Guest Blogger Fr Rutler
Readers will be familiar with my ‘guest bloggers’ being satirical altar egos. Now for a change I will be introducing some real guest bloggers–some well known and some not so well known. Fr George Rutler is pastor of the Church of Our Savior in downtown Manhattan. A convert from Anglicanism, Fr Rutler is a regular [...]

The New Evangelization – Stick ‘Em Up – 1
OK folks. Here’s the deal. Once a year I make an appeal for donations. In the past, before I came over to Patheos I could assure you that there were no ads on my blog. No longer. I apologize for the ads, but the ads allow the Patheos folks to pay me a little something [...]

Sacramentalized but not Evangelized

This is because evil is derivative. Satan cannot create anything, all he can do is twist or destroy or distort what is good. Take any sin [...]

Stick ‘Em Up
Once a year I have a campaign for donations. This will start next week. This year, however it is different because I am at Patheos. In the past I have always tooted the horn that I need your donations because the blog does not have ads. Now I’m at Patheos you’re pestered with ads. I’m [...]

The Little Girl as Warrior
“Sanctity! It must be won at the point of a sword!” said the little warrior St Therese. If anyone has read her Story of a Soul and gave it up as a sentimental exercise in French bad taste they should pick up The Last Conversations. The first book might just put folks off with the cute [...]
