The Russian Sleep Experiment Part III
Everything is coming along nicely with The Russian Sleep Experiment novella. I finished the first draft of the part 3 at the end of the Chistmas holidays - around 2 weeks ago - and yesterday I sent my edit of this section to the publisher for their edit. It feels like everything is coming together! The publisher and I have even seen a rough first draft of the front cover and the composition and atmosphere is already striking. I can't wait to see what the artist comes up with when he adds even more details for the final version.I'm also looking forward to completing the final edits on this piece and putting my work out there to be read. I'll be nervous to see the project out the door so here's hoping all goes well. The final section, part 3, is a return to the slow burning atmosphere of part 1. This third reaches a new level of isolation in the wilds of Siberia and follows some less well-known characters, characters not focused on in the original story.More updates will be coming in the following weeks so keep an eye out to see when "Holly Ice" gets on the cover of this thing! Those who sign up to my mailing list on my about page get first notice of any publication. Until I have something else to update, I'll be trying to find the determination to get cracking on editing the first novel of The Riftkeeper Series (more details are on my Upcoming Releases page).Holly Ice

My Short Story Made a Top 100 (or so) of 2014 List!
It's a bit early for new year but I think celebrations are still in order! Today I checked my twitter feed, only to find I have been listed on James Everington's website. He has listed me as one of his favourite 93 odd short stories of 2014. These are stories which"impress [...him] enough to make a note of it in the first place, and then still seem as impressive when [...he] whittled the list down for this post." I am so honoured to be included and am happy to see that two of my fellow Newcon

I can also see that the anthology all of these stories were featured in - Newcon Press' La Femme, was listed on James' recommended books and anthologies page. I know I for one will be checking out who else rates on this list and seeing if I find any new favourite authors...but first I need to stop smiling like a loony! James Everington is a writer himself and has been published more than a couple of times going by his extensive books and publications page. I know I'll be checking out his stories once I have a chance as well!

The Russian Sleep Experiment - Part II
Those who have read my Upcoming Releases page know I've been working on a Novella which follows and extends the story of The Russian Sleep Experiment. Yesterday I finished editing part II. It needs one final read through and then I am on to writing the final third of the story, where minds get twisted without the obvious chemical influence of Gas 76-IA. (Fictional) researchers, prisoners and civilians will be and have been harmed in the making of this narrative. I have tried my best to up the

I have tried my best to up the horror and unpredictable elements of the atmosphere and I hope to continue this in Part III. Stay tuned for more updates on this project. Your new dose of horror and clinical cold war era experimentation is not far off...Comments and discussion is welcome. Just drop me a comment.Until next time!Holly Ice

The Reasons Behind the New Site
Thanksgiving doesn't mean much too me, being British, but it did bring a great, 50% off deal on web hosting to my inbox. I took full advantage to make this site and bought a domain name as well! As much as I've enjoyed usingmy wordpress blogto speak about writing and reviews, I wanted to have a few, easily accessible, stationary pages. I also wanted more freedom to add my own code and develop the site (especially in terms of adding a form to subscribe to my new mailing list) and so here I am! I
