstick me back home.”
She turned away, needing to flee before he saw the crack in her powers as her body wasn’t yet strong enough to maintain them.
And the fear of losing control always lingered.
“Sienna.”  The change in his tone had her glancing back at him over her shoulder.  His eyes narrowed and his mouth curled into a small smile.  “Game on.”  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For more wonderful snippets by some amazing authors, have a look at our Snippet Sunday Facebook Group! Thanks for stopping by!

Tasty Summer Reads Blog Hop

I've been invited by the lovely Angela Campbell to take part in the Tasty Summer Reads Blog Hop with my current release The Keepers: Archer.

The great thing about this blog hop is that not only will the participating authors be answering some interesting questions and discussing their current releases or WIP, they will also be sharing some of their favorite tasty recipes.

HOP QUESTIONS

1.  When writing are you a snacker?  If so, sweet or salty?

I’m more prone to raiding the cupboard later in the day for something sweet to go with my afternoon cup of coffee.  The rest of the time when I write, it’s mostly water on my desk.  I never eat whilst writing but often nibble when editing/re-reading what I’ve written.  That always seems to call for a cup of tea or coffee, and maybe something nice to snack on.  Chocolates are my ultimate weakness.

2.  Are you an outliner or someone who flies by the seat of their pants?  Are they real pants or jammies?

I'm a mixture between the two.  I always outline my story, highlight the major plot points, characters, etc. but once I start writing, the characters seem to drive the story, often taking the plot to places I hadn't considered.  I love my jammies at night time but in order to get my creative spark functioning in the morning, I need a shower and coffee!  Love my slippers though!

3.  When cooking or baking, do you follow the recipe exactly or wing it?

I follow the recipe as much as possible but I've been known to eliminate or add certain things depending on my mood.  I love cooking and baking and love to enjoy the product of that afterwards, but hate the mess that comes with it!

4.  What is next for you after this book?

The first book in the trilogy, Archer, has just been released.  I'm currently underway with book two of the series, Declan.  The trilogy is about three sexy brothers, three Keepers, who are duty bound to protect the same witch.  Although there is an underlying story carried throughout the series, each brother has his own story to tell.

5.  Last Question ... on a level of one being slightly naughty to ten being whoo whoo steamy, where does your book land?

Definitely steamy.  Sienna and Archer are hot together and have an undeniable chemistry which has been lots of fun to work with.

So, here's my recipe!

Considering my recipe offering should be a summer one, I've decided to share a firm favorite:  Homemade Hot Chocolate Sauce to go with some ice cream.  So simple to make but so delicious.  And although this doesn't appear in the first book, Archer, I'm having several visions of how it can be used on in Declan.  We'll see!

Image courtesy of FreeDigitalPhotos.netHot Chocolate Sauce

1 cup Sugar
½ cup Water
3 tablespoons Cocoa
A pinch of Cream of Tartar
Boil together in a pot for five minutes, stirring often.  Take off heat and stir in the following:
½ tablespoon Butter
½ teaspoon Vanilla Essence
A pinch of salt
Add to your favorite ice cream.

Voila!  It really is yummy so give it a try!

Snippet Sunday - The Keepers: Archer

“Don’t ever look for me again, Archer.”
His mouth curled into a smile. “Game on.”

Central Park. Sienna Beckham is out jogging in the autumn sun, feeling almost ordinary. Trouble is, she'll never be. She's on the run from her life as a powerful witch and the three Keepers blood-bound to protect her.

Evil is hot on Sienna's tail and Archer Bennett is searching for her, desperate to find her before they do. As one of her Keepers, he will fight to his death to defend her.

Sienna must return and defend her hometown, Rapid Falls – but she has to face the past and master her powers. And as forbidden feelings blossom between Sienna and Archer, will their love survive the ultimate war?

The Keepers: three strong and handsome warrior brothers, born to protect.

Excerpt
Sienna put a hand on Archer’s arm.  “I’m going to find Warrick and get him to talk to me so we can go home.”    Archer responded by sliding both hands behind her lower back and pulling her tighter against him so that her body was flush against his.  She gasped at the sudden close contact and the intensity of his grip on her and tried to pull back to see his expression.   “Just a minute more,” he whispered in her ear, keeping her in place as they swayed to the music.  Her body shivered in response, his breathy words scattering her thoughts in an instant.    “Careful, Archer, any closer and people will start thinking I’m your woman.”   “You are my woman.”    She’d meant to tease him, to ease the sudden possessive grip he had on her, but when his mouth edged towards hers, the gentle scrape of his lips against her skin and his whispered words ripped a soft shudder through her.   “No.”   “Not yet.  In time, you will be.”   She smiled against him.  “Confident tonight, are you?”   “I call it like I see it.”  His fingers toyed with the seam of her dress at her lower back, and his lips hovered dangerously close to hers.    “You know we can’t.”    “I’m not in the mood to please The Circle right now and besides, some of the best things in life are the things that are forbidden.”   “What are we, Adam and Eve?”   His face softened in a breathtaking grin and in a gentle movement, he released her, twirled her around, and drew her back to cradle her in a possessive hold that enthralled rather than annoyed her.   She longed to throw caution to the wind and kiss him, take what he offered, and lose herself in this gorgeous man.  Screw the consequences.   Instead, she opted for the safe route.  “Stop it, Archer.”   “Scared to admit the truth?”   “No.”   “Liar,” he breathed against her lips before pulling back.    She blinked, trying to ignore the flash of desire that raced through her body and pretend her senses hadn’t just been overrun by pure male sexiness.   Wow.   “I should go,” she said, needing some distance between them.  After all, she was here for a reason and it wasn’t to spend the night in Archer’s arms – on the dance floor or otherwise.   The silent motion of his head agreed with her, but she could see that he was worried.  She didn’t blame him.  Beneath her cool façade, even she was worried.   But she had a plan.  One she wouldn’t share with her Keepers just yet.   And she hoped to hell it worked.  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out our Snippet Sunday Facebook Group for more amazing authors! Rae Rivers

My Winter Holiday Reads

The winter holidays are here and we're headed off on a wonderful family holiday to the bush.  A week of little to no contact with the outside world, limited Wi-Fi, and no cell reception or TV.  It's freezing cold and there's very little to do in terms of entertainment but it's a lovely opportunity to catch up with the family, relax, and reflect on the first half of the year.

This has been a wonderful year for me with lots of exciting opportunities and my first book, The Keepers: Archer is finally out to the world.  It's a scary but exhilarating feeling and I look forward to sharing it with readers. I'm currently underway with book two of the Keeper series so have my laptop packed and ready to go with on our trip.

Along with my computer, notebooks, and inspiration, I've also packed my Kindle - fully charged and bursting with some good reads - so in between the writing, game viewing and playing board games with my kids, I intend to cuddle up on the couch in front of the fireplace with a glass of red wine and catch up on my reading.

What's on my winter reading list?

Waking Up In Vegas
By Romy Sommer

What happens in Vegas… Waking up to the bright lights of Vegas in an unfamiliar penthouse suite, cocktail waitress Phoenix Montgomery finds she’s covered from head to foot in gold glitter and not alone – aside from the empty bottle of champagne, there’s a mystery man in the shower and a huge sparkly ring on her finger! Stays in Vegas? There’s no denying Max Waldburg’s demi-god sex appeal but commitment-phobic Phoenix doesn’t do relationships. Only it seems her new husband (agh!) has other ideas…he’s trying to keep that ring on her finger and his wife firmly back in his bed. The only question on her lips is – why? Or maybe, why not?

Confessions of a Chalet Girl
By Lorraine Wilson

Set in the exclusive Swiss ski resort of Verbier, the winter playground of the rich and famous, Confessions of a Chalet Girl is a fun and flirty contemporary romance novella from the fabulous Lorraine Wilson. The slopes seriously start to heat up when chalet girl Holly is propositioned by her sexy new boss!

Your Room or Mine
By Chalotte Phillips

1 cheating ex, 3 bottles of white wine, an emergency pep talk from the girls… and this seemed like a good idea at the time: Izzy Shaw’s Getting-Over-Him Action List 1. eBay his entire collection of football memorabilia and spend all profits on treating myself to fabulous new wardrobe.
2. Turn plans for ‘Loved-Up Mini-Break’ at exclusive boutique hotel into a weekend of spa pampering, me-time and shopping at Harvey Nics.
 3. Don’t get even, get even better. Have one night stand with drop-dead gorgeous stranger – Mr Tall, Dark & Handsome in the hotel lobby is just what I need! Your room or mine?

Sinfully Summer
By Aimee Duffy

Notorious heiress Alexa Green has certainly been enjoying her most recent girls-holiday in Marbella. Just as we thought, she’s been knocking back the cocktails and showing off her fabulous bikini body on the beach… but rumour has it she’s also been spotted sneaking out of Enrique Castillo’s penthouse in the early hours of this morning – in nothing but her underwear! Our question is, doesn’t this fiercely private billionaire know what he’s letting himself in for? He’s got the millions… and she knows how to spend them! So lie back on your sun lounger and get comfortable, because this summer fling is going to be a sizzler!

There are several more I have my eye on but for now, I want to catch up with some of these great books written by my author pals at Harper Impulse ... so, maybe, hopefully, pleeeeeease, my children will play happily alone for snatches of time so that I can enjoy these intriguing reads!

Thanks for reading!

Some Sneak Peeks!

We've had sexy snippets, brief introductions to our characters, and a glimpse of their worlds ... and here's another excerpt from each book:

Snaring Ric’s hand, she dragged him to the dance floor amongst the other guests, all swaying to the beat. Having no other options for privacy, she would have to chew him out here where they’d be close enough to whisper without being overheard.
‘Dance with me,’ she said through gritted teeth. ‘Alexa, if you wanted to press yourself against me, all you had to do was ask.’ His tone was light, but his expression was tight and deadly serious. Then again, on closer inspection, the hard lines of his face were rigid with what looked like fury. ‘Dream on, Castillo. I want to talk to you and unfortunately, dancing with you seems to be the only time I’ll have you alone.’ You can pick up a copy of Sinfully Summer out now!Amazon UK  Amazon US  Barnes & Noble      “Don’t ever look for me again, Archer.”  His jaw flexed, and he clenched each fist.
